DeAngelo Williams (1 Viewer)

Looking for any updates on the Carolina O-line.

I am considering a trade offer that would add DeAnglelo to my roster and am wondering is there any cause for hope?

NO I am NOT looking for advice - only the info asked for. But for any who might be interested in the "value" of DeAngelo Williams, the offer I received is Blount straight up for DeAngelo in a keep-6 league.

The OL is not the problem. the coaching staff is. If this team was allowed to have 15 RBs on the roster, they would use every single one of them. They have no interest in putting the best players on the field and trying to win games. They would much rather think that they are schooling the opponent with trickery that never works.DeAngelo Williams for 8 yards...come on out, we are going to try something different. Will use you again after we punt.

Deangelo is the RB to go after in dynasty leagues right now, especially if you are at the bottom of the league.

Yes, right now is the perfect time in keeper leagues. I went after him far too early and hqd to pay a high price. It took LT and bowe about 4 or.5 weeks ago. The price seems high because bowe broke out, but this is a keeper where we keep 6 and neither of those two were keeper quality...I think blount for deangelo is a very good deal. I own both but will be passing on blount as a keeper for next year.

Adam Schefter Twitter: Panthers are considering place DeAngelo Williams on IR as early as today.

Hmmm, if it's really bad enough that they are considering IR I think it's time to cut bait. I may just drop him for Harrison so I have McCoy's backup.

Good for Deangelo dynasty owners. I'm sick of him getting annihilated on that line. Preserve him for 2011.

Official.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams placed on IR Wed Nov 17, 01:11 PMThe Carolina Panthers have placed RB DeAngelo Williams (foot) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2010 season, according to Steve Reed, of CarolinaGrowl.com.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Things just keep getting worse for the woeful Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers (1-8) placed running back DeAngelo Williams on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday with a mid-foot sprain the same day quarterback Jimmy Clausen sat out practice with a concussion.

Coach John Fox says Williams wouldn't have been able to return for two to three weeks and they "needed the roster spot." The Panthers promoted guard C.J. Davis from the practice squad with starting left guard Travelle Wharton (toe) sitting out practice.

Fox says it's likely rookie Tony Pike or Brian St. Pierre, a journeyman signed to the active roster Tuesday, would start at QB for the Panthers Sunday against Baltimore. Clausen was hurt late in last Sunday's 31-16 loss to Tampa Bay.

At least I now have room to snag McMichael to backup Gates...

At least I'm no longer going to think about rolling this bum into my lineup each week.

As a dynasty owner this is the best news. His value will be low but this is not like an ACL tear, lisfranc, or any number of other horrible injuries where you not only lose the immediate prodction but long term starts looking grim as well. He will be 28 years old, doesn't have a ton of wear and tear and hopefully will sign a decent contract for a new team. Fox actually did him a favor.

Nobody knows who the coach will be next year (highly doubtful it will be Fox), but it wouldn't surprise me for the Panthers to put the franchise tag on Williams next year, or trade Stewart and sign Williams to a new contract. Who even knows who the QB will be.

So does he go down as the biggest bust of 2010? The love for him going into the season was through the roof....
Based on the Panthers running game success in 08 and 09, there was reason to have love for the Panther RBs. This year has been shockingly terrible for the Carolina RB duo (Williams, Stewart). The following four things has not helped the run game: QB position, OL, play calling, and injuries. It will be interesting to see how the team performs this weekend against Baltimore (who are coming off a loss to Atlanta) with Pike possibly starting under center. I'm hoping Pike will do ok if he starts, but it could get ugly real fast.

The #1 problem was the coach in my opinion. The first week Mike Goodson is in there he gets 23 carries! When was the last time Fox was that dedicated to the run with Williams and Stewart? Despite Williams' bade season, he was still averaging 4.7 yards per carry the last time i checked (which was BEFORE the last game he played).I wonder how this injury effects Deangelo's career going forward. Whether I should be high on Deangelo or not. I have to make a decision regarding keepers, and I'm thinking whether Deangelo should be one.Calvin, Fitz, Crabtree, Jahvid Best, Forte, Blount, Vick and Deangelo. I've got to pick 6 out of here for next year. A month ago Deangelo was a for sure keeper, but now i'm not so sure. His value in my mind has fallen dramatically. I may rather keep Forte or Laggerate Blount instead of Deangelo.
