Gonna crack a beer, finish up the draft, and put together a playlist soon.
This one caught my eye in prep for this, actually. Gave it a quick listen, but the friction chafed. I went with Saadiq as the neo-soul King for his movement at this velocity. And, I actually thought you might take this...but that was fleeting and never really fleshed out nor did I dwell upon on it.20.ee - D'Angelo and The Vanguard - Black Messiah (2014)
D'Angelo dropped this album out of the blue at almost the exact midpoint of the decade to reclaim his throne from a new generation of neo-soul performers. Black Messiah bubbles along at it's own measured pace, generating its heat from friction rather than velocity.
Sugar Daddy
Back to the Future (Part I)
Another Life
I've liked Saadiq's work since Tony! Toni! Tone! did it the first time and could have used a local on my island. I think he's a better producer than performer though; his voice doesn't captivate me over a full album. This one caught my eye in prep for this, actually. Oh sure. i figured that you liked Saadiq. Tony! and Lucy Pearl were stand outs to me back in the day, even.I've liked Saadiq's work since Tony! Toni! Artist: Chris Cornell
Release Year: 2015
Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart
Worried Moon
Higher Truth
His last release before his tragic death shows his range musically and vocally. Very haunting and inspiring at the same time.
including one that will be in the top 5 of my @Northern Voice '19 countdown in a few weeks

Welcome blast from the recent past.Rd 18 - Public Access Television (2016)
Now-defunct NYC guitar rock band with a new wave sound. According to their wiki page they made their TV debut on Action Bronson’s VICE TV show.
Honestly, this was the one thing on my list I was sure no one else had on the radar.####, really? I was taking this for sure.Gotta have some gin music....

Run Away with Me
Let's Get Lost
It was a hard choice for my gin music between this, and some others, but this is a better album all the way through. Was also looking at some Katy, Kesha, and Gaga.####, really? I was taking this for sure.
If you really want it...Honestly, this was the one thing on my list I was sure no one else had on the radar.
Same idea in terms of decade defining bands and not spotlighting because I'll take one here but have any Bon Iver albums gone? How did tame impala not go in the first three rounds
I'm glad this one made it to somebody's island.18.xx: A TRIBE CALLED QUEST - WE GOT IT FROM HERE.... THANK YOU 4 YOUR SERVICE (2016)
Not drafted, Forever agoSame idea in terms of decade defining bands and not spotlighting because I'll take one here but have any Bon Iver albums gone?
I liked Vernon's record from this year more than any other since he discovered Auto-Tune.My my my, my my my.
We had Kanye and Father John Misty conversations in here and I put Vernon in the same conversation but that may be unfair. I go back and forth between loving him and thinking he's an unbearable #####. And when I saw him at Bonnaroo, I loved his first set and thought he was an unbearable ##### in his second.I liked Vernon's record from this year more than any other since he discovered Auto-Tune.
##### rock could be a new rhyming genre, seeing as how we've covered their deaths in here.I can't say pr1ck?
It will be interesting to see which highly regarded albums slip through the cracks or didn't register with the FBG crowd.Same idea in terms of decade defining bands and not spotlighting because I'll take one here but have any Bon Iver albums gone?
My first round selection is still available. It will be interesting to see which highly regarded albums slip through the cracks or didn't register with the FBG crowd.

Live like 9-5, I rhyme and come aliveHear what I say, we are the business today
#### #### is finished today
We dropped a classic today
We did a tablet of acid today
Did joints with the masses and ashes away
SKRRRT! We dash away
Donner and Dixon, the pistol is blastin' away
I kissed your lips and broke your heartWhy try and tell you, when you don’t give a ####?
You don’t believe in magic?
You don’t believe in luck?
There is no “right”
There is no “wrong”
Same damn chorus, same damn song
I held my hands out, blood stained and I got my doubts
I tried to wash it off
Yeah, I tried to wash it off
Red as Southern clay
Blood-red as Mississippi clay
And yes, it still remains
gosh darnit, it still remains!
Where is Pilate’s water?
Tell me! Where is Pilate’s water?
Nightmares in daylight!
I’m stealing the birthright!
Off 16th and Mission!
Off 16th and Mission!
I took an ambulance rideThey said I should’ve died
Right there on 16th and Mission, on 16th and Mission
@Abrantes : some other weirdo took this.15.x Jonny Greenwood, Phantom Thread (2017)
Think I took something off of this in the other draft, but it's easily one of my favorite soundtracks of the decade. Rounding out my island moods with some sobriety after all the synths and Drive vibes.
Wow. I thought this had been taken. Also on my list.14.x Fleet Foxes, Helplessness Blues (2011)
Been on my shortlist since the beginning and I'm surprised no one took it at all. I prefer their debut, sure, but this is still lovely, particularly on good headphones.
