The Hank
Footballguy
I've been perusing my WW recently, in search of a final WR roster spot, and found some interesting characters that may be decent bye-week plug ins. Feel free to offer your own analysis/other WRs. Here are my own thoughts:
*NOTE I AM IN A 16 TEAM LEAGUE SO THE WELL IS DRY!*
-------------------------------------
Sam Hurd (DAL) -- I have been looking around the FBG universe and havent heard any news on the guy in a while. I may be wrong, but he could turn out to be the #3 WR for DAL. Hurd may be good for the occasionaly 35-50 yds a game with a TD thrown in every now and then.
Hank's Hunch: 33 rec, 401 yds, 3 TDs
Rashied Davis (CHI) -- Is it a pre-season tease, or is there some excellent rapport with Orton and Davis? Forget about games with Davis catching 2 TDs w/ 50+ yds. I think its more realistic for Davis to be the slot guy who makes the 7 yd slant receptions with the possible long yardage strike once every couple of games.
Hank's Hunch: 40 rec, 449, 4 TDs
Jeff Webb (KC): -- KC's Passing game is awful, we all know this. But as a #2 WR, it always intrigues the possiblity of the stars aligning just right and Croyle having a couple decent starts, in which case Webb is bound to have some leftovers of the Bowe and Croyle fantasy cookout.
Hank's Hunch: 32 rec, 375 yds, 2 TDs
Steve Breaston (ARI): -- Matt Leinart's 24 yd, 3 INT performance is just what the doctor ordered. Well maybe the local delicatessan. Leinart's pitifulness and ineptitude has most likely opened the door for Warner to reclaim the starting QB position, and the only possiblity of Breaston pulling together a decent haul. Boldin and Fitz are going to catch 95% of the passes, but if one were to go down, Breaston would be one of the first to benefit. Coupled with the fact that Breaston has a chance to be the KR for ARI allows for the possiblity of the random KR/PR TD. Warner is blessed with the ability to throw a football to a baker's dozen worth of WR. Lets hope that Warner doesnt get hurt.
Hank's Hunch: -- 48 rec, 502 yds, 5 TDs (1 KR TD)
Others to monitor:
Antonio Chatman (CIN) -- Lets see how long C.Henry can resist getting drunk and arrested before we annoint him #3 WR again.
Josh Morgan (SF) -- With the possiblity to become #3-4 WR in Martz' system allows you to become an instant fantasy consideration
Keenan Burton (STL) -- Burton will most likely start out as the #4 WR, with the possiblity to climb up the ladder with D. Bennett to be overtaken at some point during the season
Aundrae Allison (MIN) -- It's only a matter of time before Allison takes over the #3 WR spot over B. Wade.
Ben Obomanu (SEA) -- It's mandatory that in Seattle you must first pass a physical to see if you have been injured in the past, or are injury prone. If you have been, you will make the team. Obomanu has a chance to be thrown into the starting rotation if any combination of the wide recievers (Branch,Engram,Burleson) are injured.
David Clowney (NYJ)
Jordan Kent (SEA)
Robert Meachem (NO)
Devard Darling (KC)
Nate Washington (PIT)
Josh Reed (BUF)
