DETROIT TIGERS OFFICIAL: We are decent!!!! (2 Viewers)

Only a couple of one run wins vs the White Sox, but it's important to start out winning since not doing that is what's been sinking them the last few years. 🐯

Tigers come from behind to take another in extra innings.

My favorite line from our new play by play guy Bennetti: "In New York they're saying boo not boo-urns."

Seems like Tigers fans feel the need to give disclaimers before saying anything about them: It's early, not much hitting, beating bad teams. I don't care about any of that because all I wanted for the Tigers was to stay competitive in April for a change.

All of their games have been in pretty lousy weather so I choose to believe the bats will warm up at least a little.

Harris looking pretty good with Urshela, Canha, Chafin and Shelby performing well.

Bennetti making that sick Stephen King reference and getting crickets was hilarious.
Yeah with Gibson and Monroe he might run into that a lot.

Feel bad, understandable but Gibby seems out of it at times. Monroe says some stupid things but is at least a little entertaining.

Teams just seems better with Miggy gone and Hinch not having to worry how to fit him in the lineup.

So Ibanez is on a rehab stint in Toledo. When he's ready ... you can't send Perez or Kennedy down, can you? I think I'd send Colt Keith down. It's been rough. Let him regroup and bring him back in a month or two.

Month end report:

17-13, +7 run differential, 2.5 games back. The division is not as crappy as advertised.

As advertised the pitching is well ahead of the hitting and the defense has been up and down. Considering everything they are in a decent position going into the tougher part of the schedule. First time in years they got out of the gate in good shape.

Went to a Suprise party at Comerica last night. We had cheap seats and everyone met on the third deck party area. It was a beautiful night and downtown Detroit looked great and was hopping. We were at Tin Roof and when we walked in in the first inning Tigers were already down 5-0 so nobody cared about the game.

I said I will get some drinks for the people I came with. 4 beers, 2 vodka and cranberry and 2 hot dogs, 105.00 dollars.

Bought a couple rounds for my daughters after that and spent over 250.00 just on concessions. Tickers were cheap.. 40.00 each. With parking it was around a 400.00 dollar night just for the game. Add in the fact the Tigers only had a couple hits the game was terrible.

This team has no stars at all except Skubel to even get the fans excited. Even Skubel is not that exciting to watch pitch,

If nobody ends up being interested in the games themselves, people will start saving money by just meeting at an outdoor bar with free parking and reasonable priced food and drinks.

That would have been a much better option. Not sure what they said the attendance was but on a beautiful Friday night it the seats were half empty. The third deck was crowded but nobody was watching the game, just a bar like setting..plus you are so far away from the action up there.

Someone should be in jail for what they are doing to this pitching staff. The pitching is winning a world series caliber.

The only reason to watch this team right now is every 5th day when Skubal starts. If they trade him just stick the other fork in them.

This is a joke:

Javier Báez is hitting .183 with one home run and a .456 OPS in 53 games this season, but in his absence, the replacement shortstops — Ryan Kreidler and Zach McKinstry — have a .145 batting average with one homer and a .431 OPS in 20 games. Also, Báez is the best defender of the three shortstops.

How are any of these clowns still on the team? Pathetic.

So Parker Meadows gets recalled, his swing looks great. Finally something to get a tiny bit excited about. Then after 3 games he gets hurt.

This sucks.

It sure appeared as if his time in Toledo, he was able to make the necessary adjustments to the big league. I hope this injury time off doesn't hurt that progress.

A couple of stats that completely blew me away:

* The Detroit Tigers improved to 43-39 this season when scoring at least 1 run.
* The Detroit Tigers are 41-26 when they score at least 2 runs. (That is a 99 win pace.)

What a comeback against the Dodgers down 9-4 to tie and send to extras! Then a walk off bomb for Urshela. Impressive
Great comeback, I made the mistake of walking away but came back just in time to see the Gio HR. Very encouraged by what we've seen from Colt Keith. 🐯

Any tips for buying seats at Comerica? They start at like $10 on StubHub for what seem like good views (but 300 or outfield). Is it worth going to $50-75 to be on the baselines/Any sections not recommended?

We'll be going largely to see the stadium etc, probably get there well in advance and hit some stadium bars etc... TIA

If your main thing is walking around the ballpark and hitting the bars, expensive seats are kind of a waste of money. The ten dollar tickets will get you in the gates and give you more money to spend on concessions and gear.

When are you going? Weekday or weekend?
I was at Wednesday game and it was dead. You could probably walk into any section and sit where you wanted

I’ve probably sat in every section of that park at least once

The 300s kind of suck, especially the LF area. but if you are just looking to get in the door and walk around that’s probably fine

If you actually care about watching the game with a decent view I’d look at at least the 200s. The 200 section in RF is pretty solid (along the 1B line)

The LF outfield seats are pretty good
RH OF bleachers meh

Anything on 1B 3B 100s are good

There’s also a really nice outdoor bar / patio area in RF for hanging out

Saturday of Labour Day weekend vs Boston, so we expected it to be busier but there are tons of seats on StubHub. So many that we'll probably buy fairly last minute.

We do care about watching the game but we're all Jays fans, so not worried so much about the outcome though we'll likely cheer for Detroit because **** the Red Sox.

I'll take that all into consideration. Looks like we may be paying a lot for hotels that weekend so probably find tickets somewhere in the mid-range but don't need $12 crappy seats. Though if LF outfield are decent we could go pretty cheap there.

Yeah you can wait until day of I would think. The tigers are out of it and half the state will be up north for the holiday weekend

For what you’re looking for I’d recommend either sections 147-150 in LF or 211-218

There’s not a lot of good hotels in Detroit proper, especially near the stadium so yeah likely to be pricey

Other options would be to get something in the nearby suburbs (Allen park, Taylor, Dearborn, Southgate ) and drive or Uber down

if you’ve got any other questions feel free to shoot me a PM

I check the scores and the Tigers were down 4-0 and the Twins were winning 3-0. Looked like a stake in the heart of the playoff hopes. But somehow the Tigers won and the Twinkees lost. Flipped it from 3.5 games back to 1.5 games back. That was a massive change of events. Still losing the tie-break so essentially 2.5 games back.

Tigers in the W.S. for +6500 is a virtual lock.

A nice win in extra innings. The Twinkees won so they did not gain ground there, but beating KC now puts a second WC spot in play. Right now it looks like three central teams battling over the last two playoff spots but Seattle is still lurking around.

Playoffs..there I said it! Just need to keep winning series and that should do it.

Heard on the radio this morning Tigers are 25-10 since their highest paid player Baez went on the IR.

Cleveland has looked like they were going to lose to the Twinkees every night, but pull off yet another come from behind win.

Twins and Tigers tied in the standings and only two behind the Royals for the final two playoff spots. Still must overcome the tie-breaker.
.

Tigers lose momentum and ground. Tough day on the road against a very good pitcher. Tigers have to at least split next two with Baltimore to keep hopes alive.

What a big win. After blowing a 2-run lead in the ninth they managed to get out of a second and third with no outs situation and then pull out the W in the 10th.

1 game plus tiebreak behind the Royals.
1/2 game plus tiebreak behind the twinkees who have a double-header tomorrow.

Huge win and a great catch by Sweeney to save the game.
