Detroit Homers - Bell vs. Leshoure (1 Viewer)

With an apparent great matchup against AZ this week, the Detroit backfield has a good chance to rack up some points for the fantasy playoffs. Unfortunately, the split is a bit of a mess, so curious if there are some key points that have come out after last week where Bell got more of a workload after it had been trending in that direction for a bit.

The way I see it is Leshoure still is the "starter" and gets goal line looks. That said, Bell got more snaps and touches last week, gets catches, has the better shot at a long TD and seems to be in there if the game gets a little out of hand.

Impressions of local owners for those who own either one, or both?

I'm with above, and I really don't like Detroit's running game lately with the split.

Unless it's an only choice myself I would avoid that running game, or just flip a coin.

Obviously it's not an ideal choice, but many times (mine included) have one or two weak spots for a second/third RB or a flex. I too, see a lot of coin flip here, so wondering if there's any additional insight that might tip the scales. Had last week not happened, I'd be leaning strongly leshoure because of goal lines, but last week seemed to tip the balance a little.

If I HAD to make the call an start one of them it would be Leshoure.

For the fact he should get more shots at goal-line work then Bell would.

There's also the chance that you're staring at LeShoure because your regular RB2 (Ridley) has a terrible matchup (SF).

It'd be crazy to start Leshoure over Ridley - but is it crazy stupid, or crazy like a fox?

I've been starting Leshoure in my PPR every single week since his first game, but I'm very wary of him because of his reliance on TDs and Bell's increase in touches.

The only reason I'm still considering him is because its vs. Arizona. I still might end up going with my only other semi-viable option, DeAngelo. Thankfully, these guys are my 6th best RB/WR options in my flex league.

Ive done the same and have rolled with him all season in a ppr but right now I have him on the bench this week. I picked up Moreno when mcgahee went down and have him going. Still undecided about my flex between Leshoure, MW, Britt.

On the field, there's no doubt Bell has been the better player and the workload's been slowly moving in his direction. He looks a step quicker and he's much better catching the ball. However, Bell might be in the doghouse a bit this week. He made Schwartz pretty mad with his excessive celebration penalty in the Green Bay game:

After tight end Tony Scheffler's three-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, Bell excitedly joined in on his teammate's elaborate celebration. Multi-player celebrations are prohibited by the league and the penalty yardage was assessed on the ensuing kickoff.Schwartz accurately described Bell's penalty as stupid and avoidable both after the game and during his Monday press conference, but the coach took his criticism of the young running back a step further."I think maybe I'll start to check some of my compliments for Joique Bell," Schwartz said.Schwartz also suggested the mistake could impact Bell's playing time going forward."That's a young player, particularly a guy like Joique, who like I said has done some really good things for us this year and has done a good job on capitalizing on an opportunity. But it's things like that, it's a bad decision like that, that could potentially limit his opportunities and we certainly don't want to see that happen."

Thanks for posting this. I think a Detroit back is visiting paydirt this week, possibly multiple times as we see the Lindley and Hoyer show give Detroit multiple short fields.Makes me feel better about the potential Leshoure play over Ridley...

Thats the type of inside info that I'm looking for. Intersting to say the least. That said, its somewhat of a double edged sword... obviously they are high on Bell's ability. Perhaps this was a warning shot against the bow telling Bell to knock it off now, or he will be sitting. Not sure this is a detraction from this week or a bonus to be honest.
