Here's the deal.

First 16 to sign up. Eight rounds. Four Divisions. Serpentine Draft.

Only verifiable, non-extinct selections are allowed.

Pics Required

Selections must be at least one inch long (no germs, viruses, etc.)

You must identify selection fully, i.e., you cannot draft a "bear", but you may draft a "grizzly bear." If you fail to fully identify your choice, any subsequent drafter may "define" it, such as "Panda" for your "bear."

All time limits are hereby revoked. Owners are to make their picks in what the commish determines is a reasonable amount of time. Failure to make your pick promptly will result in the commish or a lurker making the pick for you. To ensure you get the picks you want, I recommend PMing me with your queued selections, or just PM me with your phone number and I will contact you when you pick is coming up. To survive AND be entertaining, the draft must have a pace that does not induce sleep. I will do my best to make sure no one goes to sleep while I am at the helm.

Your eight selections will be judged (by poll) as a group vs. other teams in a land/sea death match. All teams must select at leat two, but no more than three "sea" creatures ("land-sea" combo creatures, such as gators, crocs and hippos count as sea creatures).

All other rules and interpretations are by the sole discretion and whimsy your renegade tyrrannical commish (cosjobs).

Your drafted eight selections will perform in a collective death match with your opponent's team. Winner to be determined by public poll.

Clarification: Human are deemed ineligible for this draft, but each team MUST select a single Russian Bride for his/her team (same site as Russian Bridal Draft, duplicate brides from that draft are eligible).

NEW RULE:

Take note, this is important. If someone makes a pick that is against the stated rules (e.g., T Rex or 50 ants), I will not only replace their pick with some thing lame (like Bambi), but as a further penalty, I will also incapacitate one of their earlier picks... maybe a broken jaw for their hippo or sever hemerroids on their baboon... something really nasty and devistating.

There are not that many rules and all the dunderheads that can't take the time to read them will PAY.

I am going to say "any" .. mainly because we would have too spend too dam much time trying to figure out whether our choices were taken.

I'm in.Sandbagger is right about the hippo going #1 overall, even though I heard it recently tore its ACL. :ph34r: Just kidding, anyone who passes on the hippo is a fool.

Neutral field. In the shark/bear example, you could have the combatants square off in outer space.

It is a team death match. all your choices vs. all your opponents choices. Everyone will have at least 2 seafighters, but no more than three..For example, you may have:A catfishA LobsterAn OtterA Siamese catA shrewA moleA grasshopperIlleana And I would have:Sperm WhaleGreat White SharkHippoBlack RhinoWhite RhinoGrizzly BearBengal TigerNataliyaThen imagine a land/water cage match with all 16 animals in it. Who's animal(s) would be left standing/swimming at the end of the melee'? That's your winer.

Some of those Russian brides look like they might be able to take out a hippo. I'm searching to see if there are any weightlifters....

Right. The problem is, what if one team's critters are left swimming, and the other's standing? Does the orang-utan have to wander into the surf to bonk the hammerhead on the snoot? Or does the sperm whale have to beach itself in the slim hopes it can roll on top of the badger before it suffocates under its own mass? Is it a tie? :confused:

i think it needs to be one animal, not a group of the same kind of animal. otherwise people would be drafting a gazillion hippos, which would be silly (but deadly indeed)

By the time this thing gets rolling, ALL the animals will be extinct.

Single animals only and, again, read the brief, simple rules, "all animals must be at least 1" long."I think we need a bout four more to get this thing underway. Who else wants in?

Good point. I assume the draft order will be randomized...but I suppose that's up to our commish (or the mob).
 
I think if it is a small animal, then we should be allowed to draft a pack of them. I mean a kller bee does not strike fear in anyone, but a pack of killerbees is scary.The same thing for one piranha, but a pack is formitable....So I think the rules should be modified to allow animals that are smaller than a squirrel can be drafted as a pack.I mean what kind of battle would there be between a moose and one killer bee? The bee stings once and eviscerates himself--battle over...., but multiple stings could cause the moose to stampeed and run into a tree or off a cliff.The possibilities are endless.I've got my cheatsheets ready---when's the draft?? :D

 
Okay we have 17 total, I am going to drop out and be an absolutely ruthless commish. I think I will have more fun that way. See original post for the 16 owners and will generate a draft order shortly.

listen, if you want to spend all 8 picks on different kinds of bees, go ahead.all i know is that i won't be drafting winnie the pooh so i'm not too concerned.every animal i have on my draft list i only need one of to inflict damage that hasn't been seen since the dresden bombings.

As am I, but wow, I am busting up out loud here at work.GB the holidays (ie slow time at work) :thumbup: -feP.S. I agree with C.J. about the smaller animals = pack. Good points there.
