Darren McFadden, RB, Oakland Raiders (1 Viewer)

anything more to say about this guy?

Can anyone sell me on taking him out of the MJD, Mendanhall, Gore, Turner group that sits at the end of the first / early second round?

PPR?If you were to tell me he was definitely going to be healthy and start all 16 games, I'd say without a doubt that he'd outscore those guys. He's that talented.

got this guy in round 2 of a .5 ppr. I am hoping for good things. Wish we could have seen him in preseason but its probably for the best that he does not play

Drafted him in the mid-2nd last night as my RB1. I'm a little nervous because I missed out on Michael Bush, however, maybe Taiwan Jones steps into his role if he happens to go down. Hopefully we don't have to worry about that. DMac should be a stud in the Al Saunders/Hue Jackson O.

McFadden is the best RB in the NFL right now. It's that simple. Peterson has an argument but I think McFadden has passed him. He just dominated one of the best D's in the NFL. He's no longer just dominating the Broncos. His runs look like a kid playing a video game.

Been saying this all along this summer. But that's just homer talk, eh?

I've been a big McFadden supporter for... well ever I guess. I'm with you. I've pimped him since his Arkansas days. Don't confuse me with EBF...I'm pretty sure either he or Rice will be your #1 RB this year. McFadden looking like he's the favorite.

DMC2K?

He looked like he was in some discomfort . No word on the injury. I am sure its something we will hear about as they start to practice .

Coach Hue Jackson said after Sunday's Week 3 game that Darren McFadden suffered a groin injury.

We're not sure the severity of the injury or when it occurred, but this could potentially be a big blow for the streaking rusher. We'll bring you an update when we find out more.

McFadden said he's fine, that his groin just tightened up. - Steve Corkran

ETA: That's encouraging news for the Raiders.

You guys are underestimating McCoy in the 'best RB in the NFL' discussion.

#1: McCoy

#2: McFadden

#3: ADP

#4: Ray Rice

I hate the Eagles, but if you see this guy run, there's nobody better at making people miss. McFadden is close though.

I know it's still early but this Shark Pool is without a doubt the best resource for fantasy football. It was this thread that convinced me to take him when I had to choose between him and Mendenhall. I live in Philly so it's not like I get to see many Raiders games. This thread convinced me to target him. I typically go for the talent over the mediocre player on the better team. Somebody had a quote something along the lines of, "He's faster than Peterson and stronger than Johnson." Spot on!

And so far he is blowing those guys away.

Fixed!

"My groin tightened up a bit" - Things Darren McFadden can say at his office that you really shouldn't say at yours.

MCFADDEN SHINES ONCE AGAIN

McFadden came into his own last season, when he rushed for a career-high 1,157 yards. The things he does with the ball is of no surprise to anyone.

Against the Jets, McFadden ran past, through, around and over defenders to the tune of 171 yards and the two touchdowns.

He might have piled up even more yardage were it not for a tight groin that sidelined him late in the game.

McFadden said his groin tightened up but that he expects to be fine. He has 393 yards rushing through three games and is well on his way to shattering the total he reached last season.

“It just shows what our team can do,” McFadden said. “If we come out here and play week in and week out, we can play with anybody in the league.”

For those of you who drafted him as your RB1 and are patting yourselves on the back, this is the other part of his reality. Durability? Not so much.

Still patting myself on the back. Will insert Bush with confidence although DMC says he will be fine.

they always say this. muscle strains are killers. even if he is fine, i cant share the excitement in this thread since i am the moran who took him over mccoy.

:goodposting:Bush and McFadden combined for RB #2 numbers last season. (ETA: just counting the numbers in the games started by each guy.)

I'm patting like crazy, thanks. Sorry you can't do the same. Reality is he's awesome. And if he's out, I'll play Bush.

I'd take any of the 3 (plus ADP).
Yeah but DMC was the only one that didn't cost a top 5 pick.
Ok but he definitely was drafted within the first 15 picks. Not too much variability there......
Wrong. I got McFadden at pick 2.08 or 20 overall.

I got McFadden at pick 19. I was shocked he was there as I pegged him at mid first round . If I had pick 6-7 I was going to take him. I had grabbed Foster with my first pick and had planned to take a WR like Hicks or Vincent there but seeing McFadden sitting there it totally changed my plans and worked out well considering Foster is out I have McFadden replacing him and if/when Foster gets healthy a Foster/Dmac RB duo should be decent.

Strikingly similar to my draft - took Foster 1.1 in a ten team league, got Fitz/DMC at the 20/21 turn.

You may be a "moran", but it isn't because you took DMC over McCoy.DMC is the most talented RB in the league. He can make people miss AND/OR run over them. McCoy can't do that.

Not saying he will be out of course, but I own DMC and I play the Mike Bush owner this upcoming week. Seems like that type of scenario never fails to happen.

:ptts:

But more importantly, McFadden looks incredible so far.
