Cyndi Lauper vs Rush (1 Viewer)

Lauper has sold 10 million more albums than RUSH. I would not have guessed that.
That is counting everything not just albums. That number includes singles, compilations, an album of covers, videos and concert dvds. And if it weren't for those lovable Japanese fans she wouldn't have sold crap since 1989.
She got a grammy 2013.
Did you buy the Kinky Boots album?
 Saw it on wiki.

I am just posting facts, don't shoot the messenger. The girl just wants to have fun.

To be clear I like some of her work. She had some good pop songs. But she isn't even in the same zip code, haters aside.
So she is average, at best, while Rush is one of the worst things ever inflicted on ears (coming in just above Rosie Perez's voice). Advantage Lauper.
I'm sure you're going to the 6th circle for this view. The music gods will judge thee harshly methinks.

I really don't think RUSH holds up over time so by default Lauper wins Time After Time. She Bop alone makes this a landslide.
Yep...that's why they are kicking off their 40 year anniversary tour tonight in Tulsa, OK.

Rock on bro.
At least they know their crowd. NTTAWWT.

At least there is still a ton of tickets available to see the rock gods. You can still front stage section floor seats. :lmao:

I guess there must be a family reunion in Tulsa tonight.

And if it weren't for all the people with terrible taste, Rush would never have sold a single album.

You see the price of those tickets? The price of one ticket to that concert is an average Tulsa worker's monthly salary.

Rush – Tom Sawyer Lyrics
Translation in progress. Please wait...

A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride

Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
His reserve a quiet defense
Riding out the day's events
The river

What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift

The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide

Today's Tom Sawyer
He gets high on you
And the space he invades
He gets by on you

No, his mind is not for rent
To any God or government
Always hopeful yet discontent
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is

What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the witness, catch the wit
Catch the spirit, catch the spit

The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his eyes are wide

Exit the warrior
Today's Tom Sawyer
He gets by on you
And the energy you trade
He gets right on to the friction of the day

I might need to rethink this, they were quite the wordsmiths.
