Have to agree and say RB is a need, not sure I like a trade up. Probably something in Rounds 1-3.

I’m still for drafting on both lines.

Keep hearing and reading lots of smoke in the Top TE’s and us being interested.
The Washington kid from Georgia does sound intriguing

Cowboys brass does their best work when the draft comes to them. Roster doesn't have a glaring hole anywhere. A good player will be available to us at #26. Just stay and pick unless the value to move up or down is overwhelming. The scouting department hits well above the league rate. Trust the demonstrated performance and we'll be fine.

Would love to have Bijan- he would fit us perfectly but he's going to be gone. Dalton Kincaid would also be a great fit. Don't love any of the WR in this class likely to be available at #26. Would also be fine with building either line.

Again, let it come to us.

Hard pass on Bijan. I’m hoping a division rival takes him.

And- call me crazy- if there is a QB that slides- take him.
There is precedent for taking the QB of the future with an established QB on the team.
Dak is going to (unfortunately for us) get overpaid again for average late season play in all likelihood. The Hurts contract "hurts" us because it again resets the market. Do you want to give Prescott an AAV of close to $50 million?
I just want to go on record and say if Hendon Hooker makes it to #26, I'd roll the dice.
Know this is a likely pipe dream but not impossible.

Why would you pass on a consensus top 3 talent at #26. Even if you only get 5 years of great production and let him walk without giving a second contract, isn't it worth it?

I should have said that If he falls to 26, OK, but I don’t want to trade up to get him.

Every single draft I want to spend my 1st on either of the lines. I’d be Ok drafting a OLman EVERY 1st.

Who do you have in mind though? One of the top 4 QBs likely won't even make it out of the top 8, zero chance they're there at 26.

No other QB in the draft would be considered "sliding down to 26"

Wouldn't really call him "sliding to 26". Many have him in the 2nd round. But I'd be quite surprised if Dallas took Hooked at 26 if he's there.

I would as well, but there is precedent for taking your QB of the future while you have an established starter. Imagine what could be done if we let Dak walk after this contract. That’s 50 million, and perhaps more, off the books annually.

Hooker could do for us what Hurts did for Philly. He’s a legit prospect.

Here's my guess of what will happen:

Round 1: OL or DL
Rd. 2: Secondary
Rd. 3: TE
Rd. 4: RB
Rd. 5: WR

BPA after that.

If Bijan falls to 26, I'm all for taking him. However, Tyjae Spears (3rd?) Or Dwayne McBride (4th/5th) are pretty okay too.

McBride has some fumble issues but if he can correct that, easily a 2nd rounder IMO. Tyjae is just a dude that pops for me. I've watched his highlights and just think he's a sleeper in this draft.

I really don't feel pressured for any specific player this year but would like to see us shore up the O-line for the future. We could always use DL help. I'm not sure how I feel about TE and wouldn't be upset if we drafted one early. A lot of options, which allows us to go BPA throughout all the rounds with RB being the only identifiable need.

Hooker could do for us what Hurts did for Philly. He’s a legit prospect.

Hard pass.
I'm going to echo this sentiment. I'm not a Dak truther but I do believe he's in the 10-13 range for QB play and is absolutely a viable QB for the Cowboys. At this point, he has done nothing to show me he doesn't have all the characteristics of a good (not great) QB.

You're overdrafting a QB at #26 in Hooker and for what? Perceived moxie? Nothing we know about Hooker says he has the ability to get us over the hump. Put weapons around Dak, shore up the trenches and take a QB in the 5th or 6th (if you see talent). If we cut ties with Dak, the best thing you can give a young QB is a clean pocket and some weapons. We aren't going to get either of those things by blowing through first round picks on his successor.

Dak is young and will be our QB for the foreseeable future. I'd warm up to that, as a Cowboys fan.

No doubt it’s offense. Preferable one of the top two TE’s if they were to make it. If not, then OLine. (No way Bijon falls this far, but if so Jones would stiff arm kids and dive on the podium with that pick in record time!)
With Kellen Moore fired and MM taking over play calling, Jerry has to double down on making Dak and McCarthy successful after running his head about how great they both are.

I REALLY hope you’re wrong.

Gentleman…May I have your predictions.

There was a time that I knew a good amount about the top 20-30 players but these days I haven’t even heard of the top QBs.

I can only say what I wish for in order of preference for the 40th year straight:

OL/DL
CB
Defense
TE
WR
RB

Same

Happy Draft Day boys!

I think we are in a position to take bpa. I don’t watch college football much at all anymore and like steady I don’t know who alot of these guys are. If an OL falls that the “experts” say was a great pick I’ll be a happy man

🍺

Here are final thoughts:

I think history will show this as a disappointing draft class - from a high end talent POV. Due to this fact and it being shallow in certain positions, I think it will be a head scratching round one for many fan bases. Surprise picks galore.

My prediction(s) of what Dallas will do in order are:
Will McDonald
Jaymyr Gibbs
Myles Murphy
Dalton Kincaid (not likely there)
Michael Mayer (not likely there)

Hoping for:

No trade ups!!!!
Kancey or Robinson to fall to us.
Trade down please, I think there are solid, but unspectacular starters in the second(Avila, Hyatt, Mingo, Musgrave, O’Cyrus)

Gentleman…May I have your predictions.
Warming up to Mayer TE - Notre Dame.

I'm an ND fan and will say, he's the real deal. He really reminds me of Witten. Total package, great hands and deceptive route running.

I'd love Bijan to be there but don't see him getting to us. We lucked out with Micah and CeeDee falling in our laps. Nobody let's him fall to us.

Also wouldn't mind a LT if one falls.

Hoping for Tyjae Spears in the 4th. I really like Tank Dell as a day 2 pick. Guy is twitchy as hell.

i think you are going TE and RB early
What makes you think that?
Every mock has us taking a TE.
I should’ve been more specific, I meant the RB part of the post
I think it’s fair to say we need another RB.

Pollard coming off injury and a bunch of JAGs. McCarthy has also stated running the ball will be a bigger focus.

I could absolutely see Gibbs being the pick.

I can’t imagine they’re going to take a RB in any of the first 3 rds. We’ll see
