You can't rank rookie RBs before they are drafted...a RB could be ranked high and go to a crummy team and just suck... so that gives you the right to say "HA you can't rank players"Wait until after the draft and I have no problem ranking rookie RBs.

Certain RBs are put in situations where they can flourish, and some may be ranked high but drafted to sit for a year...

For example, let's say McFadden goes to OAK or NYJ, Mendenhall goes to DET, and Stewart goes to HOU. Okay, so McFadden and Mendenhall will have to share time with RBs already there on hefty contracts. Fargas was the starter last year and did well- just signed a new deal, ploys to motivate T. Bell seem to be working as he's predicting 1300 and 15. So we go to HOU. Sure, A. Green signed a hefty deal last year but got hurt. Watching him in GB I'll tell you he's done. Mop up duty at best. He'll be cut after this season. So enter Stewart... quite possibly the best all around back in the draft. 235, 4.4 40, reminds me of Frank Gore, but better and bigger. So let's say Stewart has the best year of all of them. But I ranked him #3 behind these two... so then I get slack for my rankings?

Ranking rookies is completely stupid because it all depends on where they end up and how quickly they grasp the offense. The transition from NCAA to pro is bigger than you or I have any idea about.

While I appreciate and use the Draft Dominator, I think the Lineup Dominator, Trade Dominator, Wife Dominator, or whatever will be new this year, is a little much. Anyone who actually USES those other programs puts WAY too much time into their fantasy football and needs to get a life, girl, a beer, a friend, or any of the combination of the above.

But, to just shut you up because I think he's right on with the 13 year old wind up doll... you being such a young kid probably won't give up until someone just shuts you up so you can gloat, or whatever. I can picture you now- on the bus on the way home from school looking out the window "oh boy I can't wait to get home and make a post in the football guys forum and try to be popular online..." Then how come Bowe played better than him? Opportunity.Okay, they're both first rounders. How about Colston's rookie year? Was he really a 7th round WR? Or was a lot of his success due to the fact that he had a HUGE opportunity in NO with a new QB, new RB, new coach... maybe that's it. Rankings mean nothing. To further prove my point- take a look at last year's rankings for fantasy football in general. How many of those were correct? Probably not very many. Further goes to show how rankings shouldn't be taken with more than a grain of salt. So are those who do them on crack? No. Honestly, they probably (1), get paid to do it, so why not! It's like being paid to be a friggin weather man, doesn't matter if you're wrong or right as long as you're close and you sound like you know what you're doing. And if they aren't getting paid, then (2), whoever is doing the rankings have WAY too much time on their hands that they've got to waste it ranking players... no one is ever 100% right... no one is ever 75% right... in fact I'd be surprised if there was someone 50% correct in their rankings. Rankings are best used as a tool for fantasy players to pick their guys. They are by no means correct. Mel Kiper ranks players before the draft... yes, he gets paid to do it. And all of us get sucked in like we're supposed to becasue that is strictly for entertainment. NFL teams have their own guys on their own payroll... they dont look at that. Rankings are really pointless... how many draft picks have been busts? How many successes? How many of those successes have been first round picks?

That's my point- no one can rank any better than me or you or the next guy. Sure, you can do research and spend 8 hours a day doing it for a job, but in the end a guess is a guess. The reason these sites exist is because no one, myself included, wants to take the time to put in an effort to make educated guesses on rankings. It gives us a way to look at many different peoples' opinions on who will be ranked where at every position and we can build our own rankings from that. I laugh at the people who complain about FBG's rankings and how their team sucks this year because of it. It's a guide, not a fact of who will be ranked where. You'll find one guy ranked 5th here and 11th on a different site... kind of a large standard deviation if you average all the rankings out on a specific player...It's just a guide... no use crucifying someone (pun not intended on this holy day) for not gettign rankings correct "oh hahaha look at that loser he predicted Tom Brady to finish 4th among QBs last season and he finished 1st...." BIG DEAL!I'm done with this thread. You can dwell on rankings if you want. But in the end they're just guesses. And my guess is as good as yours.

That's my point- no one can rank any better than me or you or the next guy. Sure, you can do research and spend 8 hours a day doing it for a job, but in the end a guess is a guess. I laugh at the people who complain about FBG's rankings and how their team sucks this year because of it. It's a guide, not a fact of who will be ranked where. You'll find one guy ranked 5th here and 11th on a different site... kind of a large standard deviation if you average all the rankings out on a specific player...It's just a guide... no use crucifying someone (pun not intended on this holy day) for not gettign rankings correct "oh hahaha look at that loser he predicted Tom Brady to finish 4th among QBs last season and he finished 1st...." BIG DEAL!I'm done with this thread. You can dwell on rankings if you want. But in the end they're just guesses. And my guess is as good as yours.

I agree 100% with you.Until the NFL Draft is over and all pre-season games are done. We won't know if McFadden,Stewart or Mendenhall will be starting week 1.Rankings now are for fun, but mean nothing.
