If he gets the starting corner spot or nickelback does anyone think he can be a good tackle IDP. I already think he will get some ints. In week 1 he might be lined up against Welker, and I have a feeling Brady will look that way often. I thought I read he had 5 tackles in the 1st half last game, and looked very good

A good start in week 1? Personally, I'd rather sit him for week 1 and see what happens. There is no telling who might start at the CB spots for the Jets against NE at this point, and the last preseason game won't tell us much if anything at all. Playing the nickle in Manginis' D probably takes more learning time than Revis has had, and the status of Dyson and Miller will remian a mystery until the week 1 results are in the books. I figure Poteat plays nickle, and Revis will be in a rotation at CB if Dyson and Miller are healthy enough to pay at 95% or better. If they are all healthy, the Jets have 4 CB's that could start for a lot of teams. What was once a weakness, is now a strength, or appears to be so.

If you have another option, the safer bet would be to see what Revis does in week 1, and go from there imo.

because of roster requirements I might have to start him anyway. I saw Barrett, D.Coleman, Miller, and Poteat all see action at the spot opposite Dyson last season, and think Revis will take that job early. It wouldnt surprise me at all to see Revis flying up the depth chart by week 1. If he does take the starting CB spot what kind of IDP numbers do you think hes capable of? Also wont surprise me to see E.Smith and E.Coleman in some kind of rotation now that Smith is practicing

just to update things, Revis is starting, and I wont be surprised to see Brady throwing to his side of the field often. I think hes going to be a solid IDP play

Dyson has apparently re-injured his foot, so Revis likely gets the start with Miller still a little gimpy as well. No doubt the Pats will test the rookie toimorrow.

:goodposting: Unless I've got a really good reason to do so, I hate starting IDP rookies week 1. Even the best ones usually take a few weeks to settle in.

He very well could be in for a busy day as the Pats are certain to test him.

He won't be getting any stats for being burned by Moss though.

Not only that, but keep in mind that Revis has been extremely active in run support throughout the pre-season. His tackling skills and nose for sniffing out the run certainly factored into the Jets trading up to get him. I would start him without hesitation this week if you need him.

I watched the whole game, and didnt see Moss burning Revis. In fact I hardly saw Brady throw at Revis side of the field at all. He still had 5 solos and a couple of assists. solid day. Moss did have a great day, but it was mostly at the expense of Barrett and Miller.

looks like Revis might come out of my PS and enter my starting line up....

I'll Dawkins one more week against Washington
