Denver, Anyone Have Any Gold Panning Tips? (1 Viewer)

I'm headed to Denver in ten days and will be there for 3 days. My 12 yo son wants to do some gold panning. My current plan is to let him do it in a state park while some of us are fishing. I'm hoping for a spot where he might find a couple of flakes. I ordered a $50 panning setup that is probably worth more than what he will recover, but it's about the adventure.
