Dallas Clark - no visits (1 Viewer)

Given the thin TE market (John Carlson getting $25M), does the fact that Dallas Clark hasn't even scheduled one visit make it a lock he's waiting for Manning, or is he really considered too old to contribute?

Julius Thomas and Jared Cook owners need to know

Giants are considering him even after the Bennett signing, according to beat writers.

They say that Bennett will have Ballard's role and Clark would have Beckum's H-back & slot TE role. Jacob Tamme would be a good fit for the Beckum role but the writers say the Giants aren't interested.

From this, it seems that the Giants think Bennett has the physical ability to be better than Ballard but they are unsure about his effort. So they went with the safe contract.

Wanting Clark over Tamme seems they still like Beckum and don't want to sign a guy for more than a year. If they were done with Beckum I'd think they'd show some interest in Tamme.

With Manning now entertaining an offer from the 49ers, I don't think they need Clark. Part of whether or not Clark follows (or attempts to) is dependent on what team Manning chooses.

There are always "odd" signings, where teams double up on positions "we" do not think they need to. Clark could certainly sign a vet minimum contract anywhere Manning signs, I am just not sure (1) if he would want to and (2)if Manning would lobby hard enough to make a team sign him.
