Seems like a fishing trip to me, but I guess I'll bite. Here's the deal, this is a fantasy football forum. Many guys here delve a bit deeper than "this guy just was moved up from the practice squad." We discuss pedigree, college production, measurables, injury concerns, positional competition, quotes from coaches and teammates, and basically everything under the sun in effort separate ourselves and our fantasy squads from the casual FFer who goes by broad unsubstantiated generalizations. You know, the schmucks who typically arrive 15 minutes after the train has left the station. There's always more to say about a player, and what there is to say may be the piece of information that is helpful for others in this forum not to miss that train. If you don't like that level of discussion or the process to help inform sharks (or maybe hawks), kindly move along. You are like that financial advisor who offers the sage guidance that a penny stock may or may not pan out. Worse yet, you are advising against looking at the financials or speculating on the outlook of a particular penny stock company- arguing they don't matter. People don't come here for that. People here are already aware of your generalizations.
So what you are saying is that you like to speculate. I don't have a problem talking about the things you posted above, but having such an opinion one way or another about this kid before he even gets in full contact drills and even gets on an active roster is very premature. Reading this thread, you are one of the most ardent supporters of Mr. Alexander, so I understand your animosity.
I am neither for nor against the success of Mr. Alexander. He has a long road ahead of him and he is in a great situation. But in this scenario, taking a wait and see approach is the best bet IMO. All I've said is stash him on your dynasty bench. That's it. I'm not going to say that he is going to catch 40 passes with 5 TD's this season. It isn't going to happen. 100% chance that it isn't going to happen. We can have a sig bet on that if you wish. If that is being negative or wishy-washy, then I would argue against that opinion. It isn't. It is just being rationale. It's being grounded. People are saying that he's a top 15-20 WR. Come on. These illusions of Mark Clayton granduer, within the body of Danario Alexander, are delusional.
I'm in a 32 team, 55 man active roster, 5 man PS dynasty league and I drafted him with my last rookie pick back in May. I've had him on my squad well before you. I'm not negative on the kid and I don't need to discuss a coach-speak, rehashed, blurb on rotoworld.com to help me leap to the conclusion that he's a top 20 WR. I wish him luck. I'm being grounded and helping those that may not know who he is to stay grounded as well. All the 'over-the-moon' talk about him in the thread is disturbing and it's easy to grow wings when the unfamiliar fawn over a new I.P.O.
