they both start, Cushing has hit a bit of a lull past couple weeks, Diles had 6-2 last week. Cushing still plays 3rd downs, Diles doesnt..... still boils down to a tough choice.
I didn't watch every play, but I didn't notice Diles taking any of Cushing's nickel snaps. And I thought Cushing looked okay -- he narrowly missed finishing off a sack and was around the ball often. He's had a great year, but he's a SLB surrounded by a pretty solid MLB and SS right now, has a minor foot injury that could be hampering his closing speed just a bit and there's the specter of the rookie wall hanging over him.
Cushing has averaged almost 15 points a week for the season (including this past weeks score) while Diles has averaged a little over 6 a week. With the scores just the opposite this past week made me think that something may have happened that I wasn't aware of.
I guess I will stick with him this week and hope it was just an anomaly
What are the projections for this LB group @ STL? Where are they at physically and will they be a step ahead of the Rams in terms of filling gaps and making plays?
