"LONG-TERM EFFECTS Our knowledge about marihuana is incomplete,"

from your own article

seems like a lot of people are experts and have knowledge on information that doesn't exist.

The suggestion that he ate a marijuana cookie and then became aggressive is what's known as a "short term" effect. For him, obviously.

I know that, but I don't think marijuana should be legal, and it isn't just because of this article.

HomerSimpson acting like its a great injustice that marijuana isn't legal everywhere while the research on it isn't complete is laughable to me.

Also Henry, its laughable to me that you think making weed legal is an important factor when voting for a president when there is still so much to learn about marijuana.

I think making medicinal marijuana legal and available for patients is an important factor. We don't know all the long term effects of most pharmaceuticals but we approve them for use anyway based on the needs of patients.Anyone who thinks marijuana should be a schedule 1 substance is too uninformed to be president.

"A small study of casual marijuana smokers has turned up evidence of changes in the brain, a possible sign of trouble ahead, researchers say." read on for more info
I'm aware. Again, you're talking about long term effects. When we are talking about medication, especially for people with degenerative neurological or seizure disorders, the trade off of even a severe decrease in motivation or emotional response is absolutely worth it to many patients.

Casual users of heavy pain medication have lots of possible long term effects. Same with antidepressants and anxiolytics. We don't make them schedule 1 substances. And check out what alcohol does to your brain sometime.

"Over the next year I honestly started to think he had become a lunatic (though it sounds terrible to say this) but I still had not made the connection between Aaron's strange behaviour and his drug use. Then I discovered he was taking Skunk, which I now know to be the most evil, disgusting drug that ever came to be. It changed our son's life for ever though I still hope and pray for a miracle."

Powerful, powerful stuff.

Is 37 years a long enough study? If it is I know a guy who can answer your questions about long term use.

Aaron Bedack is a sad story in a lot of ways. Notably his hospital stay several years ago from a beating (possibly by a drug dealer) that left him with likely brain damage.

It is extremely unlikely that Aaron Bedack only smoked marijuana.

John,

Two questions that I hope you answer honestly.

1. Do you believe in large or small govt (namely that the individual is free to exercise their will and choice over govt dictating what an individual can do)

2. What are you views on the legalization of alcohol?

I try not to toss around terms like stupid and idiot here because they usually are counter productive hyperbole. I don't always succeed in this effort.

Because when you see someone equate SYNTHETIC pot with marijuana, it's hard to find more appropriate words.

Oh, come on. At least find one where "synthetic" isn't in the title of the article.
From the article:

It has been called synthetic marijuana, FAKE pot...

It's such a terrible post that anything johnjohn could possibly every say on this subject - and perhaps any subject - has to be met with skeptical derision at best. Or laughable humor.

Funny coming from a guy who posts on crack.

I've been smoking pot for 23+ years and I'm pretty confident in saying I'm a much more stable and intelligent human being than JJ.

Scientific research has connected marijuana use with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia. The British Royal College of Psychiatrists published a leaflet warning that regular use of the drug has appeared to double the risk of developing a psychotic episode or long-term schizophrenia.

It's quoting a leaflet for kids.

Using lots of things as kids puts you in a higher risk group for mental illness symptoms. Marijuana is definitely one.

Sadly no. At least not at the time I posted this.

That said, the fact that I'd so easily be confused by the two of you is hardly a positive sign.

So, laugh away. I've earned it.

My mistake will pass. But the fact that you and cross are ao easily confused is probably an issue that runs deeper than my inability to discern you from him, anyway.

That said, I'd gladly listen to your honest answer to the questions as well.
