Daughters new band covers Alanis Morissette (1 Viewer)

Damn man, this is great!  When the distancing is done I'd drive to Brew City to come check them out.  Do they have any plans to tour?

Holy moly. You almost lost me at "_____ covers Alanis Morissette" but I've heard Daughter Pack before and figured I owed it to myself to check in.

Not disappointed. She has an incredible voice. You must be proud; she must be proud of her gift.

Way to go all around!

Was gonna just listen to a bit to get the feel for it but listened to the whole thing, then down the rabbit hole of other videos I went.

Such a talented group.

Are there any songs where she harmonizes with anyone else?  She's got a killer voice, as do others in the band.  I'll keep looking, but if you know of one where they do some harmonies I'd love to listen.

There are a coupe yes, I'll have to find them

Thanks guys, she's read all of your compliments and say's you guys are really so kind and sweet!

@bigbottom she says hi and still remembers you giving her some advice back in her early days.

Yay!! Sounds like Merissa's voice is back on full & that's great. These are the guys she's been w last year or so, right? Bands are where it lives. That lead guitarist is a find - his Fender plinketyplinks are a perfect foil for her voice & he can cut loose pretty good, too. Hope she's still writing. Great stuff -

Very cool!  She has really grown as a singer and as an artist.  And she is now surrounded by an incredible ensemble of musicians. Her future is bright!

Love her voice. It seemed like it was going to be too smooth to cover Alanis but then I was just so impressed with the edge that she put on the i couldn't helllllp iiit... it's all yooouuur fauuult. That's what put this over the top from "able to hit every note" to "i want to listen to that again later". Which i did and will again.  Really great.

yeah i think we are going to need some more links and stuff now brohan take that to the bank

Oh man, I nearly forgot Alanis had songs I actually liked (“You Oughta Know” just got overplayed in my youth).  This was awesome.

Also, 90s cover band?  I’m in!

Has she/will she be at Mile of Music in Appleton, WI this year?  Seems like a good event to get exposure

I was gonna suggest this, too.  I lived in Appleton basically my whole life up until a few years ago.  Awesome event.

Pretty cool.  Do they gig here locally (when we're not quarantined)?
They are scheduled to play State Fair on August 7th, 11am-3pm at the Budweiser Pavillion.

Thank you to all for the kind words, I'll pass them on!

A Summerfest gig is pending as well

The just released another one.

You outta know

You raised Merissa too well to do that right. Notes are all there, the arrangement is great, but we're missing the fast-twitch rage of the original.

If it's the 90s theyre mining, might i recommend 10,000 Maniacs? Good songwriting & arrangements, Natalie Merchant & your daughter are tonally similar, but those songs could use the removal of Merchant's tremolo & pomposity

Love that band.  Headstrong might be my favorite Maniacs tune.  Agree, I bet Pack Daughter could do a mean Merchant.

Thanks wikkid. She agrees. I'll talk to her about those two.
