Can't blame Brad for that, what a disaster. JV was awesome and the bullpen allows 7 runs over 8 batters after being mostly good all year. 

 
At least they're getting creative with how they lose games now.  They got a good start and let the bullpen blow the game for once.  Bobby Wilson grand slam LOL.

Actually I can when you wonder why Wilson was pitching in losing efforts the past two nights. Like I said his management skills are miserable. Foresight is what makes a good manager. He blew the game leaving in Pelfrey too long last night and then ran the entire gambit of his bullpen out there, exhausting them when actually needed tonight.

Not gonna be able to do this even if they wanted to.  Maybe VMART and Kinsler, but the other players contracts are too big or they have to much value to the franchise as is (Iggy, Castellanos, JD).

They should move Upton to CF and bring Moya up. We need a LH bat with power in the worst way. Can Upton play CF? I have no idea for sure. He seems athletic enough to give it a try. What's the worst that can happen? It's not like Gose is doing anything. Gose is fast and covers a lot of ground but he is still below average in the field and terrible at the plate and on the bases. Collins is terrible and adds nothing at all.

By the way, we once had a manager that wanted to get an extra bat in the lineup and he had to replace an exceptional defensive player that could not hit to do it. The manager was Mayo Smith and he put Mickey Stanley at SS in the World Series. He had never played infield. He was not great in the field but was serviceable. It was one of the boldest decisions in baseball history. Moving Upton isn't anywhere close to as bold as that. 

Maybe I'm crazy for thinking about moving Upton to CF but Gose sucks and Moya should get a chance.

So I say #### it...it's time to go bold or go home.  :thumbup:

I thought I heard that Upton has played some CF before.   Why not give it a shot?

 
Upton has never played in CF, but I guess if Cespedes can play there they could give it a shot.  Gose is a slightly above average CF statistically right now, but he can't hit so there is that. 

Moya is probably never going to be much but I agree he deserves a shot.  i think the thing with him is he can't hit offspeed stuff very well and he's usually over-matched against MLB pitchers.  But Tyler Collins was hitting .100, not sure why you wouldn't give Moya a look.

I get they have too many guys that just can't be dealt or shouldn't. What about Sanchez, Salty, or any relivers?

Sure, those guys could be dealt.  Probably wouldn't get much for them though.

Probably too early to be talking about breaking them up, it's not like the division is any good.  Sux will hit the wall at some point, KC looks flawed, Cleveland can't hit.  Lots of middling AL teams right now.

I would wait until the all star break, but if they are barely .500 and the Royals take off or the Sox are having a magical year I would take just about anything for those guys.

I would wait until the all star break, but if they are barely .500 and the Royals take off or the Sox are having a magical year I would take just about anything for those guys.

If that happened I could see them trading anyone with value except JV, Miggy, JD, Iggy, McCann, Fulmer, Norris, Upton Castellanos, or Jzimm.  All those guys stay for one reason or the other.

I can see leaving him in to start the 7th because Brad killed the bullpen this weekend, but as soon as Taylor hit that rocket he should have been pulled. 

 
Looks like Miggy has gotten his annual nagging injury before Memorial Day this year.  Lovely.

Ausmus is terrible. Seriously, man on second, McCann up and he sends Victor Martinez to the plate. Are you ####### kidding me? Everyone on the planet knows he will be intentionally walked. 

Oops...my bad. Everyone except Ausmus.  :thumbdown:  

 
I know Cabrera has never been a speed demon but he looks quite a bit slower this season. Not sure you can send him from second on a single anymore.

Brad looks defeated in post game interviews. It's time to move on from him. He's in over his head and not learning from his errors. I understand that theoretically managers only affect a handful of games a year but it's clear to anyone with two eyes he has pathetically managed his pitching staff during this streak and it has cost the Tigers more than one game.

Brad will never get another managing job in MLB.  Really needed to be a minor league manger for a few years or at least a bench coach in the majors first.

 
So does Brad have the nuts to sit Miggy again tomorrow...or bench the hottest hitter in the league and a red hot V-Mart?  The problem is Ausmus should not give out future plans on position players.  Just post the lineup.

It was a thing of beauty, maybe the best play they've made all year.  I thought it was a tie game for sure. 

Bunch of Tigers fans in my section, lots of fun tonight.  That Castellanos homer didn't look like a homer off the bat but the kid has some muscles. 

Some Nats fan said, "oh look the Detroit Jayson Werth is up" when Miggy came to the plate.  After his RBI single I said, "yeah just like Jayson Werth except the four batting titles, two MVPs, and the triple crown."  Guy wanted to keep arguing and I called him a "dummy." 

If you want to compare Justin "BJ" Upton to Werth fine.  But let's not shtick it up at Miggy's expense.  :bye:
