Daunte Culpepper (1 Viewer)

Was the first three weeks the norm for what we can expect out of Daunte this year? Or, is he having trouble learning a new system / recovering from an injury?

Bottom line, what can we expect from Culpepper for the remainder of this season? I am hoping that he breaks out against the Texans on Sunday.

I figured it would take a while for him to get used to the offense. Plus the O-line has been terrible. I drafted hum figuring he wouldn't do much until the second half of the season.

That's my thinking. I was just offered Pepper for Plummer straight up. I think that Daunte will get on track within the next few weeks.

His last decent game was in 2004. Since then he has twice as many INTs as TDs. Might be time to give up.

He can't read a D very well. Unless Moss comes to Miami forget about it.
Chris Chambers isn't chopped liver.
Chris Chambers is a 5-11 gifted WRRandy Moss is a 6-4 physical freak of natureUnless Moss or another tall physical freak lands in Miami, Culpepper will not regain his form. (So, when Calvin Johnson is drafted by Miami, CPep will be golden again)

This is the norm.

Anyone predicting Super Bowl for the Dolphins never took the time to analyze this team. They were terrible last year, and adding a mediocre QB in an offense that lacks a running back and receivers who can catch with any consistency breeds failure.

When Ronnie Brown can become a more decisive runner, when Chris Chambers can catch more than half the balls thrown to him, and when Culpepper doesn't force-feed the ball to his primary read when the game is on the line... only then will you see a changed squad.

They are very likely to go about 5-11. Last season Ricky was there to save them, but the same cannot be said for this year.

Do not expect change this year. The Dolphins will be trash for the next 2-3 years while Saban guts and rebuilds the defense and guts and rebuilds the offense.

You can't blame him for bringing in Culpepper and Brown and Jason Allen, all of whom he thought were quality players. Saban is a great football coach, but he is not the greatest talent evaluator, and the sooner he realizes this, the better off this team will be.

Unfortunately for Culpepper, Brown, Chambers, etc owners, there really isn't much you can do except put them on your bench. They are all sell-low targets right now, and no one wants to put an ailing skill player on their team.

It doesn't look good, but hopefully he can have a really big game this weekend and use that to continue to improve.

Because he really doesn't look good right now.

I've always felt C-Pep has missed Scott Linehan much more than Randy Moss.

I expect the days of the old Duante Culpepper will continue to fade to memories.

I thought Daunte looked pretty good against the Steelers in week 1 until he threw those 2 picks late in the game.

The guy is in a new system and coming off of major knee surgery. I'm willing to wait until the second half of the season before I draw any conclusions.

:lmao: Ronnie is a top 10 back in most PPR leagues. Actually I love your posts, because they are so exactly wrong most of the time that I can figure out what to do by zigging when you zag. How's Cadillac been treating you this season?

I am agonizing over benching him tomorrow, but I feel CARR IS THE SAFER BET. Unbelievable, but after last week's disappointment, I;m shelving him even against these creampuffs.

Carr is never a safe bet!
Culpepper fpts through three weeks - 7, 15, 14Carr - 18, 29, 19

SafeR?
Thinking about benching him for Carr myself. :wall:
Made that exact move myself this week...Carr in for Culpepper. Carr's first startfor me after 4+ years on my bench/practice squad.Culpepper is beyond just "not performing" he looks really bad. Until he shows me something, I'm playing the matchups, giving the close calls to Carr.

I'm doing it without hesitation. I know Carr can at least get 250 and a TD. At this point, that's not guaranteed with Culpepper, even against the worst pass D in the league. He looks L O S T.

He probably looked good to you because you are a Steelers fan and your objectivity was blurred by fear of losing.... however, as a guy who was starting him for my fanatasy team, I can assure you he looked like #### :) He was missing passes by 15 feet.... I am sitting here trying to determine whether to play him, Pennington or Grossman today....

So far, so good and Carr's INT should NOT be ruled an INT. Ball was stripped from the receiver after a complete pass. Can't complain.

I am another owner with both Culpepper and Carr as his QBs...

SO FAR, I have a slim lead in spite of my idiotic move to start Daunte... but we shall see...

Stick a fork in Daunte though. He's not worth anything right now unless he really shows me otherwise.

How long is his leash? He's not solely responsible for the 1-3 start (the O-line has been awful, the playcalling is kind of a dud) but Culpepper looks slow, indecisive, and sloppy. Is his injury/recovery worse than stated?

I can't see how Harrington could be any worse. Yikes, never thought I'd type that this season.

I think that the original projections were that he wouldn't even be throwing until roughly the first month of the season was over. So he's WAY ahead of schedule as far as playing...now that's not necessarily a good thing, judging by the lack of success that he's shown so far.He realisticly can only get better as his health improves, his chemistry with teammates improves, and his offensive line improves. As bad as Culpepper has looked (and that's damn bad), there's no reason to switch to Harrington. It's not like the Dolphins are going anywhere this season, it's all for the future right now. And culpepper is the future, not Joey.

Do you guys remember the offseason 2 years ago when I told you this time and time again? And I got bashed over and over again by everyone telling me how accurate he is and how hes so tough to bring down.Yeah, its fun to gloat about that now. Maybe I'll see if I can find that thread.
