It really depends on your situation. If I am in last place with a terrible team I am sitting on him unless I get an unreal offer. His value will not get any lower then it is and my team is going no where this season anyways. If I am 0 - 2 with a good team that had some bad luck, I might move him to a rebuilding team for a piece that helps me win now.

My personal situation is this, I am 1 - 1 in my dynasty league, I have very good running back depth so I can afford to sit on him, however I have received a few emails inquiring about him. I would be willing to trade him for help right now, but I will not sell low on him and I consider my team to be one of the top 4 in the league and I wouldn't trade him to any of the teams I consider in that top 4 with me without getting back a major piece in return.

I'm actually 2-0 despite starting this guy week 1. What would I trade him for? In my league, being salary cap/contract league, we are much more conservative. Can't grab a guy every week off the WW as whomever you cut has to be counted against the cap. Nobody has come to me with an offer for him, and if they did it would be too low for me to trade him. The situation is still too good. They can;t keep sending Eli out there to throw a handful of picks a game because nobody is at all worried about the run. They have to make teams worried about the run. Some in this thread have argued that Wilson can't do that. I believe otherwise. AS LONG AS HE HOLD ONTO THE DAMN BALL!

I feel your pain, we have a deep starting line up in this league with 2 flex spots, due to injuries I maybe forced to start him this week, it is early but deciding between him, Randle, or Rainey. Of course this is all moot if Vernon Davis can go this weekend

Okay, but at 0-2 jobs are on the line. I'm sure that reason #1 is no longer the case. #2, Trade a 6th or 7th for him or wait until he might get released(according to your #3 he won't be happy as T-Rich's backup so he'll want out anyways). If he gets hurt then so be it, but he's a decent band aid option that knows the system and can play right away. No biggie if he gets hurt again, plus Andre Brown will be back later this year so the Giants would just need him to stay healthy for a few games. #3, I'm sure he'd get more touches in NY right now compared to Indy, I'm sure this off-season and the T-Rich trade opened up his eyes a bit.

1) well, they may still may like Wilson long term but don't feel he's ready short term and I'm sure they'd like a do-over considering how the RB position has turned out this year.

2) Bradshaw wouldn't be the bell cow and likely got dealt a good dose of reality as a free agent who likely had a higher opinion of himself than the role/money he landed.

3) he just lost his job to TRich and he was in a timeshare with superstar Vick Ballard so a timeshare with Wilson at this point would be a step up.

Bradshaw was a Coughlin favorite. He was admired for his toughness and desire and the way he would play through injury.

I think it was the second time he's yelled at coaches during a game. It's not the reason he was let go.

Look at what the Giants put up with from Osi and they kept him well beyond his times of being disruptive and when they could have unloaded him.

Same with Jacobs when he complained about losing the starting job to Bradshaw.

I just want that one day of 5 pages of posting in here when he finally goes off. On a serious note, this progress right now is not that surprising really. Wilson was boom or bust, there was not much of a middle ground. On day one he busted. Coughlin's doghouse has a typical timeline of between 2 to 6 games based on what he has done to RB's or WR's who do dumb things. This is hopefully the calm before the storm, those of you writing him off already is way premature I think. Hopefully he gets back on the field regularly so we can see what his floor really is. His ceiling is irrelevant for now pending some semblance of production.

If anyone goes off in this game it will likely be the receivers for NY and Olsen/Smith for Carolina.

While I'd like to agree I don't think we 'really' know what the Carolina front 7 holds yet. I think if Wilson gets some real playing time this week it can be telling. While they did shut down Lynch they got carved up by Spiller. Wilson is a much closer comparison to Spiller than Lynch. Lynch is just a massive wrecking ball he isn't particularly fast and not a good outside runner. Where as Spiller and Wilson are the complete opposite. They're good inside runners but really excel at outside runs. That's where Spiller really tore up Carolina last week. All of his runs were bounced to the outside.

I think Coughlin will be pressured into at least running Wilson early and seeing how it works out. I'd expect him to see 5-8 carries in the first quarter. And then they'll adjust based on his effectiveness from there. If he's going 1.3ypc on 8 carries he'll probably not do much more but if he's popping off 5-10 yard clips every run then he could see around 18-20 on the game. The Giants NEED to establish a running game. This is a must win game for them, thinking of it from say a fantasy purpose. Wilson is the 'upside' play, they have to just put all the chips in the middle and pray for the ace on the river here.

i don't think coughlin feels the least bit of pressure to do anything in particular with wilson at all

they didn't get carved up by Buffalo.. would have only been 100yds total between Spiller, Jackson, and Manuel until Spiller broke that long 46 yd run, and watching the game the Bills weren't exactly running all over the place until the injuries began to plague Carolina in the 2nd half... biggest concern with Carolina right now is there completely banged up secondary.. and i think it bodes well for Giants WR

Another important difference between the Giants and the Bills is that noone was expecting the Bills to pass a lot. Their main weapon is the run with the spiller/jackson one two punch. For the Giants it's the pass game.

I guess I just didn't take Gilbride's comments to mean that the Giants were planning on showing any kind of commitment to the running game or certainly to Wilson. Color me skeptical I guess until he does have his "breakout" game. He'll be doing it on my bench. I would absolutely love it if I were wrong and he does go off this week. My gut is telling me that the matchups down the field this week will ultimately prove too inviting to see that long awaited commitment to the run at least for this week.

My gut is telling me that the matchups down the field this week will ultimately prove too inviting to see that long awaited commitment to the run at least for this week.

All Giants coaches and players are saying they need to be more balanced on offense. That they have to run the ball. They're all saying it has been little break downs, a different guy on each play failing to do what he's supposed to that has caused the dismal results.

Coaches think they will get it fixed and once they do they will run more than they have to make the offense balanced.

Wilson is a terrible play against Carolina. Their front seven is playing tops in league right now and I don't expect any of the Giants backs to be able to get anything going on the ground. Since Cam's accuracy is non-existent and the Giants have a decent D-line, I could see a stinker of a game, something like 9-13 in favor of NY.

If anyone goes off in this game it will likely be the receivers for NY and Olsen/Smith for Carolina.

While I'd like to agree I don't think we 'really' know what the Carolina front 7 holds yet. I think if Wilson gets some real playing time this week it can be telling. While they did shut down Lynch they got carved up by Spiller. Wilson is a much closer comparison to Spiller than Lynch. Lynch is just a massive wrecking ball he isn't particularly fast and not a good outside runner. Where as Spiller and Wilson are the complete opposite. They're good inside runners but really excel at outside runs. That's where Spiller really tore up Carolina last week. All of his runs were bounced to the outside.

I think Coughlin will be pressured into at least running Wilson early and seeing how it works out. I'd expect him to see 5-8 carries in the first quarter. And then they'll adjust based on his effectiveness from there. If he's going 1.3ypc on 8 carries he'll probably not do much more but if he's popping off 5-10 yard clips every run then he could see around 18-20 on the game. The Giants NEED to establish a running game. This is a must win game for them, thinking of it from say a fantasy purpose. Wilson is the 'upside' play, they have to just put all the chips in the middle and pray for the ace on the river here.

i don't think coughlin feels the least bit of pressure to do anything in particular with wilson at all

they didn't get carved up by Buffalo.. would have only been 100yds total between Spiller, Jackson, and Manuel until Spiller broke that long 46 yd run, and watching the game the Bills weren't exactly running all over the place until the injuries began to plague Carolina in the 2nd half... biggest concern with Carolina right now is there completely banged up secondary.. and i think it bodes well for Giants WR

It doesn't go over well in the Shark pool when you say if you take away his best run. Injuries happen and the Bills took advantage of them and rushed for 149 yards.

Wilson is not a rookie. His body of work last year was enough to show his talent. This is part of the reason everyone wants Coughlin off his ###. Stop treating the guy like a rookie.The Lions gave LeShoure a crap ton of carries last year to find out if he was any good. When the Giants do the same there will be a balanced offense in NY.

I am trying to help, using injuries as a reason why another team had success against another won't help you in the long run, neither will saying if you take away a person's longest gain he wouldn't have done anything. Take it how you want. I had no problem with the rest of your post that is why I only commented on that part.
