Controversial players (1 Viewer)

Every year there are players whom some hate (or simply refuse to draft) and others love (or are seeing as value plays).

The list is designed to meet both those we love/hate and those we see as great values / players to avoid.

I'll attempt a list, feel free to add. I'm purposely avoiding listing rookies, which are always controversial to some degree.

How do you feel about them?

QB:

Vince Young

Derek Anderson

Travaris Jackson

Marc Bulger

RB:

Willlie Parker

Reggie Bush

Marshawn Lynch

Larry Johnson

LenDale White

Ronnie Brown

They all have lots of upside but I don't really "trust" any of them.

Jamal Lewis. I drafted him in a league this year because he fell below ADP value, dealt him as soon as I could to get ADP value out of him, and will now watch him have a season much more like 2005 and 2006 than 2007. Good luck Jamal owners.

Marvin HarrisonT. HoltRoddy White
I agree on Roddy, but are marvin or holt really controversial? I might be missing something, especially on Holt.
May show up less in a redraft but I can't move him in a dynasty due to his knee and age. He may still be top 10 but its closer to the bottom now.See you caused controversy :coffee:
Holt strikes me as one of the best buy low guys in FF history, you'd be amazed that people would rather have a guy like Cotchery or Anthony Gonzalez than Holt.I would think Harrison is pretty controversial, but then again, I think the majority(myself included) aren't really counting on him doing much if anything this year.

Walker

Harrison

Curtis

Roddy

There are the guys I will only take if they are in a value situation in the draft. There are others I like better in the same ADP range.

Everyone not named Brady, Tomlinson, or Moss
I actually think LT is quite controversial this year. Ask anyone that has owned the 1.3 pick in a startup dynasty draft. See how many wanted to keep it and how hard it was to move. With ADP and SJax going 1-2 in most startups, I would HATE to own the 1.3 because I really don't want LT there but can't imagine passing on him either. i.e., controversy for some.

I know Jacobs has been mentioned, but Ahmad Bradshaw has to come in here, even without the jail situation. The optimists think he could even take over as the feature back in what is one of the league's best rushing offenses this year; the pessimists say he'll never be more than a change-of-pace back and isn't even the true back-up to Jacobs, and there seem to be plenty of people in both camps.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. Fans will disagree on every player, which is why we play the game and drafts or auctions are fun. What I'm looking for here are the MOST controversial players.FWIW, I think Brady is more controversial than Peyton and LT is one of the more controversial elite players.

Derek Anderson. Some people think that he's a bum playing with great teammates. Some people think that he's only reached the tip of his ability and Brady Quinn could be on his way out of Cleveland.
