Cowboys owner Jones: S Williams breaks arm again, out for year

Associated Press

ST. LOUIS -- Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams broke his right forearm for the second time Sunday in his first game back from the previous injury, and owner Jerry Jones said he'd miss the remainder of the season.

Roy Williams, S

Dallas Cowboys

Height: 6-0

Weight: 221

College: Oklahoma

Experience: 7th season

Williams, who has made five straight Pro Bowl teams, was hurt midway through the third quarter of a 34-14 loss to the St. Louis Rams. It was not clear how he was hurt.

Jones brought up Williams' injury while discussing the future after the Cowboys lost for the third time in four games. Jones said in times of adversity, he compiles lists.

"It's not a good thing when Roy Williams, our safety, makes the list and is out for the year," Jones said. "That's not a good thing to put on that list.

"The rest of the guys in this locker room, including the coaches and me, aren't out for the year."

Williams broke the forearm while making a special teams tackle against the Eagles in the second game of the season. He had missed three games.

Since they have 2 of the same name, maybe you should state that it was the safety, not the wr.

what Williams originally broke is termed a "night stick" fracture..... I did it myself two years ago.

Tough injury ... to heal it properly they either need to insert a plate or it is a lenghty time in a cast.

I am not sure what the Cowboys choose to do the first time he was out...

Yeah, because you are a force to be dealt with. God, being a Cowboy hater it is great the way this cartoon supplies ammunition week after week.

Seriously guys...do you think this was an honest mistake? Did he forget that they have a much more important Roy Williams on the roster? For a board full of savvy fantasy guys the first two posts i see when I pull up the pol tonight are:

1) Roy Williams Injured Out for Season

2) SJax Injured out 2-3 weeks.

How bout stop trying to be the next John Clayton and get the story right or accurately post it.

:goodposting:Easy there, skippy.

Wow. So all these people whose heart sank at the sight of the original thread title were left feeling sick until they inevitably opened the thread and within milliseconds saw that it was the Roy Williams of the Dallas defense, and the guy who made a simple oversight is being called out like he should be strung up and hanged. Entertaining thread though.

Upgrade Dallas' defense.
Seriously though. With all the injuries (and suspension loss) to dbs in Dallas, and watching the way the Rams played them today, should we start looking ahead and putting matchups vs the Cowboys as a great matchups?

Tough to say... the DB's have been hurting all year. Losing 3/4th the secondary and key backup most the year will do that.Speedy WR's (D Jax, S. Moss , Avery yesterday) will give them fits with the two rookies and Henry not being well suited to cover that type of WR.
