Cologne (1 Viewer)

Some fat #### was standing behind us in line at Whole Foods covered in some smelly Drakar Noir type garbage!

Don't wear cologne - Everyone near you thinks you smell terrible! This stuff is disgusting, do yourself a favor and don't put any on!

My wife likes when I wear it and she counts more than whoever's behind me at whole foods.

that said, I don't wear it when I go to whole foods.

i get these people in our tasting room every day. some of the men smell like they showered in Axe Body Spray, and a large percent of women [especially those 50+] seem to think Chanel No. 5 contains pheromones and more is better.

the worst, by far however, is patchouli oil. i can smell the dirty hippie from 100 yards away.

Just terrible!!!

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Got into an elevator right after a 50 something who overdid it with the cologne. It nauseated me the whole elevator ride down cause the dude stunk the joint up. Then people at the bottom thought it was me. I cleared that one up, though. Got me thinking how many people actually wear cologne anymore? I wore it some as a young lad in the 90s but haven't since.

I'd argue it's less about the cologne itself as it is the person being taught by his or her parents how to wear cologne. I was always told that you only wear enough so that someone right up against you (that presumably likes the smell) can smell it but people any further couldn't detect the smell.

It seems wherever there's the sent of patchouli, there's a bag of weed in close proximity.

There are 2 problems with cologne: people buy cheap stuff and people put on too much. I wear it because a GF in the past got me into it, she loved it. Most every girl I met after her liked it. My wife likes it. Scent is a powerful sense when developing memories, associations, feelings, etc.

Gucci, chrome and curve are my rotation. Not sure what the problem is with wearing a few sprays.
You have to get curve out of there. That went away 20 years ago. Cologne Pro Tip#3: if they give it to you for free in the bathroom of a night club, you don't want it.

You want to stay current on your scents. They come out with new #### every year. Spend the big money on it or don't buy it at all.

Some guy at work was over-saturated with some fu fu, and I asked him if he got his cologne at the Knights of Columbus bazaar? He didn't know they had a bazaar...

Clean showered for the win, by the way. Unless you are an angel like the Iron Sheik and myself, in which you naturally smell like cookies anyway.

I'd wear enough cologne to make sure only the person I"m about to have sex with can smell it. It worked- found a wife, and for the same reason npw have no need for cologne.

:goodposting:

As a single dude I always wore one spray when out. Spray on top of chest prior to putting on shirt/undershirt. Slight rub with a wrist then rub that just below the belly button. Idea being that when a woman smells it she associates it with  . Sounds stupid, but it worked.

Now that I am married I wear it only on "date nights" or whatever and always put it on when wife is in the room for the sole purpose to make the wife happy because she interprets it as putting effort into making the date more special.

Kenneth Cole Reaction.

Is that the name of a real cologne?
I actually have this one. It's OK.

I like cologne, wear it almost every day. Have about 15 different bottles, most mid priced stuff. It's also very likely I've-gasp-Used too much on occasion. Doesn't bother me if I catch a whiff of cologne or perfume that's too heavy on others. Can think of many odors on people much worse.

I tend to agree with this. The only thing I can't stand is that body spray stuff like aXe.

There's nothing wrong with it; the problem is kids (and apparently 50 year olds) bathing in it.

Walk into the spray. Don't spray it on you. Spray into the air and walk into it.

Fwiw I like Polo. Polo 4 and the reg stuff in the green bottle. Makes the wife very happy.

I think aXe is terrible. It smells like a combination of vinegar and potpourri. Not a fan.

Polo is good. I like the smell of Polo Black, sport and the green bottle. Green bottle reminds me of high school when it seemed like every gf I had gave me a bottle for a present.
