**Colts 8-4 at Jaguars 8-4**(+1.5, 46.5) 1:00 (2 Viewers)

Heavy rain in Jacksonville could affect Colts-Jaguars, with lightning delay possible

The AccuWeather forecast for Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville says, “Periods of rain, some heavy, and a thunderstorm; a rain jacket may be needed for the football game.”

Although NFL games are played through rain, a thunderstorm could cause a delay. NFL policies are to delay any outdoor game when lightning is spotted in the vicinity of the stadium, and keep both teams in the locker room until lightning has cleared the area. Heavy rain would also affect the passing and kicking games, and could cause particular trouble for the Colts’ kicking game, as Blake Grupe was just elevated from the practice squad today to serve as the Colts’ kicker for the first time this season.

I think Sauce getting hurt is huge for the Colts D. I expect them to play the pass more in his absence, which should open up some consistent holes for Etienne/Tuten. I also think #1 WR Jakobi Meyers continues to hold that role over Brian Thomas and has a solid game. I'm also of the belief Brenton Strange isn't a fluke at all, and the Colts are nothing special against TEs. Wouldn't be surprised if Lawrence had some success with his legs as well.

Jags secretly have an elite run defense, and I think they are able to slow Jonathan Taylor. To me, while he's been very quiet of late, this is a game where Michael Pittman's possession work is gonna really be needed to sustain drives.

Jags-31
Colts-17

I picked the Jags to win the division in the preseason, and I certainly feel a lot better about that call now than I did a month ago.

Colts haven’t won in JAX since 2014. Love Strange props today, the weather is tempering expectations of this being the highest scoring game today.

This is an enormous matchup. The loser probably doesn't make the playoffs.

Colts seemed to peak and a convincing win here could make them a national darling team again.

I wouldn't go as far to say, "probably doesn't make the playoffs", but yes, it's a huge game for both teams. I'm hearing it's going to be a downpour. The Jags haven't been bad against the run. Certainly better against the run than the pass. The Colts need to neuralize Josh Hines-Allen on the pass rush and Taylor has to do something other than get stuffed a lot. I think both Jacoby Meyers for the Jaguars and Alec Pierce for the Colts will have a good game. Besides Gardner and Buckner the Colts are releatively healthy. The Jaguars with key players like Safety Andrew Wingard and Tackle Walker Little ruled out (concussions), while Defensive End Travon Walker, WR Parker Washington, and DT Arik Armstead are listed as questionable, according to recent reports for Week 14

The Jags are the better team right now
They will have 22 eyes on Taylor and dare Jones with a broken leg to beat them
Trevor is playing with confidence and weapons at his disposal
Too bad the weather looks crappy
Jags fans have been waiting for a big home game for awhile
If The Jags don't hurt themselves I think they win handily...

Sacksonville- 30

Indy- 16

Your guess is as good as any I suppose.

Any updates on the weather? Last I read is that it was only light rain. With potential heavy rain throughout the game, does that hurt or help the running game for both teams?

Is Indy coaches Stupid ? They kept calling timeouts to allow Jacksonville more time..............like Indy would done something in the final 30 seconds even if they got ball back.

Coaches are really dumb when it comes to the final minute of the half.

Lawerence just refuses to target BTJ, if the past five minutes was worth anything he threw to Meyers and Patrick ten times trying to get that halftime TD.

Yeah. Didn’t understand that at all

Lawrence basically refuses to throw Thomas’s way. 4th among the receivers in targets at the half. What a waste of a high pick in redraft 🤬

Think it is time to write off BTJ for the season, he is not going to help anyone in their fantasy playoffs

Drop and pick up anyone that could help in the playoff run

When Tim Patrick is getting more targets than him it is time to give up on him as the Jags and TL have

I do not understand how all these fantasy sites still have BTJ highly rated and telling you to play him still at this point of the season

All this talk about how he has all the tools and such a high level of talent, etc Coen and TL do not utilize him at all
Instead they prefer scrubs like Tim Patrick and JAG Jacobi Meyers Mind boggling

Ouch, Colts traded their next two years 1sts for Sauce too. If Jones can’t make it back until late in the season they’re gonna have to go hard after a FA QB to try to be competitive next season. Jones was probably looking at a big extension too pre-injury, sucks for him.

Steichen is not as great as people seem to say he is Some pretty poor game management and play calling by him

3rd and 1 throw the ball, incomplete 4th and 1 shotgun run JT really dumb plays and play calling there
On short yardage you have to have your QB be under center not shotgun, definitely gives the defense the advantage

Calling a pass on 3rd and 1 is just dumb with a rookie QB on the road and you are losing
