On Tuesday, Roush Fenway Racing said in a statement that Newman is "awake and speaking with family and doctors."

"Ryan and his family have expressed their appreciation for the concern and heartfelt messages from across the country," Roush Fenway Racing said. "They are grateful for the unwavering support of the NASCAR community and beyond."

Walked out of the hospital today.

Unreal, so happy for Ryan and his daughters. First of all I thought his car was going to explode in flames while he was trapped in there for 60 seconds before the fire crew arrived.  Then I thought he had to be DOA and that flip and getting t-boned at 200mph on the drivers side while upside down. Without a doubt NASCAR has perfected protecting their drivers.
