Granted I've only done one scope, but I wound up drinking a gallon of prep the day before per the instructions.  Your drink quantity seemed really low. 

 
And it was continuous from 9pm until about 1:30am, and again this morning the first hour I woke up.

But never clear...always brown.

I've had to have a few of these even though I'm only 47 and it runs in the family.  Good thing as well because the first time they found 4 polyps, next year 1, then finally the next year none.  I'm on a 3 year cycle now. I'd really do it every other year if they said ok, I'd rather them find something early.

All 3 times I've done it, there was no issue with poo remaining, it was like almost clear water coming out of me by the end of the day.  I start at noon the day before, and just take mirolax and ducolax with 64 ounces of gatorade. No eating or drinking of anything else and they usually start me at 6 AM the next day.  I've heard others talk about the prescription things they have to take but boy are those things I take effective for over the counter.

A whole year later!? You’re lucky, I didn’t properly cleanse and had to go back 2 weeks later.

This was my first year using miralax and dulcolax as the prep. It had always been the prescription liquid previously.    I agree that the OTC method was just as effective and maybe more so.   I was still pushing out water the entire next day.  

 
Due to positive COVID test results in my house (wife and son), my test was moved back a few weeks.  I appreciate all the input, for example, get the poo out, gatorade, etc.  I was told ot drink nothing red or purple, so you guys drinking yellow gatorade?

I did yellow Gatorade. Didn't look any different coming out than it did going in.

dunno. Most of it was clear, but a specific section still had some remnants. They were able to do the test but couldnt see clearly in that section.

What happened with yours...did they start and then immediately stop?

It’s all in this thread, had 3 colonoscopies in 6 weeks, the middle one was the issue and I believe they went in, saw blockage and stopped.  So awful waking up and immediately finding out I have to do it all over.

I’ve had a couple since then and I go way overboard on prep.  I ignore doctor prep and breakfast only day before and then around noon hammer away on miralax.  Mag citrate makes me vomit so it’s all miralax for me.

 
You guys want to hear about a party?  I get to do this next week for a second time with an ostomy bag.  That's a whole other layer of fun.  Fortunately, it's because I'm getting the bag removed, but I get one last hoo rah with this GD bag.  

 
So colonoscopy and endoscopy is a go for Tuesday, need to be COVID tested Saturday, then procedure set for Tuesday.  I informed my wife and daughter that I need to get flushable wipes and yellow or clear gatorade, they gave me a weird look and my response was I just read about it on the internet.  Thanks for the input all I ma nervously awaiting Monday when I start the pretreatment to clear the system.

 
I'm having a colonoscopy next Tuesday, prepping on Monday.   I was kind of expecting them to cancel with the high rate of Covid but no dice.   

 
Was supposed to have one today but it was rescheduled (thankfully before I had to start my prep) due to the snow in NJ.

This will be my 3rd since 2017 due to an issue I had.  I’m on the every 2 year plan now.

These are my prep instructions:

Clear liquids and nothing solid the entire day before.

4pm - 4 Dulcolax tablets with 8oz Water

5pm - 1 bottle lemon magnesium citrate

6pm - mix 1 bottle of Miralax with 64oz clear liquid.  Drink 8oz every 10-20 minutes until half the liquid is gone.

8pm - take 2 gas tablets with 8oz clear liquid if necessary

3am - drink remaining Miralax solution, finish by 4am.

Stop drinking all liquids 3 hours before test and nothing to drink after 2nd dose of of the prep.

Cant wait.  It’ll be so much fun.

Joking aside, I’m in the pro colonoscopy side.  Get it done if you have a family history or are the appropriate age.  
Had my first at 53.  Probably saved my life.  As a result of something they found in my colon the GI doc ordered a bunch of tests the results of which discovered my kidney cancer (stage 3, grade 3).  I had absolutely no symptoms so it may not have been discovered until it was to late.

 
So I had my procedure yesterday, seemed to go pretty well.  I had a couple polyps that were removed and an enflamed esophagus that is having a biopsy being done.  The doctor was not too concerned.  I went with the prescribed prep, that stuff tasted terrible.  You would think in these times they could find some way to make this a little bit more appealing.

 
all in all.  no big deal.  the purge was annoying, but not bad.  it's very odd, to see clear liquid coming out of ones undercarriage.  protip:  baby wipes.  and don't push.  there's no need.   :lmao:

procedure was easy.  lay on your left side.  knees up, right one higher than the left.  nurse asked if i had any questions for the dr.  i said no.  she said nighty night.  woke up in recovery.  no polyps.  clean slate :pickle:  

 
And so it begins...just popped 2 Dulcolax.  To be followed in 2 hours with MiraLAX + Gatorade cocktail.  

 
Went through this Sunday with the scope yesterday.

SuTab for prep.  That stuff was quite effective.  Yeah, you do your business a lot which sucks...the liquid diet and just hunger before an afternoon appointment sucked.  Especially Sunday night as my family eats a nice local pizza joint take out and I had my bowl of broth.

But...its done and my colon looked good, no polyps and barring any health issues popping up Im good for 10 years.

I will say man that anesthesia (propofol) was good.  Guy was like...your face will tingle in 10-15 seconds and then you will have a nice nap.  And he was right.  And coming out of that...so much better than my previous surgeries or endoscopy I had years ago.  Being pretty much alert and ready to go not long after was so much better than feeling like I just wanted to stay asleep (and without the nausea I had with previous sedations).

Good luck. I dunno if Gavilyte is the same thing as GoLytely, but it tastes awful. And trying to power down the whole thing gets brutal. Icing it down and making it as cold as possible makes it taste less.

How did see that in the esophagus? Must have had a really long assoscope. 

 
I'm not sure about this. I did the prep exactly as instructed and I had clear water coming out my butt, sometimes a little yellow. For sure no chunks. I was told the prep was just ok so I need to redo it in 5 years? That seems fishy to me. Did you guys get pictures of your colon? I was not expecting to be handed color photos of what I guess are the highlights.

No polyps so I guess that is good. They did mention external hemorrhoid.  I will give it some time before I google that.

I got an 8 out of 9 prep score. Completely clear bm's all morning before the procedure. They said there was a little bit of staining on my right colon but other than that perfect. It allowed them to see 2 tiny polops that they otherwise wouldn't have seen. Probably was something you ate a couple days before that was hard to get out of there.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Depending on your age having one every 5 years is a good idea.

All that matters is they didn’t find anything this time. That’s always a good thing.

 
Ill be 45 in March. When should I start getting these?   :scared:

ETA - I'll be.........FORTY-FIVE?????  :shock:
