just out of curiosity where did you apply? Was you Gpa just below 3.0 then as well? You really need to work on that. Most people I interview are in the mid to upper 3's. Of those I hire maybe 10% and I am in a very competitive market (San fran).
Or at least that's what they tell you.
Lots of grade inflation anymore. A 3.5 today is about a 3.0 thirty years ago.

Here's the curriculum sheet for a Bachelors in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. I see a lot of classes that should transfer nicely from my transcript.

Doubtful at best. And I don't think you could pass half those classes or complete that major. Unless you are on the six year track, in which case, its still going to be close.
Yeah...based on the genius exhibited here, I'll bet on FAU to take his money and laugh hysterically when he goes Blutarsky.

Maybe. But getting a B average isn't exactly hard either way.

a B is ubiquitous. just do the work... you don't even have to show up.

it takes a bit of work to get an A or C/D

I really do think an out of state school will give him a 25k annual scholarship for that 3.0 community college GPA.

We actually collect transcripts for new hires. I don't know who reviews them but i know it is a pre req when onboarding.

which makes his GPA even more atrocious

I don't have to justify my GPA to any of you guys. I work 40 hours a week and squeak by to the best of my ability while still working out / having a social life. All I'm trying to do is better my life by finishing this Associates, finding a better paying job, and beginning work on a Bachelors.

I don't care if it takes me 3 years to get my Bachelors as long as I am working on a career in the meantime. Besides, the situation is what it is at this point. Offer me constructive criticism to help me get to the next level.

I do appreciate all the feedback I've received thus far though. You guys are my homies.

We have the over/under for the number of years it would take you to complete a generic Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college set at 6.5. Too much action at 5.5 and the line moved accordingly.

As long as I'm getting drunk, high, and finger blasting chicks along the way it's gonna be a great 6 years. ;) I ain't no bookworm, I'm here to count stacks of cash.

The line just moved to 8. Considering pulling this one fellas. Just too much on the over.

Is there a reason why you don't just go to school full-time? IMO working full-time at a $10/hr job while trying to go to school is a waste of time. Focus on one thing and do it well.

Solid advice in a thread full of shtick.

I can't afford not to go to school unless I work full-time. It sucks and I'm 23. I need to move out and find a women to do the laundry, raise the kids, etc.

You might want to enroll in an anatomy class. You don't get kids from finger-bangin'.

You definitely don't need to justify your GPA to anyone but yourself. However, you are the one on an internet discussion board asking for advice. As i posted earlier, with lack of experience your GPA is the first thing a potential employer looks at. Below a 3.0 is going to greatly hinder you ability to get an interview. Second, being able to manage a work life balance is only going to get harder as you get older so you really should focus on growing up. I am 99% sure that everything you post is a fishing trip, but read above just in case it is possible that there you are truly this naive.

To be honest, I'm just damn proud to about to even finish this Associates. If I could:

1.) Finish my Associates.

2.) Find a new job / get promoted at current job.

3.) Buy a new car.

4.) Move out of my parent's house.

5.) Attend a University (even part time).

I would consider that a huge success for 2015.

That is the best thing about low expectations. They're easy to exceed.

It would probably be smaller though. He doesn't want to disappoint her that soon.

Em - are you going to try to establish residence in FL before going to school to save a lot of cash? If so, you should immediately be moving to establish this ASAP.

It's called student loans. You are getting nowhere doing what you're doing.

If your parents are truly moving to Florida, here's what you do:

- Move to Florida and live there a year to establish residency

- Work (and more importantly) save as much as you can

- Get into a 4 year school

- Get student loans to cover whatever your parents can't help you with

- Live as cheap as possible

- Work your butt off and know accounting inside and out when you graduate

1 through 4 are pointless at this time in your life.

Can't help it, even if this is Em's shtick maybe it will help someone other kid who's serious.

Em should be rolling in cash living at home, instead he is over his head in debt. He laid out a plan last year where he would have several thousand saved and invested by now.....what happened?

We want you to succeed, but it does not appear any of the financial education is sinking in. You have great plans but your execution really sucks.

I gotta say, being able to hold a job for more than two years and get promoted is probably better than 2/3 of the 23 year old sans higher education crowd.
