Cutler's Value ...this year (1 Viewer)

So what is the confidence level with Cutler? He definitely has an arm, but really has not been tested (pre-season was a cake walk for the most part). Will Shanny let him open it up?

Started out with a deep QB core and looking thin these days. What do you see Cutler's chance to produce decent numbers?

Has some good/bad match ups: ( vs SEA, at SD, at ARI, vs CIN).

Thoughts?

Worth a pick up definitely, but don't start him yet.

Realistically though I think people are in for a disappointment, I don't see his situation anywhere close to Romo's

I think Denver is going to try to run the ball 50 times if they can. I think the fact that Cutler is starting says more about the health of Tatum than Cutler's talent at this point.

He is definitely not a Romo agree with you there. Would you ever start him in the playoffs? (even if he starts off with a 250/2 td game?) Just don't think I could risk it, but was curious to see what the consensus is on his ability.

I think the analogy is Roethlisberger, not Romo. My gut is that Cutler will look good and the overall offense (including running game) will improve a lot, and Cutler will put up borderline QB1 numbers.

Cutler is a guy who will lift the Broncos offense. Jake Plummer and Drew Bledsoe kept both of their respective offenses back.

And when comparing the situations between Romo and Cutler, they are VERY similiar (although Romo has had much more time in his offense and is 26, a very good age for a QB); Romo has good WRs (Owens and Glenn are great) a great TE (the only difference between Romo and Cutler), and both have two good RBs (yes, I said Tatum and Mike Bell were good). Cutler has a huge arm with huge accuracy, and is known for his good decision making. While the Cowboys went from an immobile statue QB to a QB who is great on the run, the Broncos are going from an inconsistent running QB to a pocket QB with great athleticism and skills.

However, because of experience I would not expect 300/3 a game out of him like Romo, but I believe that Cutler will be putting up 250/2 from here on.

Was there anyone on the planet that thought Romo would be Romo? Most people thought Dallas's season was over pretty much like a lot are treating the Cutler situation. Both guys step into situations with good defenses, good coaching that will put them in a position to succeed, good running games and good wr's. Yes Romo has been in the league a few years but Cutlers got top notch talent and the confidence of his coach's/team. Who knows what going to happen he may end up being every bit as good as Romo. Or he could flop horribly (I doubt it though).

No, I wouldn't unless I really had not other options within the top 15-20. Campbell started out well and then came back to earth a bit this week (still a decent game). I would rather start a Favre, Leinart, Pennington, Delhomme than him, but would gamble on Cutler over guys like Frye, Losman, BJohnson, etc. Sort of obvious, sorry. I also haven't looked at the matchups.I really think that the Broncos are going to rely on the Bells more than Cutler. I just don't see them airing it out unless they absolutely have to.Expectations of consistent 250/2 is just way high IMO. 200/1/0 would seem about right.
