Does anyone have insite on the MLB situation in Denver. Will it be a committe between Nate and Niko? Who is the favorite to take over the position if any? Anyone know whats going on there?

I think they have been switching off and on. I dont think its settled yet, but it looks like Webster is starting for now. I dont think either will be in on nickel packages. I could be wrong though
It'll be settled this week; whomever gets the start with the ones in the final preseason game will be the guy. Smart money may be on Nate Webster, who was a part of a better run defense this weekend (12 carries, 31 yards in the first half vs GB) than Koutouvides was last week. No official word or reasonable writer speculation yet, however.
Hard to tell just from the box scores from yesterday. Nate with 3 and Kino with 2. Projections show both playing this year evening out their stats. Is it possible one gets the job and the other is backup and if so do you think that'll project that one person into a top 40 LB. Yes top 40, in a deep league. For those owners that draft based on projection, the star between these two could be a sneaky pick up with the way projections are looking...

If the early reports on Boss Bailey's recovery are accurate, neither is likely to have much value since neither will likely play on passing downs. There hasn't been a two down MLB in recent memory that has finished in the top 40. Curtis Lofton has the talent to break that ceiling, but these two do not. And, you're right, neither has been impressive enough to ensure that they'll keep the job all season long. I think one could put up LB4-5 numbers, with all kinds of inconsistency. Remember, through a few games last season, Napoleon Harris was a top five player.
Nate Webster seems to be a more natural fit in the middle. He can penetrate against the run and he is much better IMO than Niko in coverage. I would be surprised if Webster was not the starter come week 1.
I disagree...Nate has looked ok. not great not bad. What you said about Niko sounds about right. But I do not see DJ moving back to MLB. His value to the team goes down if he does move inside and he's in a contract year. Denver is trying to keep him there for the long haul and he has voiced his displeasure with being moved around. DJ is a Will backer and I think the Broncos finally realize that.

The issue is that if Wes Woodyard at some point becomes the absolute 2nd best LB on the team... he cant play MLB or SLB. And the team (which is weak defensivly) will need to find a way to get him on the field.
