Dallas Cowboys Offseason Thread (1 Viewer)

No matter where McCarthy goes(except Cleveland, Vegas, or Carolina), it's gotta be a better workplace environment than Dallas.

He’s no spring chicken. He should have already known that before agreeing to join Dallas.
5 yeas ago, Dallas was still a premier coaching location. In those 5 years, it has become much more apparent to be a toxic work environment.

With that said, I certainly see your point.

Where I was coming from is I’m not sure I would ever want my boss to be Jerry Jones no matter how great the rest of the situation was.

BEN JOHNSON

BEN JOHNSON

BEN JOHNSON

Please at least try to get someone bright and cutting edge. Maybe he sucks. But that would be better than someone we know isn't good.

I have a haunting suspicion it will be Witten or Moore. Fits Jerry's need for subservience nicely.

And keeps us from having any actual hope for the next 4-5 years.

Vegas and insiders already say Deion.
Confirmed Jerry and Prime Time have already spoken.

That would be a very Jerry thing to do.

It's all about the headlines in Big D... winning is not required.
I don't agree. Jerry don't want to share the spotlight. Any eyes on Deion are not on Jerry.

Are you kidding. Jerry will still get to be Jerry and Deion will be featured on Get Up every Monday... clickbait wonderland for the Jones Gang.

I mean Jerry does like the spotlight but what exactly is so “toxic” about the Cowboys job?

I’m not a McCarthy fan, but I do admire the way his teams always play hard no matter the circumstances. Both this year and the year Dak got injured, his players didn’t quit and the team didn’t implode.

The Cowboys are usually poorly constructed because one or two injuries can wreck the entire plan due to a lack of depth.

They are a lot of things but toxic is not one of them .

Legit I think hiring Prime is the thing I need to finally break free from my hate/love relationship as a Cowboys fan. Jerry has ruined the team and that’s just icing.

And Deion will only take the job if he's coaching his son at QB, meaning the Cowboys would have to move Dak.
The resulting soap opera would be hilarious.

I callled Deion to Dallas years ago but that was before his kid came into the picture. I like Deion as a coach in the pros as I prefer my HC be the Jimmy Johnson player motivator guy.

No way Sander’s kid wants to play with his Dad as a grown *** man, does he?

Sheduer doesn’t exhibit grown *** man qualities imo, so it may be a desire.

He's not even that good. I'd rather have Dak.

8 million to buyout Deion.

Maybe thats why the rumors of McCarthy disagreeing on length of contract. Jerry probably told Mike, "Lets do another 1 year-er. "
Jerry also forcing MM to bring Witten on staff is being reported.

You can’t make this **** up.
I look forward to Dallas post Jerry. Until this happens it just constantly feels like the baby shark song playing on an endless loop.

Primes schtick wouldn't work in the NFL. In college he is the hype guy who can get college kids to come to campus. No salary cap. As long as there's money, he can get kids to campus.......I see him going to a school with more resources. He brings in the talent.....talent gets paid......talent is coached up by good football coaches that prime surrounds himself with. That's how prime is successful.

If prime goes to the NFL, I see it failing miserably.

This is pretty much how I feel......my level of caring about the Cowboys goes down each year. I pretty much watch the NFL for FF, and because I love the game. I find myself lately rooting for the Lions.....love Dan Campbell. I also root for Baker Mayfield. Was kinda bummed they lost to the commies.

The Cowboys organization kind of feels like it did at the end of the Landry era.........its not apples to apples. Jerrah has built an empire......but the football is stagnant. Until he's no longer GM, it will continue to stagnate, imo.

Im not so sure. Im shocked he manages to field a team at all when those kids have the ability to leave. NFL players wont have the luxury of entering the transfer portal and will either buy in or else. I think he gets more guys to buy in than not. He has the abilty to ask a lot of a player and also give that player their own space to do their thing as long as theyre putting in the work. (Hes not like Saban in that aspect)

Im not disagreeing with you entirely, just not as sure as you are.

Yeah, its the "helplessness" of it all. Not unlike Washington, things wont change until Jerry isnt pulling the strings. Unfortunately Jerry is gonna go out like Al Davis.

I could actually see Stephen bringing in football people and letting them do their thing.

Dak to the Giants to move up and get Sanders?
In no logical world does Deion and Shadeur to the Cowboys make any sense, but if this develops the trade would not be with the interdivision team picking #3, it'd be with the AFC team picking 2nd.

This is an entirely media driven story with very little chances of ever happening but Jerry has the TV crew talking about it during the middle of the playoff game.

He's an evil genius.

Call me sober, but I think Deion's coaching game will work better in the NFL than college as long as he doesn't ignore a good staff.

Prime is perfect for this current college atmosphere. It's all about hype, flash, social media, and money.....also being an African American HOF'er helps tremendously in recruiting.

I just don't see actual "pros" buying in as much.

All that said, I have no idea how good of an actual X's and O's coach Prime is. He just seems to be a hype machine to me.

At this point I'm rooting for Jerry's illegitimate daughter to wrest control of the team away when he shuffles off this mortal coil.

Hiring Deion Sanders for HC would be like bringing back the Cocaine Cowboys. That's why it should happen.
