Danario Alexander (1 Viewer)

I'm on board with Danario, but PLEASE, stop the "DX" nonsense. Makes me feel like X-Pac is about to run in to deliver a chair shot to the opponent.

Hawks picked Alexander this week for free

Sharks will spend a week talking about Alexander in their who is hot wiaver wire pickup and have to burn their top waiver priority to get them.

Hawks win!!!

He was taken in all 12 of my dynasty leagues this week. Next week is little late to the party for serious players.I managed to get him in 5.

You come up with a better abbreviation, and I'm all for it, but I'm not typing Danario Alexander every time I want to discuss the guy, or even Danario. DX works well...

I'm happy he's done well, but I wouldn't give up the law career to be football prognosticator... All that proves is that you can now start prediction threads that rival LHUCKS now!?!?
Thanks for the pointer, toothy one.
I'm just sayin'So, uh, what do you predict next week? I picked him up in HA1, and left him on the bench this week...

Grabbed him in one dyno, couldn't bring myself to drop Decker or Doucet for him in the other ( :X ). Should get tons of opportunities this year, next year would be more interesting if everyone is healthy.

Seeing as you are very lazy and don't have the time to write out a person's name, I suggest taking vowels out of all the words you type. t rlly shrtns thngs nd llws y t spnd yr tm dng mr mprtnt tngs lk mkng ncrrct dcsns abt fntsy ftbll.

Just going with D would cut it by another 50% from DX.

I'll go with d. Lowercase D, don't have to hold shift. Another 50% less work.

Glad I picked him up due to this thread. He looked great on that TD catch. Can someone who's watching the game give some info on how they're using Alexander. Is he running the entire route tree, and are his targets coming all over the field, or are they only sending him downfield? Thanks

Yeah, I'm the only one who has ever used an abbreviation in the world. Should we eliminate all contractions as well as abbreviations too? You've never referred to Marion Barber as MBIII, Chris Johnson as CJ3, or Tomlinson as LT? If I do a search of your posts will I find out your a hypocrite? And maybe you shouldn't make assumptions that I made an incorrect decision. Just because I left him on my bench doesn't mean I made the incorrect decision. Maybe you should take less time admonishing people and spend more time working on logic. I'll help you out here. We have only a half of football so far. If my other WR's are Desean Jackson and Greg Jennings, did I make the incorrect decision? Or if I started Miles Austin and Randy Moss, did I make an incorrect decision? We done here, Glaven?

He's being used all over. His first catch was a short tight comeback route, the TD was over the top. With his size and his speed, you can sort of do all of the above with him, and that's what they seem to be doing.

You guys should fight more about nicknames.

So far, just being used on the left side for the most part. Got a short dump pass and a deep ball. Doesn't look like it's all over the field and all the routes, but also not completely limited. I've been trying to see if they have been using him on special teams, but haven't seen him yet. Although I'm also coordinating a project for work so I haven't been able to pay as close attention as I would like.

Yeah, it really adds so much to this thread. Thanks guys.Just picked up Danario. I was looking for someone to replace Clayton after he went down.

Cecil says:

- But he doesn't run great routes,... you CAN teach route running

- But he has trouble getting trough jambs on the line,... I disagree, I've seen a few of his games last season and he looked to be a lot more physical then in previous seasons. And if even he was having trouble there, thats not a hard one to teach either.

- His long strides, now thats not an easy one to fix, but it's not the worst trait in the world either. Most times, leg strength is a factor and that is obviously something he can control.

I'm not saying he's going to be the next great producer. But the kid does have talent, that is obvious. He wouldn't be the first kids someone at FBG missed on...
I think it's dangerous to oversimplify how difficult it is to play in the pros by stating 'you can teach that.'It's obvious that you're a fan of his game, and that's cool. My opinion is different.

Through extensive film study of almost every snap in his college career (and not YouTube highlights), plus in talking to people from the scouting community, I can firmly state that he doesn't have the explosion/burst/quickness of a star receiver at the pro level. Plenty of ultra-productive players in college football don't make it to stardom as pros.

Am I going to be correct on every player? No. But I will study more games on tape than most anyone else in the media, and work hard to really know a player's game. I am simply stating what I see from Alexander.
Cecil was correct about something at least...

From someone just checking into this thread for the first time... This comes off as bitter/sour grapes. Just sayin.
Agreed.. Alexander is a beast from what I've watched, he could end up a perennial top 10 WR..

Best to just let it go. If you had to keep track of every time a staffer was wrong about a player, you'd be up to your ears in it. I think in general, it's a safe bet to trust Cecil Lammey's word over many other staffers.

Not sour grapes at all. I picked the guy up. I'm a Rams and Mizzou homer. I just didn't think they guy would do much in his first game. But it's still a prediction on a message board. LHUCKS made a good one that first week too. Not so much the second week.BTW, I was defending DX to Cecil in the very beginning of this thread. I picked the guy up as soon as he was signed by the Rams. Where were you guys then?
