Colts team stat I heard, only a couple of players on roster (1 Viewer)

comfortably numb

Is this true?

Im too lazy to look up every player.

But what is the number?

And what team is in 2nd place? WIth how many player?

Seems like an amazing stat in this day and age.

Bill Polian molds from raw clay each individual player with his bare hands. He then kisses each one on the cheek before seeing them off with a tear in his eye onto the field to play football for the first time.

They're one of the youngest teams, it's not that surprising. I'm trying to think of Packers guys who played for other teams... Harris, Woodson, Koren Robinson, Chillar? Pretty sure the whole starting offense was drafted by them. Wait, not Grant.

In addition to that, they've not had a change of coaches or GM's in the last five-plus years, which means that they've not had a change in philosophy that would necessitate a makeover of the roster. They've drafted well and players appear to prefer to remain with the team than to seek money elsewhere when their contract comes up. They've also been lucky to be set at the one position that so many teams have to hunt for talent - QB. It's certainly a noteworthy attribute, but one that's not all that surprising when you look at the facts.

You have to admit, it's impressive. No starters played anywhere else. I'm not sure about the backups, but with that kind of drafting success and unity, no wonder they're among the elite teams recently.

The surprising part is how well they've drafted.

Honesty.Close to the truth though, dude is draft obssessed and likes to give guys a chance to prove themselves. Other teams wish they had this kind of record.

Carlyle Holiday apparently started 2 games for the Cards. Who knew.

It's pretty awesome the Colts have such a great GM, one who knows how to draft and mold players, instead of having to sign players after other people do all the work

Does it really matter how you acquire the talent that gets you to the top? The Colts have done extremely well drafting players and have the luxury of having one of the best QBs of all time to keep the offense rolling.NE has done a great job finding talent that hasn't been properly exploited in various systems and fitting that talent into their schemes. And they also have the benefit of having one of the best QBs of all time to help keep them rolling. Hitting the lottery on all time greats like both of these organizations have done is a BIG step to making a GM look really good.

I was only talking about the Colts vs. the league in general. :football: If a team build via FA, they don't seem to last as long. Some have done it, but it seems like teams like WAS or OAK that go after FAs and repeatedly have terrible drafts never have success.NE seems to use a mixture of both building through the draft, and filling holes in FA.

My guess might be the Chargers - another fairly young team that eschews FA to build through the draft. Now that Lo Neal is gone, that only leaves them with one starter who has played for another NFL team (Mike Goff).
