Corey Dillon close to retirement

Corey Dillon, RB NE

News: NFL Network reports that free-agent RB Corey Dillon is planning to retire, according to those close to him. Dillon has been courted by the Titans and Bills, but neither team has been appealing to the 10-year veteran. Dillon has already hinted at retirement once this offseason, speaking about it in January when he asked for his release from the Patriots.

Analysis: In 10 seasons, Dillon has 11,241 yards and 96 touchdowns, averaging 4.3 yards per carry throughout his career. Dillon was expected to garner lots of attention in the free-agent market, but he really hasn't been in big demand. He's pretty much a late-round flier at this moment in time, though that would change if he did come back for his 11th season. "

Looks like hes not gonna be on my fantasy team next year...

I traded for him in 1 league a while ago in a package deal involving Brandon Jacobs. He wasn't the main proponent of the deal but he was the only RB I gained while giving up Jacobs. Hope it turns out better than it looks right now.

This means that Dillion does not want to go to training camp..halfway through camp after a few RBS go down Dillion will have a change of heart.

I could easily see some team signing him at any point in the season once the injury bug starts biting.

:goodposting: Exactly what I was thinking. He will sign somewhere halfway through training camp and become the goal line back.If you got a roster spot open in a larger league I would stash him.

How many times does this guy have to retire?

We get it Corey, you're retiring. Ok. Go ahead and leave now. No really...go ahead. We're not stopping ya.

He's like that kid who isn't getting his way (i.e. a starting job) so he's threatening to go home.Dillon: "I'm leaving."NFL: "OK, Corey. Thanks for a solid career. Take care."Dillon: "I mean it. I'm really going..."NFL: "Yep."Dillon: "I'm opening the door..."NFL has turned it's attention towards other things.Dillon: "I really mean it this time..."

I guess Corey never helped your team win a SuperBowl.I wish him the best.

Yeah, whatever...give him another week and he'll want to play. His story is one of the offseason stories that is getting real old. He's going to retire, now he's going to visit such-n-such, then he's going to retire, then he's going visit...

Ahhhh, you get the point! Be gone already...
