That was my first Iteration - already changed multple times, I generally go through a process of build, tinker, blow up, start from scratch, rinse and repeat....honestly I should be in a support group....

in your thought process, what makes these weeks the "toughest cut weeks"? (honest question not a critique)

9 - CLE, NYJ, PHI, TB

earlier in thread I suggested weeks 6, 7 and 11 were the toughest because they involve the fewest teams on bye and therefore the smallest drop from a "normal" scoring week league-wide....but honestly I don't know if that argument holds water. of these three weeks, week 11 is the latest in season and involves the most anemic of the 6 offenses involved....so in a vacuum I would call week 11 the "toughest bye week"....but I'm only considering the impact of contest team reduction indirectly (week 11 season lateness).

He makes a really good point imo. 13 Will be tough but nobody is on bye. 14 Will be hardest, 8-12 is tough by numbers with 11 having the fewest key players on bye. 8, 10 and 12 look to me to have the most key players on bye with a large cut.

Week 1: the lowest-scoring 10% of the field will be cut.
Week 2: the lowest-scoring 10% of the field will be cut.

I've always just thought the cuts get tougher with each passing week. The main reason is the cut % increases, but on top of that, as team's dwindle down, those hokey entries fall off, until only solid entries remain. For example, if you get booted before week 5, one of two things happened. Either a) you had bad luck with injuries, or b) your team was flawed in it's build in the first place.

But yes, I do agree the quality and amount of teams on a bye in a given week play a part.

I already changed this like yesterday....I'm on at least #10 iteration now...and I will always have a 3rd QB, going back a few years I had L-Jax and Brees....that was the year that Brees got hurt early and L-Jax was having an MVP season, then week 9 it was his bye and thankfully Brees got activated that week...had he not I would have went out - and I went on to finish in the top 15 that season. Sure its a sunk cost, but injuries are part of the process and after that close call I will always have someone cheap to be a bye/emergency injury cover.

Will have to see how things evolve. My random, havent even done my own projections yet, shoot your shot first pass is very Rb heavy for values:

QB - J.J. McCarthy - MIN/6 - $19
QB - Justin Fields - NYJ/9 - $15
QB - Cam Ward - TEN/10 - $11
RB - Chase Brown - CIN/10 - $26
RB - Kenneth Walker III - SEA/8 - $23
RB - RJ Harvey - DEN/12 - $19
RB - Dylan Sampson - CLE/9 - $10
RB - Ty Johnson - BUF/7 - $7
RB - Jacory Croskey-Merritt - WAS/12 - $6
RB - Woody Marks - HOU/6 - $5
RB - Tahj Brooks - CIN/10 - $4
WR - Jakobi Meyers - LV/8 - $16
WR - Chris Olave - NO/11 - $16
WR - George Pickens - DAL/10 - $16
WR - Jayden Reed - GB/5 - $12
TE - Mark Andrews - BAL/7 - $18
TE - Dalton Kincaid - BUF/7 - $11
PK - Chris Boswell - PIT/5 - $4
PK - Joey Slye - TEN/10 - $3
TD - Las Vegas Raiders - LV/8 - $3
TD - Atlanta Falcons - ATL/5 - $3
TD - Jacksonville Jaguars - JAX/8 - $3
Hopefully they evolve as you're breaking at least 3 of the rules for a good rooster build.

Kickers
$8 - Brandon Aubrey
$7 - Jake Bates, Cameron Dicker, Matt Gay
$6 - Tyler Bass, Jake Elliott, Ka'imi Fairbairn, Wil Lutz, Chase McLaughlin, Will Reichard
The above 10 kickers should be the first ones you cross off the list.

$5 - Harrison Butker, Brandon McManus
Before choosing either of these guys, I would seriously consider upgrading 2 different spots at a buck each. For example, I would much rather have 4 + 4 + 3 versus 5 + 3 + 3. Also, they brought back the $2 option at WR, so take a peak there before spending up.

$4 - Andy Borregales, Chris Boswell, Daniel Carlson, Joshua Karty, Younghoe Koo, Cam Little, Tyler Loop, Evan McPherson, Jake Moody, Jason Myers, Chad Ryland, Jason Sanders, Spencer Shrader
If you can't find enough kickers you trust below, come here for a kicker or two (but not three).

$3 - Caden Davis, Graham Gano, Blake Grupe, Dustin Hopkins, Cairo Santos, Joey Slye, Matthew Wright
If you're like me and shop here before moving up to the $4 bin, I'm just looking for guys who won't lose their jobs due to "suckiness". Don't forget to cross Caden Davis off your list, unless you think he's going to find a new home in the next month.

FYI, Niners cut Joseph yesterday, so the Jake Moody era continues.

Yay?

Moody is in good company. He is one of only 4 K's to be drafted in the first 125 spots over the last 10 years. All 4 also share another stat - all of them have a lifetime FG percentage in the 70's.

Joe should've changed up his $100 offer and made the cutoff for it the same day pricing comes out, but upping it to $1,000.

I'd be tempted...

Kickers
$3 - Caden Davis, Graham Gano, Blake Grupe, Dustin Hopkins, Cairo Santos, Joey Slye, Matthew Wright
If you're like me and shop here before moving up to the $4 bin, I'm just looking for guys who won't lose their jobs due to "suckiness". Don't forget to cross Caden Davis off your list, unless you think he's going to find a new home in the next month.
Already have Gano, Grupe and Santos locked in.

Where "locked in" = extremely likely to change before the deadline...but they seem like 3 cheap kickers who's roster spots should be safe.
Right? RIGHT?!?!?!!!

;)

I am running away screaming from Gano this year. Santos is my favorite $3 special, and Grupe is a decent choice as well.

The problem isn't being on the Giants. It's Gano himself. It started 2 years ago. He hurt his knee in week 8 of 2023, and was supposed to be out on IR for a short stint, but it turned out he missed the final 9 games and had knee surgery. Then last year, He makes it through the season opener, but pulls a hammy in week 2 on the opening kickoff. Another short stint on IR turns out to be 7 games. In the last 2 seasons, besides his one kickoff in week 2, he has missed 17 games and played 17 games. And in those 17 games played, he has made only 71.4%. Prior to his surgery, he was hitting at 91.8% from 2020 thru 2022. I know he is an accomplished kicker with 15 years under his belt, but I think time has caught up with his legs. Besides Caden Davis, he is my only other $3 kicker I won't consider.

Awesome info. I totally forgot that I rostered him last year too and he was out most of the year. Switching now to another $3 scrub ;)

As I was dumpster diving for $3 kickers, one that really has me perplexed is Matthew Wright. In his 5 seasons, he has spent time with 9 different teams. This year will be his first as the opening day starter. Yes, he has been a fill-in for guys like Butker and Boswell, and I certainly wouldn't expect him to take their jobs, but he has backed up some scrubs. In 2023 and 2024, he played backup to Ryland, then Moody, who took turns leading the league in missed FG's. Wright is 55-for-63 for his career (87.3%), and would qualify as K6 all-time if he had 100 attempts. And with a long of 59 yards, his leg is strong enough. Perhaps he's just been at the wrong place at the wrong time for the last 5 years?

if you google 2025 kicker rankings you might end up believing none of the $3 kickers are safe. at the moment I have one $3 kicker and two $4 kickers....looking to save a buck but not in a hurry.

IMO, a low ranking doesn't necessarily mean unsafe. It just means they don't expect alot on offense from the team.

Grupe - In his 2 seasons he hasn't missed a single game. He finished K8 & K16, and improved from 81.1% in 2023 to 87.1% in 2024. 6 FG's of 50+ in consecutive seasons. He went from decent to bottom of the barrel in rankings because Carr left, but no reason to think he will lose his job.
Santos - 1 missed game in the last 5 years. And during this stretch, he's kicking at a 89.9% FG rate. He's as safe as any other kicker, even the most expensive ones. I actually prefer him over a few of the $4 options (definitely Borregales and Shrader).
Slye - Seems like he keeps losing his job, but he really isn't. He just changes teams. Has 5 complete seasons in his 6 years in the league. The only year he didn't play every game was 2021. That year he started out as a filler for Fairbairn, who started the season on IR. He then went and kicked for SF when Gould got hurt. And finally he went and kicked for WAS when Hopkins was injured. All-in-all, he went 92% and had a higher FG percentage than all 3 of the kickers he subbed in for. Sure, he a journeyman, but he has never lost his job due to suckage.
Wright - see post above
Gano - I think he's unsafe due to age/injury concern - see post above
Davis - Can't get any unsafer than a kicker on his couch
Hopkins - He's been around for a decade. He sucked last year, but kept his job anyway. I'm steering clear of him for 2 reasons. First, he has been injured and missed time in each of the last 3 seasons. Second, he plays for the Browns!

I think that people trying to scare true competitors off the high priced kickers are purposely being obtuse with long winded stories, so that teams that truly seek to win this championship realize that the best kickers do indeed cost a bit more, but that expense is well worth the cost.

If you ain't rostering Aubrey, you're playing for 2nd place!

True dat, got to have positional leaders, ESPECIALLY at those positions where the cost is not prohibitive.

So you're saying my Aubrey/Bates/Dicker combo isn't a good idea? Without Tucker, I feel like I'm totally lost at this position.

Well, the only way I'd consider the top group is by tripling up on them, so I think you did good.

Not gonna lie…I hate it.
Only 4 RBs? Only 2 TEs? You’re prancing us, right? Especially with the success rate stats for larger rosters
