David Dodds' Eye (1 Viewer)

Footballguys | Baker Back in the Fold - from www.KFFL.comTue, 26 Oct 2004 17:59:44 -0700Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports David Baker is likely to be in the mix once again due to the team's loss of David Dodds (eye) for Tuesday. Baker has been a healthy inactive scratch for the team each of the last two games, but now the team is slim at the update position due to the loss of Dodds. I just hope Dodds isn't a dreaded game time decision.

My brother has an uncle who delivers mail there. He says Dodds is just holding out for better benefits

Jeeze!  Suck it up, man!  Shilling pitches with sutured ankle, Fiedler & E.Johnson plays w/ cracked ribs. Put a friggin eye patch on and crank out the material!
iam squinting one eye shut as i type this. how hard can it be to type? :rotflmao:only kidding

Clayton is reporting on ESPN radio that FBG founder Joe Bryant has been conducting tryouts to fill in for David Dodds. Rumors are that Wheelhouse has been brought in and that the league might even suspend Dodds for substance abuse (visine).

It seems that all the info dates are being moved to the right... Would be so nice to have most of the info before noon on Fridays..

Dodds = injury prone
Classic :rotflmao:
I said back in June that Dodds had hit 40 and that Fantasy writers with that statistical writing style were bound to be injured sooner or later. Anyone who didn't see this coming just wasn't listening. You must respect my authority! ;)

I guess we'll have to see David "One Eyed Willie" Dodds listing himself as questionable on the injury report this week. I guess I'll have to start Barlow again. ;)

FYI...Dodds will only be used as a decoy this week. FBG will trot him out to maintain his streak, but he won't be a viable contributor this week.

Tuesday, October 26thNote from David Dodds: I am struggling with an infected right eye today. I am able to work for about 3 minutes at a time before taking a break. I am taking medicine, but also am suppose to rest. Normal Tuesday material has been moved to Wednesday so that my eye can hopefully improve. I apologize for the delay.David,Send me an email if you need help.Bionic Eyeball :pirate:

Thanks for disclosure Dodds. You gotta stop surfin' those adult sites...I hope no *isses and moans about a one day delay. It should make absolutely no difference to anyone midweek.

Some humorous, Some not. The man gives us all a straight up, Honest explanationof his situation and people rag on him. I can tell you all this, I have sent DD e-mails twice, Both were very late at night his time, And I received answers from him both times in less than an hour. Give the man a break !!!!!!!!!!!!!!His eyes are all *u*c*e* up because he puts in too many hours a day trying to give all of us the information we crave to win our leagues.O.K., Enough being nice, Get back to work DD, You could have HEMROIDS !!!Cleavage

OFFENSIVE UPGRADES:

I HERD that Capella sent Pepto Bismal to the staff of Fanball....

COLin
Was he cooking again? He really needs to identify which dishes he makes at the staff potlucks.

He'll be fine. I was at the office and saw the whole thing. The problem is, there was this kid with a BB gun, right outside in the hallway. He gets two shots off (actually aiming at Indians) before his mom stopped him..... ;)

This just in: Dodds' condition downgraded to doubtful... wait... make that double vision.Sorry. It's even harder to read with one eye than it is to type. :X

I did not complain, but I can also accept that with a staff this size now, someone should pick up the slack and post the needed content.Maybe Dave could narrate it to them while they type it - I don't know.I like Dave and I value his opinion. It's also the main reason I pay him - which would give me the right to complain should I choose to do so.I hope Dave feels better.Colin, Jason, whoever - go post the content for the freaks.Editted to add - this thread is hilarious. Some of you guys crack me up. Peeps starting to gopher as I crack up across the cube farm. :rotflmao: :pics: :pirate:

:jokingoff:I believe that Dodds is one of the full time staffers on FBG and, correct me if I'm wrong,Joe, Drinnen, and Wood. David oversees alot of the other writers and proofs theirs reports, along with Joe. They're on a shoestring budget as is now. I would rather have Dodds get well and give me quality product, rather than have something rushed out just to satisfy a deadline. My 2 cents. :jokingon:I read in another forum that Dodds could be fired from FBG after this week if he lists Culpepper as the #1 QB again. The guy that posted it has a cousin who's wife's sister knows a guy who delivers mail to the FBG office and overhead Joe discussing it thru the mailslot so I'm pretty sure it's reliable

Wow, this thread is still going strong? What, did David give Shick pink eye or something, and now he can't put an end to this madness?Oh well, since it's here...

Who can tell me how Dodd's eyes were in his college days?Is he a good buy low candidate with this status?
If there's anyway you can pry Dodds from someone else, you should. If you're the owner, no way you'll ever recoup what you paid for him, so you're better off holding on to him. Be prepared, these things can linger. But having said that, as long as he's back to 2 eyes for the playoffs, you'll have a bonafide stud.

This just in...CBS Sportsline is reporting that DDodds will be placed on IR and will be lost to the team for the season. FBG is said to have previously started talks with Mel Kiper Jr. to be a permanent replacement. It seems that FBG's primary interest in Kiper is they like to see an upgrade in the hairstyle category. Early word has it that Dodds got a tip on this and was working on his "do" and actually injured his eye by accidentally spraying Alberto VO5 into his eye.More info and link to follow... :fro:

Consider the source...

What is Dodds going for in your league?

I have been offered = COlin, Wood, and a first round pick on next years staff

I give = Dodds, Levin, and Shick!

I think I may pull the trigger on this one. Dodds has a history of injuries. They don't call him "Delicate Dodds" for nothing. I just don't know. Please help will answer yours!

Gee I don't know. A bet they can help you out in the A/C FORUM!!!!(honda?...)

Give me a break. Sure Dodd is a Deadline Time Decision, but Dodd is only listed as QUESTIONABLE. It would be just like FBG to pull a Shanahan/Tice. By 2:00 PDT, he'll be upgraded by Probable. And just when you're ready to bench him, he'll start and post his best material YTD.

I don't know. The premium content page is still deader than a mackeral, so I'm saying he's out.

I vote for Dodd's having until Thursday or even Friday morning. You come back too quickly from an injury and it's the IR for you. We can't have that. :D

I never actually did find out what happend to Stuart Scott, anyone care to inform me? All I know is that he can look in two different directions at once.

Is Dodds merely pulling a Mike McKenzie and holding out with an "injury" so that he can get traded to Yahoo! Sports or ESPN Fantasy Games (or the soon to be launched expansion franchise Google Fantasy Football Service)? Can someone get John Clayton on the phone?

The writers these days are so pampered. They don't appreciate that the rest of us hard working Americans would give our right eye to get paid millions of dollars just to play a game. Instead, they take it for granted and refuse to play hurt or hold out. Have we missed any other message board cliches in this thread??

Top 200 posted. Dodds lives.editing to add, I'm assuming the reversed columns were intentional to mock us, Dodds.
