No it isn't. The FAITH is there.Big difference. It certainly seems pretty fantastic, but the proof is there.
No it isn't. The FAITH is there.Big difference. It certainly seems pretty fantastic, but the proof is there.
Nope, nobody can.can you prove the theory of relativity?
You just asked that. Part of the Theory of Relativity explains gravity. And it's still not provable. What about gravity?
No, they really aren't.They are provable...
We know evolution's not provable. No scientific theory is. But the evidence supporting it is overwhelming. And no, I'm not going to list it all here for you.evolution is not... evolution as a way we got here is not science because it is completely unprovable without a time machine...
oh yeah, go read it again now...I fixed it... and again... I want to point out that you know exactly what I meant...Lol at the idea of ATOMs evolving. You are dumber than a talking cucumber. The chances of an atom evolving, then evolving further, then evolving limbs, organs, etc.... especially the eye... are VERY SLIM!!
I honestly don't understand how anyone who lives in the year 2004 can attempt to take your side of the argument. So no, I don't know what you are saying. I don't know what you have been saying. I don't really even know if you believe what you are writing.you know what I meant by that... seriously... }=O)
but all science has is faith, too...evolution is UNPROVABLE therefore it requires faith to believe it heppened...No it isn't. The FAITH is there.Big difference. It certainly seems pretty fantastic, but the proof is there.
Mmmmmm, pie. Maybe some popcorn.I'd invite him in for pie. War is hungry business. You've got a deal.If a six-armed god of war shows up on your doorstep, will you stop believing the nonsensical ravings of Revelation?![]()

Proof of evolution is readily available. Do the Galapogos Islands mean anything to you?evolution is UNPROVABLE therefore it requires faith to believe it happened...
Not really. The chances of life appearing in the first place may be slim, based on the specific conditions required to start the process, but once it's there, if it's susceptible to minor changes ('mutations') and has variable environmental conditions then evolution is an inevitability. The chances of an cell/organism/acid thinger evolving, then evolving further, then evolving limbs, organs, etc.... especially the eye... are VERY SLIM!!
Boy, was I wrong.OK folks. We've hit rock bottom.
that isn't proof of how the world came to be...that is proof that evolution occurs WITHIN A SPECIESnot evolution from one species to another...Proof of evolution is readily available. Do the Galapogos Islands mean anything to you?evolution is UNPROVABLE therefore it requires faith to believe it happened...
how did the eye evolve? It would have been totally useless what, the first 50 evolutions? Seriously, too much is EXACTLY how it needs to be to work for life to be by chance...Not really.
Let that be a lesson to you. Never underestimate the lengths to which we will go in order to lower the bottom of the FFA.:keeps digging:Boy, was I wrong.OK folks. We've hit rock bottom.
I think the people who are arguing against the probability of evolution have very little understanding of the immense size of the universe. Not to mention the age of the universe.Obviously, evolution would be very far-fetched to someone who believes the earth is a few thousand years old.Not really.
Oh really? Well I am referring to accounts from the Bible of the risen Christ that were (oddly) not refuted by contemporaries odf the Gospel writers. In fact two early Jewish writers (Josephus and the other name escapes me) attest to the historical Jesus. Now, certainly, the Jews and the Romans had an interest in quashing any of this resurrection nonsense to keep the early Christians under foot. Yet, we have this phenomenon where people were willing to lay down their life due to what they had seen and believed. Nobody dies for what they know is a lie.The proof to me is the empty tomb.No it isn't. The FAITH is there.Big difference. It certainly seems pretty fantastic, but the proof is there.
Isn't that where they're filming the next Survivor?Proof of evolution is readily available. Do the Galapogos Islands mean anything to you?evolution is UNPROVABLE therefore it requires faith to believe it happened...
New species are evolving every day. Some are man-made (new species of plants and some biomedical genetic advances), and some are random (mutation of a gene through exposure to solar radiation). You've just admitted the existence of evolution. Therefore, you've voided your argument that evolution does not and cannot exist.that isn't proof of how the world came to be...that is proof that evolution occurs WITHIN A SPECIESnot evolution from one species to another...Proof of evolution is readily available. Do the Galapogos Islands mean anything to you?evolution is UNPROVABLE therefore it requires faith to believe it happened...
Amen, brother.Oh really? Well I am referring to accounts from the Bible of the risen Christ that were (oddly) not refuted by contemporaries odf the Gospel writers. In fact two early Jewish writers (Josephus and the other name escapes me) attest to the historical Jesus. Now, certainly, the Jews and the Romans had an interest in quashing any of this resurrection nonsense to keep the early Christians under foot. I realized this while taking Greek mythology in college. Once I came to this realization I tossed religion out the window.I see no difference between modern Gods and the Greek/Roman variety, yet we write them off as absurd. That's my point. We don't know. But that doesn't mean we have to stop the pursuit of understanding. It doesn't mean we stop the scientific process and say, "Well, it must be a god".How is this any different than the Greek creating gods for things they didn't understand?Would it have time to allow for this evolution? Where did this ooze come from? Where did the lightning come from? How is it that the planet earth is in perfect position for live to emerge. Pretty coincidental.
I am not a new earth literalist, but I find science's attempts to invalidate intelligent design to require more faith than the faith that I have in my God.
So the basic thrust of your argument is "I don't understand many things, therefore they must have been created by a divine, omnipotent deity for which no evidence has, does or ever likely will exist"?good callhow did the eye evolve? It would have been totally useless what, the first 50 evolutions? Seriously, too much is EXACTLY how it needs to be to work for life to be by chance...
There are sightless and eyeless organisms. Why is an eye necessary? Why is it the only way to achieve a "view" of the world around you?how did the eye evolve? It would have been totally useless what, the first 50 evolutions? Seriously, too much is EXACTLY how it needs to be to work for life to be by chance...
Again, not a new-earther here, but how old would the planet earth have to be to account for the vast number of plants and animals either in existence today or already extinct. I would think that the earth would have to be unimaginably old to support evolution from one source out of the primordial ooze into the vast compilation of flora and fauna we have today.I think the people who are arguing against the probability of evolution have very little understanding of the immense size of the universe. Not to mention the age of the universe.Obviously, evolution would be very far-fetched to someone who believes the earth is a few thousand years old.Not really. Then you're not looking very close.I see no difference between modern Gods and the Greek/Roman variety, yet we write them off as absurd.
Where is this tomb?Did anyone take out a stethoscope and hook him up to an EEG?I see no PROOF in the writings of people that took place AT MINIMUM 50 years post-mortem.I also have never seen a Roman account of the resurrection.Oh really? Well I am referring to accounts from the Bible of the risen Christ that were (oddly) not refuted by contemporaries odf the Gospel writers. In fact two early Jewish writers (Josephus and the other name escapes me) attest to the historical Jesus. because most creatures have eyes, genious...my question wasn't where sight came from... its where the eye came form...why do many many creatures have them? How do they work? Where'd they come from? How is having a huge useless bulge on your face attractive to the opposite sex? I mean, really...There are sightless and eyeless organisms. Why is an eye necessary? Why is it the only way to achieve a "view" of the world around you?how did the eye evolve? It would have been totally useless what, the first 50 evolutions? Seriously, too much is EXACTLY how it needs to be to work for life to be by chance...

this is where we differ...are wolves and dogs different species? I say, no...do you say yes?what about a Lion and a housecat? Jaguar? What about a horse, mule, donkey, & Zebra?what about big/small mouth basses?granny-smith apple tree vs. red delicious apple tree?those are the SAME SPECIES, just different types of that species....New species are evolving every day. Does about 4.5 billion years old work for you?Again, not a new-earther here, but how old would the planet earth have to be to account for the vast number of plants and animals either in existence today or already extinct. I would think that the earth would have to be unimaginably old to support evolution from one source out of the primordial ooze into the vast compilation of flora and fauna we have today.I think the people who are arguing against the probability of evolution have very little understanding of the immense size of the universe. Most creatures also do not believe in your religious view of the world. Therefore, evolution will eliminate it, eventually.BTW, those of us who are geniuses, spell it "genius".because most creatures have eyes, genious...my question wasn't where sight came from... its where the eye came form...
No, it really wouldn't.Start with light receptive cells, by fluke. Just a cell that can sense light sources. That one becomes a cluster. Then a membrane grows over the cluster. The cluster recedes back into the head, slowly changing shape, becoming more concave. The membranes become thicker. They start to refract light, focuing it. Those that focus best survive. Muscles develop that let the thickness of what is now the lens be changed. An outer flap starts to develop to control the amount of light. And a thicker membrane develops to cover everything. The organ is useful at every step of that development.how did the eye evolve? It would have been totally useless what, the first 50 evolutions? Seriously, too much is EXACTLY how it needs to be to work for life to be by chance...Not really.
They are not the same species because they cannot be bred together.End of argument. Is an Oak Tree the same as a carrot? They both started as seeds. Is a human sperm the same as a reptile sperm? After all, they both look identical...are wolves and dogs different species? I say, no...do you say yes?
Oh man.this is where we differ...are wolves and dogs different species? I say, no...do you say yes?what about a Lion and a housecat? That's not the point. The early disciples lived with Jesus. Several of them were there when He was crucified. Several helped to bury the body. If the resurrection was a scam, they would only have been willing to go so far with it. If they knew it was a scam they wouldn't have died a martyrs death.I might die for something if I didn't realize it was a lie, but not if I knew it was a lie. Many millions of people have died for what we NOW KNOW to be a lie.Nobody dies for what they know is a lie.
And taste identical. Is a human sperm the same as a reptile sperm? After all, they both look identical...
You are absolutely wrong on this. I once dated a girl whose father raised wolves that were 90%-95% pure wolf. That means at some point they had to have been bred with some type of dog. They are not the same species because they cannot be bred together.End of argument. Is an Oak Tree the same as a carrot? They both started as seeds. Is a human sperm the same as a reptile sperm? After all, they both look identical...are wolves and dogs different species? I say, no...do you say yes?
So you need an EEG for a man who was beaten beyond recognition and who had his pleural cavity lanced with a spear after hanging nailed to a cross for 3 + hours to prove he was dead? Interesting. Since EEG are a relatively modern invention, does that mean no one died before their invention? Please you can do better than this.As for insurrectiuon, check again, there was active persecution of early Christians from the time of Christ until Constantine (and then again up through modern day in some cultures). These were first-hand accounts, BTW, and I will grant that they were written down some 20 - 120 years after Christ died, probably from a source called Q. Which predated the 4 synoptic gospels (this is speculative). However, who is to say we won't discover writings that bring us closer and closer to the time of Christ? There is no doubt that he was a historical figure. There is no doubt that his followers were actively persecuted. Why would this be?Where is this tomb?Did anyone take out a stethoscope and hook him up to an EEG?I see no PROOF in the writings of people that took place AT MINIMUM 50 years post-mortem.I also have never seen a Roman account of the resurrection.Oh really? This is splitting hairs.Millions of Nazis and Communists believed they were right and were willing to die for the cause that they believed.Millions of Christians and Muslims have died because they believed their religion was "right".I see no difference between the disciples and those who KNEW that the earth was flat. Information came out later that invalidated their claim. After all, humans once KNEW that the universe rotated around the earth. We KNEW that heavier-than-air travel was impossible. We KNEW that gods existedI might die for something if I didn't realize it was a lie, but not if I knew it was a lie.
No, Captain Condescending, that's not what I'm talking about. No, you don't. If you're talking about 'look how pretty this tree is', that's not evidence of Creation because the existence of that tree (and even 'how pretty it is')can be explained in an evolutionary way as well. No ground is gained. That's funny, I see evidence every day. And, crikey would get this through your head, THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE FOR CREATION. None. Zip. Zilch. NADA! Seriously. NOTHING.
Do tell....Many millions of people have died for what we NOW KNOW to be a lie.Nobody dies for what they know is a lie.
Like the sharks with laser-beams...New species are evolving every day. Some are man-made
this poll is flawed...The more the creationists post, the closer they get to scientology in the poll. :rotflmao:

You tell me, how many years would it take to arrive at the number and variety of plants and animals that we have now?We have evidenced some evolution within our own lifetiome, but certainly nothing on a spectacular scale. Humans have been the same for roughly the last 10,000 years or so (as far as science can tell). I am just curious to how long each iteration takes to lead to so many divergent paths.Does about 4.5 billion years old work for you?Again, not a new-earther here, but how old would the planet earth have to be to account for the vast number of plants and animals either in existence today or already extinct. Right after you prove that there is a God.Ask the Jews for information on this subject. And Muslims. They all believe in the same creator. Yet none of them accept that Jesus is the son of God. In fact, Christians are on the way to becoming the minority in this belief.Link to definitive information that Jesus was not the Son of God please?
