DeAngelo Hall wants to hurt Romo and Felix (1 Viewer)

(KFFL) Washington Redskins CB Deangelo Hall said Wednesday, Sept. 21, he's hoping Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (rib, lung) plays in Week 3 - if only for the chance to inflict more damage. "Absolutely. I want to get a chance to put my helmet on whatever's hurt," Hall said. "Romo's ribs - I'm going to be asking for some corner blitzes. If I know Felix Jones' shoulder's hurt, I'm not going to cut him. I'm definitely going to try to hit him up high, so that's just part of it ... If you know something's wrong with an opponent, you're going to try to target in on that. We're going to try to definitely get as many hats on that team as possible."
Is this dirty or fair game? Should he have said any of this? Does Dallas try and retaliate?

Completely fair game. He probably shouldn't be advertising it, but technically he said nothing wrong and really, that's the way the game SHOULD be played if you want to win.

Do CBs even tackle anyone these days? I think there's a better chance of DeAngelo getting hurt if he tries to do what he says than either Romo or Jones.

listened to steve young respond to Hall's comments on ESPN yesterday.

Young basically said, go for it. the game is to fast for you to zero in on spots.

I personally think it's mental warfare.

Romo (and Jones) are going to be jacked up with something where they won't feel the real pain until after the game.

That's the way I feel. Probably everyone else on the Skins felt that way but didn't say it to avoid a distraction and becoming a target. Play 1, sweep to Hall's side and 11 Dallas players jump on Hall who doesn't get up.

Surprisingly, I've never heard this point brought up before but it makes plenty of sense. BTW, Deangelo will probably "go after" Felix's shoulder like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE7ZBTvrtIA

FEAR THE HALL!

He needs to worry more about covering someone, than hurting them. He'd just better pray to whatever God he believes in that he doesn't get matched up against Dez.

If Hall tackles Felix at all it will be more than anyone expected of him. Trying to hit him somewhere specific is just getting greedy.

The ribs is about the only place you can hit a QB anymore without getting a flag anyway.
Yeah, I'm not impressed. Suppose it was a groin injury. Tell the national media you're making a play for Romo's man cubes... then I'll be impressed!

This is fair game and smart, but it's what most defenders think. The dumb, boneheaded Deangelo Hall move is to announce it, let the Cowboys know your intentions, and let Goodell brainstorm the fine he's going to give you if you do something crazy on monday

Considering it was a CB, and former Skin, who hurt Romo in the first place they do/can get their hits in.But this is DeAngelo Hall. He's a loud mouth, that's what he does. I met him in person when he was in college. Seems like an alright guy but some people just always have to have their lips moving. He's one of those guys. I'm not sure he even believes have the stuff he says. He certainly doesnt think much before flapping his gums. At the end of the day it's fun for the media to talk about but it's much ado about nothing. It's football, people get hurt, people go after guys they know are hurt. It's part of the game.Hall needs to worry about not giving up big plays. As a lifelong Skins fan who will be starting Dez, and possibly Felix, I'm a little conflicted to say the least. But I'll take the FF loss if it means a Skins win THIS week. Here's to a Skins victory and Bryant still going off.....

Fair game, but why let everyone know before the game? In a league that is hell bent on protecting QBs, the refs are now going to be looking to throw a flag on Hall for anything that comes close to an illegal hit.

Of course, Hall's statements are coming from a guy who wore Nikes on MNF while he was under contract with Reebok because he wanted to look cool on primetime. We're not exactly dealing with a rocket scientist here.

I did not know Hall was even in the NFL these days.
He did win pro-bowl MVP and tie the single game INT record just last season. Maybe you should watch more football.
does the pro bowl really count as football?
Sure but that wasn't really my point. Doc didn't realize Hall was still in the league despite being regarded as one of the top players at his position.
My remark was made to try to belittle Hall's actual impact on the NFL. Mid-week comments from a CB not known for his tackling about how he is going to punish other players struck me as really stupid. I will try to dumb down my remarks for you in the future.

Don't sell yourself short. You remarks were plenty dumb.

Yea, but with a rib injury, if he gets hit in the upper body and driven to the ground, he's likely going to be in serious pain regardless of whether or not the defender actually hits the injured rib.And then there's the matter of defenders using Romo's body to "push" themselves up off the ground after the play is over.IMO, this is a non-story. Hall just said what every defender is already is thinking. And it's not like the Skins use him on blitzes much anyways.

I hope Dez lines up against Hall and hurt his ego.
Dez will make hall his personal rag doll.I expect hall to get a "little extra" from the Cowboys. what an idiot.

Obviously not dumb enough since you could not follow. Maybe I will try to write using shorter words in the future. Sound out the words if you must.
