***Detroit Tigers thread: 1st pick yet again, this is not fun*** (1 Viewer)

:lmao: at Indians fans.

95 win team, 28th in attendance.  Too bad you guys finally broke the city title streak, but I'll even root for Boston to beat you in the playoffs.

Enjoy your Sawx!  You wouldn't root for the Indians if they were 1st in attendance like they used to be.  But keep using it as your crutch, for what reason I have no idea.  I never wanted the Tigers to win a WS when they made the playoffs....and I'm proud of it.

1948!!!!!

Even Atlanta and Miami fans are embarrassed by Cleveland fans.  :lmao:

Keep the hot takes coming!  Something needs to spice this thread up.
Surprised there isn't more discussion in the Indians thread about how you're going to the playoffs without Salazar, Carrasco, and possibly Kluber.  At least you'll get one home game amirite?  I'm sure 28k will enjoy that.

Funny thing about all this is Super Steelers fan Tom Servo takes the lead in licking windows among Tribe fans, Wadegarret must be so disappointed.

I'm a Steelers fan?

I haven't watched an NFL game in like 5 years. I disavowed any interest in the NFL. However, I will accept all punishment for rooting for Penn State.

You will notice DD that I didn't chirp at you; I reserved that for mx.

Need to go at least 4-1 I think.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out since JV is scheduled to pitch the last regular season game if they need to win.  If they somehow get in with him pitching that game, Fulmer would pitch the WC game I assume unless there is a tie breaker that would have to be played.  If that happens, it is possible they don't have their two best pitchers if they somehow get to a playoff game - either WC or division series.

First things first though...need to keep winning and worry about that mess later.

What we really need is to win two more games than what Baltimore does to avoid a tie-break.  The absolute best (miracle) scenario is we don't need to use JV for game 162, but that is extreme wishful thinking (like O's go 1-3 and Tigers go 4-0 over next 4, not gonna happen).    The O's have two more against Toronto (Go Blue Jays!) and then three against the Yankees in New York.  Cleveland is gonna be focused on winning again since home field advantage is within range, so the next two games will be tough for the Tigers too.  Last night was a big boost for the Tigers, but the odds are still against them.  But they are still alive!

Just bought 4 infield box seats sec 123 row 22 for some customers. Pretty much even with first base for 9.00 each.  Crappy night but I never seen tickets as cheap as they are right now.

Given who Cleveland is pitching there is no excuse to lose either tonight or tomorrow.

With 2 outs concentrate on the hitter that has  2 strikes.... :wall:   Liked Gibby`s  comment after the ball got by Miggy...that is a lonely run chasing that one.

Damn.   I thought Mighy'sMiggy's ball was out.  Apparently so did he.
Of course he did as he did not start running until halfway to first and was cut down.  Should have been an easy double. Every game  is like a playoff game and now  2 big mistakes in one inning.

Miggy is hurt though, so don't be too hard on him.  He took a shot to the kneecap yesterday.  Probably bruised it which can be painful for a couple weeks.

Yeah let's say Fullmer wins the wild card game. With JV unavailable, does that give Sanchez a post-season start?

If Fulmer doesn't return tonight it's possible he pitches on Saturday for some innings since Buck Farmer is the scheduled starter, and that's Fulmer's bullpen day.  Nice job getting out of the third unscathed.

He pitched out of a couple big jams.   It was not his sharpest outing, but he got the big outs when he needed too.

If Det, Blt, Tor tie for the two WC spots, it sucks for Detroit.  They would have to first travel to Baltimore then if win Travel to Toronto for the play in to the division series due to having the worst  head to head.

Which actually works out the same if they just tie with Baltimore.   Detroit has the worst head to head and Toronto the best.

I see they're dusting off Zimmermann to start him in the Atlanta series.  No other options though.  Sanchez, Farmer and Pelfrey are all awful.
