interesting. i think Engram is great to have tonight but i actually like Hackett better. Hackett is no question the better receiver, but he was rusty last week. imo. It's a good day to have Bobby Engram in your lineup, as he has shown the past few weeks. A few bones may get thrown Hackett and Burleson's way as well
yes.Is Branch officially out?
WHat are your thoughts on Branch being out? Will these other guys step up?
I like Burleson, the guy has been explosive the last few weeks.
I don't see MNF inactives listed on nfl.com or anywhere else for that matter....link?thehornet said:yes.barista said:Is Branch officially out?
Better? Using what sort of metric? Bobby Engram is an outstanding receiver and has been getting the job done every week for a lot of years. Hackett made a few nice catches at the end of last season and made what I thought as a nice adjustment on a ball last week late in the game. No question the better receiver? Oh man. Perhaps an argument can be made that Hackett has a higher ceiling, but this sort of hyperbole is ridiculous.thehornet said:i think Engram is great to have tonight but i actually like Hackett better. Burleson had ample opportunities to lock down the SE position in the Seattle offense. It just ain't going to happen. Seattle appears to be handing the job to Hackett as Burleson didn't impress while Hackett was out.Da Guru said:I like Burleson, the guy has been explosive the last few weeks.thehornet said:WHat are your thoughts on Branch being out? Will the mods merge the two threads together if you report it?Something wrong with the other Branch thread talking about him being out? You know, the one that's been around for a few days? Why do people just make new threads every time they come up with a "scoop"?
Truth. We're getting blasted right now. I just walked outside and was nearly blown off my porch.
Based on SofaKings post, it sounds like the winds will be much calmer at game time.
Shaun Alexander and Deion Branch will not play for Seattle on their Monday Night Football game against San Francisco, according to ESPN.com.Mike Holmgren reportedly announced the news on his television show Sunday, although the local Seattle papers don't have the news. This means Maurice Morris will get the start for Seattle at running back, with Leonard Weaver playing a bigger role. Morris is a fine flex option if you kept a space open. At wideout, Nate Burleson will pick up snaps alongside D.J. Hackett and Bobby Engram. Nov. 12 - 9:39 am etSource: ESPN.comis there a link that says he is officially out that i missed?
Just to be clear, he's not officially out until the inactive list is submitted later today. That said, Holmgren definitely said on his show last night that neither Branch nor Alexander will play. I suppose he could have been lying, but I doubt it.Shaun Alexander and Deion Branch will not play for Seattle on their Monday Night Football game against San Francisco, according to ESPN.com.Mike Holmgren reportedly announced the news on his television show Sunday, although the local Seattle papers don't have the news. As long as its not windy the slick track will favor the Wrs.Back to the topic. I am expecting an ugly game for both teams. I am expecting a low scoring game with players slipping all over the field. A few turnovers will occur.Hass will still throw alot. But I do not expect big numbers for Hackett or Engram.
i started this new tread because it became official that branch was out. Plus, this thread really isnt about or for Branch, but about the other players that will need to step up. thanks. Will the mods merge the two threads together if you report it?Something wrong with the other Branch thread talking about him being out? it's not hyperbole, it's my opinion. I'm entitled to that, am i not?My reasoning is that Hackett is 25 and he has shown real signs that he could break out and be a star. Engram is 34 years old, i think and he has never shown to be much more than a possesion receiver. Serviceable yes, someone I fear in my opponents starting lineup, absolutely not. just my opinion.Better? Using what sort of metric? you mean a lot of incompletions, or do you have a dark horse pick?Back to the topic. I am expecting an ugly game for both teams. I am expecting a low scoring game with players slipping all over the field. A few turnovers will occur.
