Darrell Jackson Injury info? (1 Viewer)

Canada: Beer, Bacon and Beavers
My keepers need to be in this weekend for our Wednesday night draft. The latest info stats he has not practiced, but HE feels optomistic about playing and being healthy week one.

He has had 2 knee surgeries this past year....

I have Lee Evans as a safety valve, and have our draft late (days before the season starts) is a bonus for this type of thing

I am concerned about the leg, but the FBG projections dont seem to be.

Any recent info out there?

Thanks

Parm

This is a big week. Nothing has changed over the past month. He's scheduled to practice this week. If he doesn't practice this week (Regardless I wouldn't expect him to see the field in week 4 of preseason action) I'll start to get worried.

There was actually talk of him practicing last week, but his doctor told him to hold off a week. Nothing to do with the knee, but his muscles around the knee haven't come back enough yet.

Again, this is a big week. Expect to see him practice, or start to worry.

I like reading Clare Farnsworth at the PI more, but Sando at the TNT posts more stuff including his blog that gets several entries per day.

 Thanks!

I heard he has a hemmorhoid, and is waiting for that to subside before he puts his jock strap on. He is also asking for Seattle to re-sign his buddy Koren.

He looked awesome in the playoffs. I'd miss as much of the preseason as possible to get fully healed.

Fringe #1/great #2 this year.

How many games would you have to play to be considered a "great #2"He has had TWO knee surgeries within the last year...health has to be an issue here for this season

I don't trust him to play all 16 games, either. Never had the chance to draft Darrell, but Burleson is buried on two of my rosters.

A bit off topic, but has anyone noticed that Burleson is 3rd on Ourlads and Seahawks depth charts?

I like DJax a lot too but what I don't understand is why he's such a huge injury concern and he never seems to slide down draft boards because of it? Starting RBs like D. Foster and F. Taylor slide way down and they are perfectly healthy right now but when it comes to DJax who is injured right now and it seems to be an injury that could effect him all season he isn't downgraded? I'm staying away!!

Not downgraded?? The guy put up studly numbers every game he was in last year.

He's around 12-15 in most rankings. Nothing wrong with that.

Great ranking for a healthy guy that could/would play 16 games. He hasn't practiced, is coming off of 2 surgeries, and it is a week to game day....12-15 is pushing it a bit I think.

DJax = DDavis of WR'sAnyone think Jackson will play at all this year? I am having my doubts. Burleson owners are in great shape, though.

This is from the Post-Intelligencer 8/29:

HAWK TALK: Wide receiver Darrell Jackson was sent home with flu-like symptoms. The plan is for Jackson and defensive tackle Marcus Tubbs to begin practicing following the Raiders game and have them ready to play in the opener against the Lions.

Is DJax officailly the softest player in NFL history? At this point, its impossible to argue otherwise.

Guys, let's have a little perspective here. Seattle has their sights set on the Super Bowl. It is in their best interests to ahve D-Jax as healthy as possible during the year. Practicing really is not going to do a whole lot of good for him. They are still running the same offense with the same personnel that they always have. Nothing has really changed enough to risk playing him before Week 1.

Holmgren said he feels good about the safety position even after losing Mike Green to a season-ending foot injury. The re-emergence of Ken Hamlin is the primary reason. Hamlin missed most of last season with head injuries. ... Seattle’s defensive backs dropped several chances at interceptions Tuesday. Offensive and defensive players generally crank out 10 pushups following each drop, leading Holmgren to note that the Seahawks must be leading the league in pushups. Cornerback Gerard Ross responded with an interception for a touchdown, picking off Seneca Wallace’s pass for D.J. Hackett. ... C.J. Jones slipped behind cornerback Kelly Jennings for a 50-yard touchdown grab from Wallace. Jennings had broken up Wallace’s pass to Jones earlier in practice. ... Players who dropped passes: Maurice Mann and Justin Surrency. ... Running back Maurice Morris (ankle) and strong safety Michael Boulware (knee) were back at practice. Receiver Darrell Jackson was back at team headquarters after missing one day with an illness. ... Left tackle Walter Jones (shoulder) worked on conditioning by running sprints on another field during practice. Defensive tackle Russell Davis (foot) did some light running out of his stance. ... Tuesday snapshot: The second-team defense consisted of left end Joe Tafoya, left tackle Craig Terrill, right tackle Chris Cooper and right end Darryl Tapp. The linebackers were D.D. Lewis, Niko Koutouvides and Kevin Bentley. The secondary featured left cornerback Jennings, strong safety Oliver Celestin, free safety Jordan Babineaux and right corner Jimmy Williams.

This is all very true. The flip side, however, is that there have been very few positive developments with regard to Jackson for the past several months. Given the fact it's nearly a year since his injury and he still isn't even practicing it's very difficult -- at least for me -- to feel good about him going into this season. Like I said, I'm a DJax fan and I'd love to have him on my team but the only way he will be is if he represents terrific value. No way I'm drafting him at his current ADP. He's way too risky in my opinion.

Even Barbaro had the sense to know when he was finished, and he's a freaking horse!

Hang it up DJax, you bum!

nah, if he were healthier, he'd be ranked around #7 or 8.

So back at headquarters means continuing rehab or atucal practice?

Yes but when you hear he has a weird muscle mass in his thigh after surgery it makes you pick up Bobby Engram just in case.

So, I figured out quickly that you were a Chester Taylor basher and now I find that you are a Jackson basher. Are there other players that you hate for no apparent reason or is this it? Just wondering how many other lame posts we can all look forward to.

:lmao: he did not have a weird muscle mass. "muscle mass" does not equal tumor. "muscle mass" equals amount of muscle. they didn't think his muscle was strong enough yet.
