Siple Claims FPC Crown & $300,000
I can't confirm this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tannehill and Beckham get a couple of Christmas cards from 2014 Footballguys Players Championship winner James Siple. Thanks to those two players' big games in Week 16, Siple's Roger goODELL's the bomb team jumped from second place into first with a 187.3 Week 16 score. goODELL tallied Championship Round weekly totals of 216.35, 209.4 and 187.3 after only averaging 146.34 during the regular season. Siple also got 23.3 from Marshawn Lynch with 13.9 of those coming on his "Earthquake II" run. In addition to becoming the newest FPC titleholder, Siple's 23.67-point victory over second place also wins him $300,000 and a custom Titlecraft trophy.
While first place is locked, the second place and third place teams may be affected by Elias stat updates later this week. For now, Greg Wilson's M&M squad holds a minuscule 0.28-point lead over Chad Butterfield and Matt White's Nut Powder 9. M&M was led by both Beckham and Gates this week as well as Russell Wilson's monster 39.75. Powder put up a dynamite 198.8, getting most of those points from Beckham, Gates, Witten, Ryan and Antonio Brown (20.2). The stat updates (if any) will be key as second place wins $40,000 and third gets $20,000.
It's hard to believe, but the battle for fourth and fifth place is even closer than the one for second and third. Wayne Ferguson's Pound4Pound is currently in fourth, just 0.09 points ahead of Week 15 leader Jon Kain's JoKa. Along with Beckham and Gates, big performances from Emmanuel Sanders (25) and Jeremy Hill (20.7) had Ferguson vaulting up the leader board Monday night. JoKa did receive some big scores from Beckham, Anderson and Nelson, but got "un-Luck-y" with Andrew's 3.45. Ferguson stands to win $12,500 while Kain takes home $11,000.
The final Footballguys Players Championship top-40 standings are below. As a reminder, the top 650 places in this year's contest will win prizes--congrats to all winners!
