Costco Love <3 (2 Viewers)

My one thing I wish Costco would do is make the bottom of the carts the right size to fit more waters on the bottom. There is just enough space missing where you can't add another one down there... like a couple more square inches and bamn.... you have enough space.

Is the water not good where you guys live? I think I might take for granted how good the drinking water is out of our taps here. Fresh from the mountain! Sort of.
Water is good almost everywhere in this country

Oh.....I dunno, man. We spent 10 days in Scottsdale and that stuff was pretty bad. I think bottle water is a scourge and a big reason why our oceans are polluted with plastics, but there's some pretty rank water around this country. Can't drink it in Jackson, MS I don't think.....Lubbock, Texas was terrible.
Arizona water is horribad. Reverse osmosis ftw.
I drink the water up in Rio Verde. Seems OK to me

There is also a balance we need to find. Destroy the oceans with plastic bottles vs drink some less than the best tasting tap water
I recycle 90% at least of those bottles.
Unfortunately, you really can't count anything actually getting recycled anymore.

Hey... I like my blissful ignorance! Kind of like those who drive electric cars for the environment.

I mean I routinely spend less than $50 there.
I don't think I have ever walked out of costco with a sub 200 dollar receipt
My wife and I call it the $200 Store.

I also see people come out with like 3 things..who are these people? Like they’ll have a cart with street tacos, a bag of apples and some batteries
Clark Howard swears he never even uses a cart at Costco or Sam's (in order to keep from overspending).

Maybe I'm naive, but I believe him. And Krista would surely call him out if he were lying.

And I assume he must live close enough to one to make very frequent visits.
I saw a dude at my last Costco trip. He has a cart. In the cart there was one package of steak and he was in checkout. I told him that I had never seen anyone buy just one thing before.
Steaks are worth the trip.

And the rotisserie chickens. Who cares how they are made. The meat fills up a Tupperware container for numerous meals. Boil the carcass for homemade soup. Its like 12 bucks that makes 10 meals.

Uh.... the 'who cares how they are made' made me curious but I realize I don't want to know. They are a great value and you get way more out of it than I do.

Marking myself safe from buying a Costco turkey. And coffee beans. Holy. CRAP! Parking lot was Thunderdome on a Thurs at 135pm. A kindly lady saw me walking in from the outer ring of Saturn and offered me her empty cart she had just used. Bless her. There were no carts out front where they usually live. Inside it was like a cluster bomb of mindless mutants went off and dispersed oblivious humanoids to clog up every opening like the '85 Bears D Line. Pretty sure I threw some elbows retrieving my 19 Lb bird....sorry about that, Lois and Bert.

$0.99 cents a pound for turkey, though. Worth it!

Who needs a cart? Just get in there, grab the turkey, and get to checkout!

They are very cold, sir. I also needed the 3 pound bag of coffee beans and vanilla (but they didn't have that).

It was more the 19 pounds than the cold. Be honest

22 pounds with the coffee!!!11!

And don't you dare man-shame me, ponytail. You probably have 4 different baskets on your little bicycle for groceries and books on self-improvement.

"almost everywhere"

Which is why I asked Chad about his water.....but thanks for stepping in, professor.

Tuck it high and tight and then burst through the hole. Keep driving those legs if you make contact.

was told this by a very wise man almost 45 years ago - best sex advice I ever received

I like to go in and look for deals on meat if I'm driving by during an off-peak time. Sometimes I'll leave without anything or just 1 thing.

Costco dog food is great too. $36 for 40 pounds compared to $75 or more at pet store.
Made by Diamond brands and is highly recommended and rated.

We used to buy the lamb and rice bag, but I think my dog picked up some allergies along the way, so we're trying different things out on him. He was SUPPOSED to be a low-maintenance rescue mutt from the streets of New Mexico, but he's turned into a high-maintenance member of the bourgeoisie apparently.

Still the best boy who's ever been a boy!

We had the same problem, usually only bought Costco dog food but our dogs all developed skin allergies (constantly scratching). Switched off the Costco brand and it resolved. From reading on the internet its not a super common thing, but definitely a thing with their dog food.

Used the price adjustment feature online for the first time. Ordered a new tv on Sat night as they had the best deal, Tuesday morning I checked and the price dropped $200. Submitted an online form and they’ve already adjusted the charge to my credit card and it gets delivered today

Our closest store ripped up their gas pumps and the parking lot around it to completely redo them. Armageddon would be easier than getting in and out of that parking lot the last few weeks!

Deschutes has apparently created a Helles for Costco, as well as the imperial stout

aiming to check out the Costco this weekend to find out for myself

You are willing to tempt fate and go into the belly of the beast 5 days before Thanksgiving for......a lager? Furley, no......
Daring. Better go right at open or right at close or during the packer game. Leaning towards not even going for the hotdog and soda for lunch today. Avoiding friday.

I swore I would never go into another Costco anywhere near Thanksgiving after going the Weds before in 2019. Then COVID happened, and Thanksgiving week now seems like a line to have a picture snapped with the Easter bunny.

"Oh, we're just lined up to the back, near the meat dept? Cool!"

Bat#### crazy people in there in 2020. Pretty sure a grandma who just handed her graddaughter a cup of frozen yogurt was willing to cut me to get her hands on my salmon Kirkland dog food,

Our just recently redid the gas pumps. Was a mess for two months, but it is awesome now. They increased the amount of pumps per row to 4 and lines are way down and move a lot faster.

I was in once last year around this time, with the line almost that deep. Figured I'd be stuck for at least half an hour.

Was out in 10 minutes. They had every lane open and people directing carts to the next open lane.

You serious, bro?

That's like saying something bad about someone's mother.

yeah, that idea was so ridiculous that it felt like a dream to even read it. thought maybe i imagined it.

i'd skip my own funeral if it were held during a Packers game.

Just spent $670 at Costco on a basket of food and alcohol for Thanksgiving and having 2 more sons home and SIL’s family for a few days. Thunderdome was a piece of cake compared to this. Wife’s Jeep needed gas so after 15 minutes of waiting behind people who squirt 5 gallons of gas in their car after wasting 2 gallons waiting.

Then you just hope you can find a spot while the two Asian ladies almost rammed each other gunning it out of the gas station. Porsche SUV guy took a while to one at a time load in his car what should have been one box of stuff with one simple motion into the car. I watched a soccer mom behind us load her car before this guy after he was 3/4 done when she got to her car. So proud of her.

Finally, we get into the zoo. Grandpa going so slow and stopping at every food stand, grandmas just not really knowing where to go smiling at you as if they wanted to start a conversation. Divert eyes away and sprint around those obstacles. The rest was a blur of getting through the shopping list and trying to listen to my wife when she’s screaming for me to stop while she carries a case of Prosecco down an aisle behind me.

MFers better love my tenderloin on Thursday or the reckoning is coming. One pleasantry was the guy at the door seeing how big my cart and receipt was and immediately marking the receipt without looking. I won’t even talk about the traffic away from Costco that we had to sit through just to get home and spend an hour unloading and breaking down cardboard boxes.

I got a Costco dare for you guys... (just saw this on FB)

At the food court, get a hot dog and a slice of pizza.

Tear the crust of the pizza off. Take the hot dog out of the bun. Place the hot dog on the thicker side of the slice. Roll it up. Eat.

Try and report back.

not Costco but went to the big local grocery store this morning expecting the worst and it was like 50% capacity of a normal weekend. kid at the cashier said that last Saturday was much busier and he also expected today to be a nightmare.

then, it's opening of deer gun hunting season so that limits the crowds everywhere up here

They were all at Costco instead of the local.

Local Costco opens at 930. Pulled up at 915 and the doors were wide open. Found the closest spot in the lot. Couldn’t believe it. Lady at the door said they usually open 10-15 early on big weeks like this one

Walked in, got everything I needed and got out in 30 minutes. Walked right up to a checkout lane and didn’t have to wait at all. Never had that happen. Would’ve been an A+ experience but all their turkeys were 5 pounds too small for what I needed. Maybe everybody is scared to go this week??

I was out of town yesterday and needed to get gas so I dropped by Costco. Apparently everyone was inside as there was almost no wait for gas. Decided after filling up to go inside to see if I could find the elusive "Vintage Ale" but no luck. The place was a madhouse though and if not for someone pulling out of a spot as I was driving by I would have kept going. Probably go early tomorrow, Cosequin is $10 off (~30%).

Lol.....how big do you need your turkey to be??? I got a 19 pounder and think that'll be enough. Should have 15 or so, but we have some vegetarians and picky eaters.

If I don’t have a 25 pound turkey it is simply not Thanksgiving.

Back when I was a kid before deaths, divorces, moving etc cut the numbers of extended family and friends... we would have three turkeys and a ham. The turkeys would each be done differently.... one deep fried, one roasted and one smoked.

Gawd, that brings back memories. Did it get dusty in here?

Well Costco was absolutely mobbed today but ours always is......I didn't go in went to the Starbucks next to it

I had it pretty good for a while when both sets of grandparents lived 10 miles apart and i got to double dip between two sets of cousins for Thanksgiving.
