Countdown to the Leftwich era in Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Boller did nothing wrong, but they hate him here and the fans will blame him anyway. They do need to bring in Leftwich. So the fans can hate him next year.

Leftwich is also from the area. But all bad play by the QBs tonight aside, the Ravens just signed Boller to a contract extension. If they were considering Byron, I doubt they do that.

The announcers talked about how Boller could have gone elsewhere - it was Boller's choice to stay. And, you need two QBs in the NFL. I'd excpect them to give Leftwich a very long look if McNair is going to be gone for more than a month.

I coulda swore a couple weeks ago I heard Boller's in a contract yearAlso, I hope they get Lefty in there for Willis' sake. No way he puts up decent numbers with Boller back there

Let me give you all a heads up...This offense will be no better with Leftwich in there than they would be with Boller, or McNair for that matter. The problem lies in the bad blocking and the system itself.lol @ Leftwich being some sort of savior, guy just got kicked to the curb for David Garrard

Guys,

It's too late for Leftwich to make an impact on this team. He'd need at least 4 weeks just to learn the playbook. By that time the Ravens will have been eliminated from playoff contention.

In the last 15-20 years, how many times has a team signed their starting QB off the street after Week 1?

They are riding this ship with Boller, McNair, and (God willing) Troy Smith.

If they were going to be eliminated anyway, why not give it a try? There is almost no downside.

Seriously. The talk all last year was how McNair - who was there for camp, as I recall - was adjusting to the Billick playbook. McNair always struck me as a pretty smart guy too. Leftwich has spent his career in Jax and folks expect him to have any positive impact this season should he sign with the Ravens? N f'in way. They'll ride this season out with the team they have. if they sign Byron, they'll cut Smith but I wouldn't Leftwich to start until next year.
