D. Moore vs j. ford (1 Viewer)

Jacoby Ford should be matched up with Jammer.

On the other side, the Chargers have been alternating between Cason and Gilchrist. Neither are cutting it. I expect a big game from whichever OAK WR goes against them.

No one mentions that ford had Bailey on him last week and still got his, of course Moore was targeted more often because of this.

I have Ford AND Moore, and have been struggling over which one to start because Miles Austin is out for me. Ford and Moore both have the ability to put up one big play during the game that is enough to justify their start. I am leaning towards Moore because...1. I believe he will still get more targets2. Ford will see the Chargers best corner, Quentin Jammer most of the game (yes, I know he is no Revis)3. The Charger and Raider defenses simply aren't that great. I see a lot of scoring in this game between hated rivals4. Moore has a slight edge in rushing yardage over Ford. He could very well score tonight (he rushed one in against the Jets in week 3)The problem is there is not a large sample size to work from this season regarding either player. Going with my gut here, but I'm giving Moore the start.
Ford is great after the catch, and had a couple of rushing TD"s last year if I am not mistaken... not to mention he returns Punts as well.. I think Ford actually might have a slight edge as far as that goes

Absolutely great point

Okay, I put him in. Reasoning: I'm paying FBG's for their analysis not my own. Bloom likes him at number 11. So he's going ahead of Fitz and maybe B. Lloyd in my line up this week.

that didn't last long
lol nope.. glad i decided not to start him last minute.. was a nice catch though, and if he didn't sprain his ankle he might of caught his balance and ran that for a TD.. definitely hope he doesn't miss too much time

I got all excited reading that long catch on my phone...only to come on here and realize that's all I am getting tonight :kicksrock:

I was just being cheeky. I chickened out and benched him at the last minute (for Jonathan Stewart at Flex). My leg hurts from kicking myself.

hah yea that is probably what I would be doing if Ford did not get hurt because Palmer has turned both of them into fantasy relevant WR's ... but in this case I "luckily" benched him at the last minute...

I'm ready to smash my face through my car windshield. I own both for and Moore and started ford tonight. Grrrrrrrrrr

Beat writers saying Ford's on the sidelines on crutches. Looks like he's headed back to the Waiver Wire in a lot of leagues.

I'm sorry guys. I have this thing. Whomever I start on a weekly basis gets hurt--Ford, Nicks, Hillis, Julio Jones, etc... I should have warned everyone. Fantasy Gods disapprove of my actions.

It's not just you. I've killed every WR who's come near my team this season. Not a surprise I killed Ford too.

Please don't....I need him

+1
Same here. Just bad luck. Both on the fake punt and injury. Good news is that if the injury isn't serious then the OAK passing game may be able to do some serious damage the rest of the year.
Um just so you recognize OAK passing game did serious damage tonight without him. ;)

Guys, seriously...nobody cares. We don't need 8 posts in every thread saying "all my players get injured". Deal with it. Can we get back to actually talking about the players now, rather than your fantasy teams?

My analysis: Denarius Moore is a top 5-10 WR play each week without J. Ford in the mix. Great ball skills, separation, route running, oh and did I mention SEPARATION! He's that good. With Palmer's big arm and proclivity to throw into double coverages and when his guy isn't open, we are looking at something big guys. With J. Ford back, I'd say he falls somewhere between 10-20--still a high end WR2 low end WR1. The reason I say this is if you look at the last several weeks and see what the Chargers have done to number WRs, it has not been pretty for the wrs. Besides Jennings, no one had scored TD in a very long time. Insert Moore, 2 TDs, 100 + yards, clearly the speed is too much for Jammer now. So, unless they play Revis or maybe even The eagles, I'm all in on Moore.

I'm a Moore owner for most of the year (got him again this week) but didn't play him tonight. That's what I saw. He looked damn good and Carson loves to throw to the guy. No other WRs had anywhere near the amount of targets this dude had. We all saw what happen when he was heavily targeted earlier in the year, look out!

I'll add also that the Raiders D isn't that great. You can really score on. So, Palmer will be throwing a lot and that running game is nasty.

Really frustrating as a fan of Ford. The kid just can't catch a break - seems like every opportunity gets cut short randomly.

Moore is a baller.

Guess what? Jacoby got hurt, so I won't celebrate too much. Moore showed he is no wilting violet, he demonstrated he is the real deal. I started him, and will win this week because of that. Sabertooth, love ya bro!

who replaced Ford?
I saw a lot more DHB on the field after Ford went down. I don't recall seeing any targets his way, though. DHB is also on the field in the 1WR heavy sets OAK was running quite a bit last night, but you don't get points for blocking.
Zero targets for DHB, though he was on the field a lot.

Vincent Jackson, meet your new replacement: Denarius Moore !
What is up with Jackson? He looks like he's playing not to get hurt or something. He just quit on that deep ball.
It was pretty clear on replays that there was a mixup of some kind between him and Rivers. He didn't even seem to know the ball was in the air when he turned at the goal line, reacting only at the last minute when he saw both defenders going for a ball he didn't know was even coming.Whether that was him not running the right route, thinking he was only a decoy, or something else, I don't know. Not a banner night for him, though, for sure.
