Confession of a Cowboys fan (1 Viewer)

I want to hate RG3, believe me I do. I don't like the Shannys, and redskins hate a core part of who I am. When King of the Hill's Hank Hill made his infamous crack " Boomhauer's dip was so thick, the chips were snapping like Joe Theisman's birdy leg." I laughed my head off.

I hate me some Redskins.

So I was all set. They get some new flash in the pan QB, he has no team around him, Shannahan and son are not as good as people think. This kids gonna suck and I am gonna love it.

Well he doesn't suck. You'd think I could hate him for that.

But I made a mistake, I watched him and listened to him. He is exciting on the field and charismatic off the field. He sounds humble and respectful and he does things that leave me in awe. Shanny and son are looking like geniuses again. A team that seemed done at the bye week is on fire now.

I hate that the Redskins got him. I hate the Browns for not paying what it cost to get him so he did NOT get to Washington. I still hate Shanny and I want RG3 to lose games, lose a LOT of games.

But I just can't hate the guy. He's too much fun.

Who knows, maybe he turns into a jerk off the field or Suh's someone in the groin on the field and I find my reason. Maybe there's some horrible secret about him that I don't know. It sure seems like he's a pretty great kid with some pretty great skills though. Which totally sucks.

Because I really want to hate him.

It's hard to hate the Redskins when they've sucked for most of the last 20 years. I save my hate for Giants (and the Eagles, to a lesser degree). I fear RG3 though, and really hope we can win Week 17 if it comes down to that week.

trust me, it is still easy to hate them :)I do fear for RG3 though, the dude takes monster hits.

I don't really hate him either, as a Cowboys fan.

I do think it is funny, however, how often he goes out of the way to mention how he "told the guys in the huddle" things like "we gotta fight; let's play to the whistle" thinks like that.

It's likely a good thing, if he is saying those things, but he sure likes to get credit for doing it.

Good kid though.

I was kind of hopeful someone would come in here and say "he hired a prostitute in college and then refused to pay her"nothing too dreadful, just something to take the shine offMy problem is I have always been an Eli fan. It's a real conundrum. I don't care if Nick Foles saves a drowning dog AND stranger at the same time, then cures cancer. I still hate that big ugly goofball.

You have bad taste, Eli is so overrated.

he's the beneficiary of a massive (and somewhat creepy) man crush i have on his brother.

Confession from I Giants fan.. I can't hate RGIII either but then again, the last couple of years I haven't had much time to hate the skins bc the eagles and boys have been much easier to hate bc they've been relevant. I'll always love the way RGIII plays the game and although I don't hate the skins that much right now (even after that game), I can see my hatred for them coming back in the next couple of years..

I believe that it is okay to respect and admire the individual players on a team, but hate the team as a whole. That's how I rationalize fantasy football with the rest of the NFC East.

I'm a Cowboy fan....don't HATE him like a Jacobs, McNabb, Strahan, DeSean, Osi, Eli, Shockey, Tuck, Santana Moss level. I'm no fan either.

The best thing I can say about him is that he seems like a good guy away from Football.

I'm an Eagles fan, and RG3 is one of favourite players and I definitely have a man-crush on him. Also incredibly jealous of the Redskins.

As a giants fan and owner in dynasty leagues I don't hate him but do hate the college style of play they've designed for him. I get it....it works. Just not my favorite style of football to watch. Also, he really needs to learn how to slide because he won't last very long the way he plays. I admire his will and drive and love his character but he needs to be smarter when he gets outside the pocket.

Good luck with that..have you been to Waco? :lmao: Im not shocked that he's had flashes of brilliance but that he's been able to play so consistently while limiting turnovers. Scary.Only thing I notice is that his demeanor is changing in terms of his ego from college to the pro's but I understand it. Hard not to change a little when success comes so quickly and you go from Waco, Tx to the bright lights of the NFL.Hope he keeps it up because he's fun to watch.

I am trying to think of a Cowboy, Giant, or Eagle who I don't hate. Can't come up with one.
Funny enough, I always kinda liked McNabb when he was with the Eagles, but then I started hating him with the Redskins(moreso due to his attitude these days though).

I have it exactly the same way. Apart from that the only player I absolutely hate is Ray Lewis. Can't stand him. Can't wait for him to retire. Hope he doesn't get a commentator job, though, 'cause then I'd have to continue to hate him.

I always really enjoyed watching Vick play. When he went to Philly, I assumed I'd immediately hate him, but I didn't. So, I guess I have one player on those teams who I didn't hate.

I'm a Syracuse fan so I always like McNabb as well.

Out of all the players on all those teams, you pick Vick as the player you like? The biggest criminal on any of those teams. Before prison, he was a cocky, arrogant player who never tried. Even in college. You chose to like him out of everyone?

He was fun to watch. :shrug:I generally don't take criminality into account.

How can you hate Napoleon Dynamite?

Fantasy football long ago blurred the lines between those I hate and there is not player in the NFL I enjoy watching more.

We'll have to see how he handles adversity.

Also you know the media love for him is a tad over the top when he fumbles and people opine he did it on purpose. As is usually the case when the media goes overboard on someone and keeps building them up a large segment of people will start to root for the downfall and delight in his struggles. Curios to see how he handles that and if that changes how well he's liked.
