Deuce Knee Info (1 Viewer)

Just when I pry my way back up into playoff eligibility this happens. Stick a fork in me I'm DONE.

Your boy Tyson Thompson? Also, how is everyone already picking these guys up off the waiver. My leagues are all locked while the games are being played.
Not to hijack, but Cowboy, have you heard anything on JJ's status? He's the one person I can't get any real info on.

I am in a league where you can pick up anytime and also in one that you can't pick up until games are done.

That is what I have seen as well... I have him in a redraft league, but I am dropping someone else to pick up A.Smith since nothing has been said for certain.

I've also never understood that either. Must be an open waiver wire. First come first serve to the Waiver Wire does not seem fair to me at all. It's a system that rewards people that LIVE on the computer 24/7. I don't get it either.

Djax and Deuce owner here.

My WR1 and RB1!!

Good Grief. (And I was 3-1 about to be 4-1)

( At least my league-mates now have a chance :excited: )
Couldn't have said it better myself. Were you towards the end of a 12-team draft as well? 1st and 4th round picks already injured. 3rd round pick Gonzalez doing squat. Wait a minute... :ptts: :ptts: :ptts:

and my season is over :ptts:
No offense, but the way the entire Saints team looked yesterday, even with a healthy Deuce if this ends your season, you were on life support anyway. He wasn't going to win anything for you. We're you're playing catchup like the Saints were and will be, rushing yardage will not be piling up.
deuce wasnt my RB1. its a keeper, and i have alexander and culpepper as well. However, my WR's are Clayton, Johnson and Rod smith. My season, which was on life support, is now dead. Barlow is now my RB2
I feel your pain brother.......Clayton and johnson in particular. I'm glad you can't swear on here because just thinking and typing their names ticks me off.
In one league I now have W Dunn as my RB #1 and Brown #2  . Fortunately I can start TO, Chad Johnson, and Fitz at WR. :D and Gonzo at TE (he will get it going) :D

If Stecker is healthy, there's no doubt in my mind that he's the better back right now. Sure Antowain Smith has been a legit starter in the league before, but Stecker is more of a dare I say - Willie Parker type of back. Antowain Smith at 6'2, is more of an Eddie George type of back, if not due to his size, his running style. I think the game has passed Antowain by. Stecker seems to be the fresher, speedier, quicker, more prone to catch passes, back. The season is still early - I would not be surprised to see one of these guys have some value, but I don't see a lot of value coming from the Saints running game, regardless of who's in there. :twocents:

Oct 10 Cowboys running back Julius Jones injured his left leg in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Eagles. The ailment appeared to be to his ankle, and Jones did not return in the second half. "I am fine," Jones told the team's official web site after the game. "I could have played today, but I will play next week...It is tough to watch when we are playing that well. I really wanted to get out there." Views: The Cowboys had the luxury of a big lead, and they did not need to rush Julius back on the field. Bill Parcells has been eager to get his backups more looks, and rookie Tyson Thompson carried the load for nearly the entire second half. We fully expect Jones to play against the Giants in week six, and Thompson is not a threat to his job.

I actually think he could have played yesterday in a closer game. With such a lead, they put Thompson in and he did a decent job. But you know, if you would have asked me last night about Deuce I would have said the same exact thing so you never know.

At least you are getting good production out of your TE's
:lmao:
yea, thanks guys
Shockey should be gone by next week with a knee injury. I have lost Walker, Burleson, Jackson, Vick, and Deuce to knee injuries. The way I figure it, Branch or Shockey is the next to go for my team, and after seeing your list Shockey makes more sense.
:lmao: :lmao: that team is hilarious
cmon, give me a little credit. that was a pretty good team after the draft. and if you dont think so just say it is cause im feeling pretty crappy right now. need a little pick me up. :banned:

Not carrying, but not killing anybody either. He was going to be catching passes and getting goalline carries, even if his YPC was poor.

Thompson is not a threat to his job when healthy, I agree. However, Julius did miss extensive time last season and is dinged here in week 4. I do expect Julius to play next week but adding Tyson to your roster isn't a bad move. He is the backup and the way he runs, he could break a long one at anytime. He kind of reminds me of Tatum Bell who is very fast and on somedays it just looks like he can take it to the house.

what does this do to Stallworth(less)'s fantasy value?
I don't think this issue has much to do with it, but Brooks' play certainly does. He's a bum, and please don't post fantasy rankings on him. I'm talking about him as a NFL QB.

I know my FBG's or at least fellow Cowboy fans. You looked like a fella hurting at RB and I just threw the name out there. Then someone asked politely about Julius Jones condition since he was dinged in yesterday's game and the minihijack was set. We're back on track.

Was Deuce really carrying anyones fantasy team?
Well, he was kinda holding down the fort with the realistic expectation of many big games ahead. Now you are relying on some late round scrub or WW pickup.

Yeah, when you start 3 RBs with the flex he's pretty much going to be a week in week out guy for anyone. I got him 13th (post katrina). Going to be at least a 12 point drop every week here on out.

Yeah he wasn't great but when you have a team full of Roy Williams', Trent Green's and Tony Gonzales' a season can go in the tank pretty freaking fast.

Can someone who knows about knee injuries give us an idea how long before McAllister will be back to close to full strength (assuming this is a full-blown ACL tear). Those of us who have him in a limited keeper league will have to decide whether to carry him the rest of the year, depending on whether he'll be back to full strength for the start of next year.

Have we seen for certain that it IS ACL? Every report I see says he is "Likely" done for the year because these are "Preliminary" tests. I have him in 1 redraft league, and do not want to drop him until I hear for certain.
I read that he is going for a second opinion.
That is what I have seen as well... I have him in a redraft league, but I am dropping someone else to pick up A.Smith since nothing has been said for certain.
On ESPN Monday Quarterback they are reporting as breaking news that McAllister IS out for the season with a torn ACL

He also said both Stecker AND Smith will be used. Stecker being the pass catcher im sure.

I'm going to guess that your season wasn't going well anyways. Seriously, this is why you draft a bench. Exit Deuce, enter Dunn.

I am 2-3 after this week in my Yahoo league. I do have Moss and Westbrook but the rest of my team blows at this point.

I am in the same predicament. If the recovery is like Edge (a better RB injured about the same time), you cannot expect much from him in 2006.

Antwan Smith and Stecker as the change of pace/3rd down back is the way i see it.

Stecker might even be the more valuable back, especially in PPR leagues because the Saints will be playing from behind just about the rest of the season. I don't see A. Smith getting many carries in 2nd half of games.

Tough break for the Saints and for Deuce owners.
:goodposting: I think this is a good take on the situation. I like A Smith better, but the Saints probably won't be leading a lot of games. They'll more likely be passing.

Sooo, RW back to NO? 6th rndr a fair/reasonable price?
I would think Bennett would be a better possibility.
I'm not so sure -- remember the talk prior to the season had NO changing the mindset to pund the ball repeatedly. That is not Bennett's MO -- and RW happens to now be done with his suspension. With the Dolphins lacking future pix, a 5th/6th rndr mey prove to be reasonable.
Not going to happen. No way Ricky comes back to New Orleans, no way!
Dont you mean san antonio?

i don't know about that. the saints relocating is a really big IF. they can retro-fit a "new" superdome, for example, and the amount of $$ flowing into the region may keep them there. it would be a PR nightmare for both the Saints and NFL for the team to relocate now.

Deuce owner here for the last three years - actually drafted him all three years! (9th overall this year).Observations:- Deuce looked much faster in 2003 than 2004 or 2005 and had much more yards as a result.- I wouldn't draft him again unless he comes just too cheap to pass up as a RB3.- Stecker had one good game in relief last year but isn't big enough to carry the load very long - he's really just a 3rd down back- Antowain is a decent handcuff as I actually had him handcuffed to Chris Brown last year and he performed pretty solidly when Brown was out.- If the Saints try to keep with their "power running" approach, Antowain is your guy.- If they get away from the power running due to trailing all the time, no RB, Stecker or Antowain will be worth much.

On my team, exit Deuce, enter (gulp) Ricky Williams.
I'm in the same boat having just traded my RB depth away last week for some much need WR help. Was putting all my eggs in one basket with my 2 RBs and their backups. Oh well....run, Ricky, run.

Crud! I just traded away Barlow for a WR because I already lost Javon Walker. Hmmm, I have Anderson, but damnif Tater Bell ain't trying win some Shanahan love. What's a football guy to do? :lmao: Drats. Ughhh! Good Grief...What a blockhead.

But either guy isn't likely to anything more than a bye week filler unless you're just desperate.

Only thing is...I think that Stecker has more upside than Smith. He has some speed and exposiveness and can catch the ball better out of the backfield. I am trying to get him as a flyer in my league but I'm not counting on him...just a flyer.Smith averaged 3 yds per carry late in the game? Does he have anything left in the tank?

Stecker, Smith, or...

Saints to ring George's phone?

Analysis: Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker are likely to get a bulk of the carries, but the club could also take a look at Eddie George, who has been out of football so far this season. Even if the team did show some interest, he should be avoided in all Fantasy leagues.

I just love the fact that some in my league get their info from sportsline.

Sucks about Deuce. Took him 1st Rd in my new dynasty league this year. Since he may be ineefective next year Im going to try to dump him at some point. This season is wrecked, maybe next season too. I cant believe Im thinking of reuilding already.

as an update, Two Feet In Bounds (internet FFB radio show) reports that the saints have picked up Jesse Chatman from the dolphins.
