Love Orbital. They’re a band I’ve never been able to see in person. Enjoy!Seeing the classic punk band MDC at a local brewery and also going to see Orbital in SF November 16.
Went to the Green + Brown show at the Troxy (London). They were superb.Seeing the classic punk band MDC at a local brewery and also going to see Orbital in SF November 16.
Saw Goose last weekend. Don’t love them but once the edibles and a few beers kicked in I was dancing like a fool. Great light show.
They are doing a 3 night run in Cincy in November. I don't like them enough to do all three but am doing two.

Was that Geese? Or a different band with the singular name?
I mentioned the bass player was in all of floppinhos school of rock bands. Kid was insanely talented.
Big fan of theirs, even before I learned about that connection.

My kid wanted to go last year and asked again this year because Acid Bath is reuniting (although I guess he mainly liked the bassist that died) but he’ll only be 16 and im not quite sure I’m ready to take him to an all day festival in VegasI know this is WAY outside the threads "cup of tea" but Sick New World PreSale is on now for Vegas in April 2025. PreSale Code is : MASTER.
Tix and lodging booked!!!![]()
Our Daughter, 29,is into metalcore, but has tagged along since she was young to tons of metal concerts since she was a teen. She was either 15 or 16 when I took her to see Motley Crue at The Palace of Auburn HIlls, so I get the concern! Now, she "takes" mom and dad to things like Shadow of Intent down at St Andrews (which was quite the experience). As a family, we love festivals and do Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores each year. I will say that for all of the festivals, we have felt incredibly safe and comfortable. In fact, our biggest issue all around is how militant (rightly so) security is upon entering. Maybe once he turns 18 I’ll make it his Christmas present
Sounds like we’ll probably run into you at a Michigan show eventually, he goes to a few on his own with friends too but he’s definitely into the metal / hardcore sceneOur Daughter, 29,is into metalcore, but has tagged along since she was young to tons of metal concerts since she was a teen. I can in to post that floppinho has one of his HS coffee houses tonight. Senior year, so these are the last ones ...
The exciting part is that he and 8th grade floppinha will be doing a duet - the first time they've ever performed together. I'm already crying thinking about it.

Goose, not Geese, which is a different band.
Orbital!!Seeing the classic punk band MDC at a local brewery and also going to see Orbital in SF November 16.
I saw Gillian and Dave in Charlotte. Unlike past shows it was a fairly even split on who sang lead and they seemed to be more relaxed . They also did an unplanned second encore to play a Malcolm Holcomb song and a few others.Seeing Sturgill Simpson tomorrow night for his benefit concert for Western NC. Friday I'm seeing Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
Sturgill was awesome. He is now performing under the name Johnny Blue Skies, and he has an album out under that name. He and his band played for 3 hours. They sounded great, and it was a fun mix of Sturgill songs, two or three Johnny Blue Skies songs, and several covers. Some of the covers that I can recall are Midnight Rider, Whiter Shade of Pale, The Promise, Purple Rain, Call Me the Breeze, Long White Line, Pinball Blues, You Don't Miss the Water, I'd Have to Be Crazy, a snippet of Spirit in the Sky, and the last song of the evening was L.A. Woman. It was a lot of fun.I saw Gillian and Dave in Charlotte. Unlike past shows it was a fairly even split on who sang lead and they seemed to be more relaxed . I bet Sturgill was awesome.

Saw them in NYC or SF when they first came out... Early 90s? Fun, fun show. I recall each had headlights on that looked a bit like laser eyes in the dark theater.
I was lucky enough to see 808 State once in the early 90s. Meat Beat Manifesto opened for them.Omg... Hadn't thought about them in years!!Love Orbital. I missed seeing Crystal Method last year (friend had to back out), so I'm pretty psyched to see Orbital. Now I just need to catch a FatBoy Slim / Chemical Brothers show and my tour or 90s electronica will almost be complete![]()

They were great last night, berndog. It was a lovely laid-back show, and the first song of the evening they did was "Brokedown Palace" as a tribute to Phil Lesh.I saw Gillian and Dave in Charlotte. Unlike past shows it was a fairly even split on who sang lead and they seemed to be more relaxed . They also did an unplanned second encore to play a Malcolm Holcomb song and a few others.
They literally opened this tour in my current home town and somehow I completely missed the news and I’m ****ing upset.Next up for me is a favorite of mine. Seeing The Chameleons this Sunday night

Strange Times is a top 100 album for me. I’m an idiot for missing this show.
Enjoy!

I saw Chemical Bros in SF somewhere in SoMa. The loudest show I've ever been to.
Hah I book and ask for forgiveness later. “Honey, don’t forget we have a concert on Friday”. Of course I booked it 10 months agoTried to convince the wife to go to a 3 day festival in Punta Cana
Tool - two sets
Primus
Mastadon
Coheed and Cambria
She said no
To be fair it was like $6K for 2 people and that didn’t even include flights
This was a great show tonight. Definitely see it if you’re a fan.LuckyI’m seeing The The at the end of the month in SLC.
Haven’t seen him in 20 years. He’s playing the new album start to finish then a 2nd set of older songs. I love the new album so this should be a good show.
My first Disco Biscuits show tonight. Excited to dance.
Car troubles resolved???My first Disco Biscuits show tonight. Excited to dance.

Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country @ The Stone Pony on Friday Night.
One of the better live shows I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot). Donato does some amazing things on guitar and the band is so tight.
