Can they afford Rhodes now?
Rhodes is a goner. Unless the market proves to show nothing for him. He is going to get paid by someone to be a RBBC.
RBs is a flooded market. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rhodes wearing the blue horseshoe in 2007.
I hope so, but I think will all eyes on him in the SB he won himself a shot somewhere. You know he wants to cash in, this is his last chance.

I see Rhodes going to Detroit. The Lions need an experienced yet inexpensive back to cover for a year or two, or at least to share carries with KJ as he recovers. But the Lions wont want to invest in a high profile FA or draft pick. Anyone else think so?

He may want to cash in, but I don't see any team paying him bukoo bucks. Remember when the Colts couldn't even get a 2nd rd pick for James, and Seattle couldn't unload SA for anything decent? Now we're talking about how much $$$ someone is willing to pay Rhodes, not a draft pick, but I think a lot of teams feel they can plug and play the RB position cheaply, and Rhodes certainly isn't a premier RB. He may leave Indy, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Colts were able to retain him.

Cato June already getting set to meet with Mike Tomlin :D .
How do the Stillers have the money to sign Cato? Dont they only have about one mil in spending money?
With Hartings retirement they have 4-5 million in cap room. And they have 60 players signed and counting against the cap currently. They will shed some of that practice-squad type fat and free up a little more. And they can still make the slash move on several other players to free up several million more. And likely will.Rookies will eat up about 1.5 million of it? So they have plenty of room... if they so choose.

Cato would die in that steelers 3-4 scheme. The Indy defense was a perfect fit for him...built on speed. Cato isn't big enough to play in a 3-4 scheme. He's more of a traditional OLB in a 4-3. Someone that can cover flats and TE's/WR's and what not.

Thus the mention of Mike Tomlin. If its going to stay a full time 3-4, June has no business there.

Tomlins runs Dungys/Tampas cover 2 scheme and the whispers have been that they will start running a hybrid of it in Pittsburgh.

And DC Lebeau had no issue with doing so in his out takes since Tomlin was hired.
