1.96 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. Hopefully he found something last year he didn't have before that.1.96 ERA and 1.05 WHIPTigers close to deal with reliever Mark Lowe.
Very good last year, ok to ####ty his other years.
Good catch. I must have been watching his games through a mirror or something.Norris isn't going to be part of the rotation?Since they plan on having an all RHP rotation, it's key that they pick up at least one solid lefty to get out other lefties late in games and act as a bridge to the 8th/9th inning closers.
Maybe Lowe is a slow starter..just finding himself at 33.Doctor Detroit, on 07 Dec 2015 - 12:38 AM, saidoctor Detroit, on 07 Dec 2015 - 12:38 AM, said:Tigers close to deal with reliever Mark Lowe.

I like that he filled the big needs right away. I'm not sure how Pelfrey will work out, but for some reason he was their target (or at least a top target) so hopefully he's right. I like the K-Rod deal because it has a lot of built in flexibility, Lowe is a solid move if Lowe pitches like last year, he got Salty to play 45-50 games, and I love the JZimm signing a ton.I really like Avila. He's aggressive, yet conservative. He could really lead this team into a new era while the contracts on the books are allowed to age.
252 .351 .410 .761 with 53 homers over his career, that's not horrible (and he kills lefties). His def efficiency in CF was average but better than Maybin's or Gose's, I think if he was in LF he'd be above average though.Fowler is basically only a platoon guy. He is horrible against RHP and graded low in defensive range.
Considering Fowler is coming off a year where he set career highs and turned down a one year 15 million qualifying offer. It's going to take more than a few million more to sign Fowler over Jackson.Doctor Detroit said:252 .351 .410 .761with 53 homers over his career, that's not horrible (and he kills lefties). I'd rather have Fowler than AJax for sure.
How does AA get 2.5 for one year and Salty get the vet minimum of 514K? Stats are pretty similar with Saltys being even a little better and a switch hitter.Doctor Detroit, on 07 Dec 2015 - 8:40 PM, said:I like that he filled the big needs right away. They really could use another OF bat and another reliever or two, but I like what he's done so far. Target some FAs and trade targets you want, start signing folks while everyone else is still thinking about last year.

Nice to be on the other end of that for a change. Sounds like they are not even counting on Rondon at all.Doctor Detroit, on 09 Dec 2015 - 9:03 PM, said:Weird that the Tigers traded for Justin Wilson when Bastardo and Sipp were out there in FA market. Wilson is exactly what was needed but giving away Cessa to get him seems short-sighted. Not a huge fan of this one, but I mostly hate all relievers.

It's passable if the bullpen is decent. It's not if the pen is more of the same.So now it is JV, Zimmerman, Sanchez, and Pelfrey plus some youngsters? A ton of question marks, but at least potential to be a decent rotation. The Tigers are making an effort to put together a winner.

He had a lot better advanced and raw statistical year than Fister had last year. Of course under the McMoron trade rules we judge AT THE TIME OF THE TRADE, so I guess the Nats won that one. It'd be elite with Robbie Ray.
