DeSean Jackson (1 Viewer)

Very frustating development for DJAX owners. I was going to bench him anyway for so many poor performances in a row. I guess I am now thankful that he's out. It was going to be a sweet mathup against Arizona's putrid secondary. This sucks. :kicksrock: After this week, it's going to be hard to consider him when submitting the lineup.

So can the Philly pholks in the forum chime in on who would benefit from Desean's targets? Avant? Or will it just be more for Maclin / McCoy?

should be interesting to see who starts for him. I think it will be Riley Cooper, but SS2 is a possibility. Cooper has been playing more than Smith recently

I think Avant stays in the slot with either Riley Cooper or Steve Smith starting. Cooper has been getting more PT lately.

Cooper is they sneaky buy in dynasty leagues if they can't work out a deal with Desean

My concern is that with Desean out, the defense doesn't have to worry about the field being stretched as much. Maclin now gets doubled and the safety can watch McCoy/Celek a little closer. I guess Avant will start with maybe Smith manning the slot and Cooper becomes the deep threat when they go 4 wide?

Desean hasn't had a typical year for him. Will this piss him off and he sulks weeks 11-17 or is it a wakeup call for him? If the latter, maybe now is the time to pull off a fast trade for him. Opinions?

Starting to shed some light on a possible reason (amongst many others) as to why this team is vastly under performing.

As far as FF- a nice upgrade on Celek should be on tap.

Maclin for sure gets a huge bump with this news. Tried to trade for him a few weeks ago and couldn't get it done, wish I had. If they double up Maclin, Avant will get the rest.

Why would Celek get the upgrade? I don't see how removing the deep threat would help the tight end.I am not disputing you, as Dodds said the same thing. I am just curious (had Olsen in my lineup all week over Celek, trying to decide whether to switch them).

you realize Cooper has been getting more snaps in 4 WR sets than Smith lately?

as usual, Rotoworld is spot on with the news but then they "assume" that Avant starts and Smith is in the slot - unless I glossed over it (possible - I am OLD) the artile does not mention who starts).

look for Cooper to get a lot of targets today - he played over Smith the last two weeks - Smith dressed the last two weeks and did not play. I don't think the inactive list will solve anything , all these guys will be active with Jackson out.

I think that Vick will need that outlet and he seems to be more active in recent weeks as a bailout target for Vick. Without turning this thread into a who do I start- I would have no issue at all with putting Olsen in my lineup either. You cannot go wrong. Either guy is capable of the same potential this week. Vick will lean on McCoy, Maclin and Celek and if there is double coverage on Maclin- Celek will prosper BUT I would think that the Cards need to put up some points or the Eagles might just pound McCoy...

not too many saying it above, but this has to mean more mccoy. seeing as how they should get him more involved anyways.

when he runs for 100 yards they are 3-1, seems like giving him the ball proves to work out.

So this is their playoff, back against the wall mentality?
Seriously. I dont own djax but is this really the the solution for missing a team meeting where if u lose u could potentially miss the playoffs?
Rules are rules. They are going to miss anyway.
This teams needs a heavy dose of football players. I think benching the prima donna is the right move. They should have traded for Brandon Lloyd when they had the chance.

Does this affect Vicks value today?
Not much. May limit Vick's ceiling, since his huge game generally come from getting that big play to Desean. But I can't see Vick being limited due to Desean being out. He'll get is 225-250 yards, 2 TDs, and 40-50 yards rushing. The bigger issue will be will AZ be able to score much if Kolb is out......which could mean a healthy dose of Lesean McCoy.

There has to be more to this story than missing/late for a meeting. With all the crap that goes on in Philly, this has to be one of the better things.

Did you mean 3WR sets? B/c if you really meant 4WR, then I don't see how what I wrote is at odds with what you wrote. I'm just suggesting that in 4 wide, where DJax would have been the primary deep threat now Cooper may have that role.

So Sigmund retweets a tweet from Jeff McLane saying Steve Smith will get the start and a minute later Schefter tweets that Jason Avant will get the start.

Well, that clears that up.

Over the last two games, you and I have the same number of offensive snaps as Steve Smith does.

3 WR= Avant, Maclin, Desean, 4 WR= Avant, Maclin, Desean, and Cooper...smith is WR5
